I hope you realize that that setup won't work well for even the -two- macerators that it's currently hooked up to.
Stuff from the bottom extractor pipe will split between going down (where your output pipes are) and up (to the other extractor pipe), and without another pipe there to "anti-insert" to, will be inserted into the other macerators, and fall out of the system.
EDIT: I'm not sure if this is just the angle, but it looks like the iron pipe keeping the items in the upper loop don't have an output, too.
hello the iron pipe is a one way pipe if only 1 output because if an item hits the bounce pipe at the end and heads back into the sorting system then it could get pretty messy so when it goes back past both macerators it hits the iron pipe and the iron pipe says TURN AROUND its like a half bounce pipe that works one way
also the extraction pipes i use perfer to send items to a pipe over an inventory so it will send it to the pipe over the macerator that is next to it
new problem
the extraction pipes have one choice of which inventory to take from so i just added one on the end i didnt think it would be so compact but it is so my problem is that the input of the extraction pipe while just sitting there changes randomly from the one i want to the one beside it i can upload the world if you want to take a look at it

Yes, I'm well aware how iron pipes work, but it has to have an output to have an output.
It didn't look like it had an output from that shot. I'm going to assume it's the angle and move on.

Again, yes, I know how extraction pipes work.
The top extraction pipes in that shot have two inventories and one pipe attached.
Okay, so the items from it go to the pipe. That's fine.
The bottom extraction pipe has two inventories and two pipes.
The items will avoid the inventories and be split up randomly between the two pipes.
One of those pipes is the other extraction pipe. Coming from the pipe culls it from the valid destination selector.
As such, those items have ONLY the two macerators to choose from.
As the output slot is not a valid location for an item to go, you will have items popping out of those pipes.
EDIT: I can't verify anything with the new setup because you took the screenshot at night.
You can do a three pipe forced insertion into a chest like this:
= iron pipe
= bounce pipe (unpowered)
= insertion pipe
= um... duh?
|
V
If the chest gets too full the items will just be held in this system, without falling out or backing up into your sorting system.
You could even add one of Eloraam's redstone pipes into the system to flag an overflow:
= redstone pipe
= stone/cobblestone pipe (to prevent bounce pipe from being turned on by the redstone pipe)
|
V
I used this to help me save space and some resources.
I hope my suggestion helps.

Nice, I will definitely give this a try. Can't wait till this is (if it will be) updated to 2.0.1 I am liking the new features it has. You would think they would have added this all by now.

I'm with you on that one! Eloraam updated her redstone pipe to 2.0.1 today so I'm hoping someone will update these soon :smile.gif:
I wasn't planning to update until spacetoad has 2.0 stable, but I can look into it.
Would love it. While I'm probalby going to start a new world when I upgrade to 2.0 I just cant see useing buildcraft without these pipes. I have no idea why spacetoad has not intigrated at least the insertion pipe as its frankly a PITA to automate a furnace system with random spliting. you either have to go way overboard with too many furnices or risk haveing stuff drop out.
What would you think about making a pipe that will only connect to a max of 2 things at a time? so you connect it to two things and then anything else, pipe or chest, it won't connect to.
Ive been using 2.0.1 and industrial craft along with elorams for a while now, have not had a single problem yet, he calls it unstable but from my experiances so far, its not that unstable, if at all (leaving room incase it does decide to go rogue on me), for one of my local servers, along with ssp. the only issue i can see with bc 201, is oil is scarce most the time, but thats only used in a combustion (think it is, the iron one) engine, and the only use that has, is to make a filler/builder/quarry go zoom zoom.

The biggest issue with this mod is getting the pipes to work with MC Forge. Blakmajik made the source code for these pipes available, but I'm a modding newbie can't figure out how to port them from the old BuildCraft API to the new MC Forge-based one :/. I tried looking at Eloraam's code for her redstone pipe and it didn't help either... I guess we'll have to wait on Blakmajik to work his... um... magic.
I hate the oil generation in 2.0.1, it's impossible to clean up and spawns in weird places, often with a really long straight shaft dug underneath for some reason.

So you want Oil... to be clean... you know this is Minecraft not Perfectcraft right? What I've seen of the oil generation it seems to be nicely realistic.
As for the shaft you may want to investigate what it might lead to.

True, but once you figure out forge, its smooth sailing, its kind of like how mod loader was, barely anyone used it, now just about any mod uses it.
The oil i can relate to somewhat, the shaft issues....that sounds like a personal problem :smile.gif:, the oil being uncleanable, i believe realisticly if a block of stone was dropped over oil, the stone would win and go down to the ground, same for dirt, if you have enough, it is annoying to hunt down all the source blocks to get rid of the uncollectable trash that prevents you from building their. But, i wouldnt call that "unstable", unstable in my opinion causes random crashs, world corrupts, basicly major things that will ruin your day, not being able to place a block on oil or the oil generation being a little, wonkey, does not mean its unstable.

Yeah, it's definitely not what I would call unstable, oil annoyances or not. I just ended up making two game folders, but frankly I use the 2.0.1 version a lot more. A quarry that mines faster than a diamond hunter with a gun to his head is a *bit* more useful than the pipes in this mod :smile.gif:
As for modding with the new Forge/BC, I suppose I'll wait until some more mods made using it come out so I can decompile them and study the code to help me learn it. Besides, I've spent way more time in Eclipse and looking at tutorials this past week than actually playing the game!
if I understand correctly, all the hooks from modloader are left intact, so if you can mod for modloader you can mod for forge. and any modloader mod should work right out of the box with the forge api
I can take a shot at rewriting the source tonight, if someone can walk me through compilation, or is willing to do it themselves. I've messed around with rewriting some other mods, and while getting the source right was easy, compiling them was a pain. (I may have not gotten it quite right, since I was working with decompiled code, but that shouldn't be a problem here.)
