Any news on the version with a config file that controls the spawn frequency and all? Am holding off adding it to our new mod compilation till it is done.
Sorry, I know I have been putting it off, It is pretty much done but been so busy havent had time to compile and reobfuscate it so that I can release it, it won't be too long. Thanks for the oppurtunity though for your mod comp!
Going to be adding a lot of new things to the properties so I only have the one file to download! Hurray me :biggrin.gif: And is will be modloader compatible like it now and will run with or without it!
I think just focusing on the slimes would be more fun, but that's just an opinion.
Slime variety, give the users control over spawn frequency, first via config, then later you could incorporated it into the game via menu like Mo's Creatures does.
Think of the slime possibilities...
Pack Slimes..
Jungle Slimes..
Desert Slimes..
Lava Slimes..
Slimes trained to do tasks..like slime up the loot on the floor and bring it back to a designated chest, upon command.
Swamp Slimes..
Tree Slimes..(that hang on the bottom of trees until disturbed..)
Acid Slimes...(Corrode weapons when struck..dissolve armor)...could be tamed and trained to dig for you (stone and softer materials)
Go into the properties file it makes where you run minecraft, should be inside a folder called Easier Slimes. Its very easy and explains it :smile.gif:
Woot! Thanks soooooo much for the update! Yay! :smile.gif: :smile.gif: :smile.gif:
<<---<< For you.
Also, had a small idea pop into my groggy, not quite awake brain. What if you combined slimeballs in the crafting table to make a slime block? It would work the same as soul sand maybe, if it were one block in height (critters/player walking through it would be snared(slow down) and sink into the block. Two or more height could cause suffocation of the victim. One Block ID-make it use the slime texture so no new terrain indexes are taken up. Would add a nice trap feature to your mod that would make sense.
Also came up with a new function for slimeballs maybe. They are sticky yes? Well what if you could throw them at critters. If it hit the critter would be snared with the possibility of being rooted.
And the thought occurred to me, what if the slimeball could be thrown at a wall to produce a pseudo sticky effect. Not to sure on how you could use that, but I have this mental image of a giant slime splat. LOL.
Throw it on the ceiling and it would grab any block...even sand or torches, you place on it.
I think, adding in new and fun things for having slimes, to do with slimes, building on what is already in the game, would really be a great thing. You know, there really are just so many mods out there, and they are all amazing really. But it can get hard adding things into your game when it takes up tons of BlockID's, Terrain Sprite Indexes and Sprite Indexes. By reusing what is already there, and limited what is added...instead focusing on functionality, not only will the mod blend seamlessly into the Minecraft base world, but will be easier for more people to utilize.
That said, I am gonna drink my coke..and wake up, then go test your mod out :smile.gif:
Lady Eternity, thanks again for your amazing post, you give great ideas and I will see what I can do, most of the stuff you said seems doable for a java expert, but I am still not the greatest, but I like a challenge so I will think about it. I have a poll going up for some of your ideas, I think you deserve the recognition :smile.gif:
=)

Woot! Have been waiting and checking back each day. :smile.gif:
Don't see the new download link up yet, so I guess it's not quite ready. Will check back in a bit.
Thanks for all the hard work :smile.gif:

And what would this slime ore do perhaps?

Btw, im having a problem with writing the file in the mods folder inside .minecraft, once that is fixed, the update will be released.
