I'm using a fresh install of minecraft, the latest modloader, and Optifog+Optimine. Yet I get this error when I run minecraft with this mod installed.

Would it have something to do with my OS? I'm running Ubuntu 11.11. I've gotten mods before that didn't work because of linux.

No, it has nothing to do with your Mac OS or linux. I have a mac too.
You messed up the coding or you have failed to install it.
I recommend to update minecraft and re-install everything. Also copy 1 of the pre-made ores and paste it under the "</newore>" and re-name/change properties in the newore/newmaterial.xml. If the error re-occurs than I recommend to ask my friend FritzC.

Okay, I did everything as said, and I have a clean JAR with only Modloader and this.
But my ore and material won't work!
It crashes on a blackscreen after the Mojang logo, then spits up an error then closes before I can ever read a single line of what it said! I will supply the XML files here.

Error report please? from the modloader.txt file. 1 thing is that there is to many spaces in some places and you put a enter space in between zephyte and opal and check over the coding to see if it has everything correct and no wrong spelling.

Did you enable toolset?
yea, though in too many items it comes up with a wierd helmet thing i didnt design, and i cant wear it, anymore advice?
(oh, and i changed the properties exactly like opal (except the name) and it still dosent work)
What are you using to edit the xml file?
mikey, it says you have something wrong in the newMaterials.xml
Check to see if you have any unecessary spaces, etc.
And yea, I'll add armor later.
@kickbut I have no clue what you're talking about rofl
@okkeh, edit it with notepad
I haven't edited anything though, I installed what you put in the stock mod. I haven't altered it in any way.
Where do i acces the error logs then because when the error pops up, 3 seconds later it is gone, and i cant even scroll down on the error page.
I still get this error:

Go to to .minecraft and go to the "modloader"text file and go to the end and find the error and copy and paste it.
