I had problem using this mod. The minimap does not appear and the "M" key does not toggle the Menu. Does this mod requires any mod before it can work?
I already had modloader installed; tried install it via the minecraft.jar and also the mod folder (both didn't work).
When i run the game, it just mention there is no waypoint found (this should be normal when run the mod for the 1st time, right?).
I even created a new world to try it, thinking that maybe it might not work with an existing world, still it does not work.
Can anyone help? Did i make a mistake somewhere?

It sounds like it might be an incompatibility with an existing mod. List all installed ones and see if we can find out what caused it.
Also, if you don't have anything important on your .jar, just force update and install the latest ModLoader and the latest Rei's Minimap, then add your existing mods one-by-one.
If you only had those two installed, then I don't know.
Would it be possible to make the cavemaps/such enabled by default for MP?(Or at least a server-side edit that changes the MOTD to allow it...)It's just a little on the impossible side to edit the MOTD on a vanilla server.(This is working on the tenuous assumption that if somebody is serious enough about not allowing the minimap, they'll already have Bukkit for protection from any of the other "cheating" methods that far outperform this.)

Just came across an interesting case. Using this mini-map just fine. then installed another mod, Kaevator_CCTV_v2.2_MC_1.7.3, and the mini-map goes away. when first start up minecraft, it says the usual with the way-points, but no mini-map or even the keys don't work.Just letting you know. @ Camt: Thanks for the advice. Found out and confirmed that Kaevator's CCTV mod is not compatible with this mod. Just realize it after ReiFNSK mentioned about CCTV mod causing the issue.

Two things... One is a bug: when you die on a SMP server that has entities enabled, the options and entities disappear from the menu and map.
Also would it be possible to get the source code for this mod. I love the mod and would like to play around with it as well as make it so that it works with other mods that I use and remove the requirement for modloader. Thanks in advance.
I will probably keep changes to the code to myself unless you want them or I have permission to redistribute and I will always give credit to you.
