I have a rather strange and particularly technical question. How do Harvestcraft crops check for growth? Also do you know if Hunger Overhaul changes those calculations?
In short, do they use the same checks as wheat, limited to each plant type (which means rows of alternating plant types would be the most efficient); limited to "harvestcraft plants" (so alternating with wheat would be good); do they simply not check for nearby plants (or tilled soil); or is it a method custom to the mod?
The slightly longer question involves looking at http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Crop_farming#Growth_rate because copying that information into this thread would take up way more space than is necessary, and the question boils down to "Look at the page and can anyone tell me if Pam's crops do that".
That's a good question. It's a shame I can't answer it, sorry, but, since I want to know too, replying might help us both find out? They definitely grow according to the same random update method (hence some plants mature before others) and I believethe random update average depends on the biome the crop is grown in (some crops grow better in one biome, etc). Harvestcraft also (I think) multiplies this random update average by a configurable factor (the default is 4, I think). None of this goes to the part of your question about efficiency being increased by the alternating rows, though. I'd really like to know the answer to that as I'm using Hunger Overhaul too - and Spice of Life - so this info could save me a lot of time.
Can anyone tell us if Harvestcraft crops grow more efficiently when planted in alternating rows (like vanilla crops do)?
Thanks again for your question and a big hug for anyone who can answer.
[Edit] Big hug goes out to Pam herself who assures us that the rules for vanilla root crops apply so, yes. Plant in alternating rows to get the most out of harvestcraft
This may be a stupid question, but I'm trying to increase the generation of beehives in harvestcraft. Do I increase the number after beehive rarity or lower it?
Anyone else notice the downloads are broken? Every link on the post is just redirecting me to the top of the page, no downloads, no new pages, nothing. Help?
Nevermind! Brainswell, here is the link. If you copy and paste it into your URL box (The thingy ^up there^ where you type in website names) then it works!
Anybody know if seeds are more likely to be found in certain zones or if they are purely random? I have been looking for Spiceleaf which "grows best in swamps and jungle"... I'm not sure if I have to find a swamp to have a decent chance at getting a seed for it or if I am just unlucky and can keep looking wherever because it makes no difference. Ifound one jungle and used half a bronze scythe on it breaking everything, but haven't found a swamp yet.
Is this mod client side only? I downloaded the zip file for 1.6.4 and put it into my server and the server will not start? I have forestry also installed. Is it causing a conflict?
I try to download harvest craft and I found out how after awhile all i did was copy the link and open it in a different tab but when i put it in my modpack it crashes and the crash report said pams harvest craft through most of it plz help
I can't figure out how to change them though because I can't open the configuration files. Should I use an app to open it? I already tried File Viewer but it doesn't let me edit it.
Help?
Nevermind,
I found a mod that changes it automatically.
Thanks anyway!
