First of all very good mod thx for sharing it. My question is ; i'm using round shape minimap and if a player is out of the minimap i cant see their compass-like indicator similar the ones for the waypoints. Is there a way to enable it?
This isn't a Minecraft client crash, but instead Modloader might have crashed the minimap instead, displaying it with a red "[Rei's Minimap ERROR: null]". It immediately went null after rejoining a server.

The crash log was shown in magiclauncher's logs window, I have no idea if this is a modloader issue or a minimap issue.
Not to complain, but you can see that the last time he updated was Augst 17th, don't you think he would of been following the updates in minecraft and would've pre-made the minimap mod for 1.4.2?
supposedly there is a motd mod you can install to make it where you can turn it on, but i dont understand it so havnt tried it
Rei makes the motd mod as well, and it's updated along with the map. There will be a zip file under a subheader on the main post; you simply put the files from the client version of the motd mod into your client jar file then paste the right variables for what you wish to enable into a motd file which sits in your main Minecraft folder, similar to how the server version worked.
Don't make it harder than it truly is. It's one of the simplest installs if you don't overthink it. Do make sure if you use Optifine that you install everything in the proper order, however!

I cannot change the minimap's textures between Zan's and Rei's.
I could do it in the previous version, but not in this version anymore.
Additional information: I am using the latest "Magic Launcher" and "OptiFine" mod. Magic Launcher says OK regarding the OptiFine mod but says "no ModLoader" regarding Rei's Minimap mod. Does it require ModLoader or something?

Ok so first if you want you can use modloader. But if you're like me and the only mod you use is Rei's, you can do it by hand.
1. Make a backup copy of your minecraft.jar
2. Open up your minecraft.jar and locate the META-INF folder. DELETE this folder!
3. Open up the downloaded .zip, and put the reifnsk folder and the two .class files right into the main folder.
that's it!
Is the asc.class file necessary for the mod to work?
Is the LoginMessage mod forge compatible?
asc.class is for when you aren't using any variant of ML. It just adds the mods main loop function call to GuiIngame.java.
When you use ML, you don't need the class file, as ModLoader has a hook for what the minimap needs. The class file is just for people who doing jar modding and are not using ML.
