This mod was updated solely by me, without the consult of the rest of the ABP mod team.
This mod was rebuilt from the mod up, and has a few changes:
#1: The paintings are now stored in a per-world basis, and take less RAM
#2: The recipe for the palette is different, it requires wood blocks instead of wood planks
Please post your amazing pixel arts that you make with this mod in this topic!

This Mod requires Risugami's ModLoader, and, for technical reasons, is not SMP for the time being. HOWEVER: A SMP version is in-development, with possible support for vanilla minecraft players to connect as well!
Note about custom paintings: Pictures are saved in a standard png format, to the folder: .minecraft\saves\world\paintings\
This means that you can bring in your own pictures without editing them in game.
Imported paintings must be in a standard RGB format, 32x32 pixels, the game will choke on anything else.
Change Log:
V 1.5 Updated to minecraft 1.2.5, by me!
V 1.3 Updated to 1.7.3, thanks to Dooozy!
V 1.2 Should fix that annoying 'black canvas bug'.
V 1.1 Should fix some lag bugs, sorry about that guys... Please note that if you are editing a painting and minecraft crashes (for whatever reason) you will loose all progress, as your painting only saves after you are done with the GUI. V1.1 also makes the small brush the default tool, instead of the larger one.
Cool mod you have there. It certainly adds another level of personalization to the game! Real good job on this.
Thanks, there was a LOT of hair pulling with this one... The hardest part was getting minecraft to except external files.. but I got it to work, finally. Please enjoy this mod!
Sir, this is amazing! Diamond houses for you. With a nice master bedroom painting above the bed. Also. Is it possible that when two paintings are next to each other, they merge and make a bigger one?...

No, they don't 'merge' but you can make quite large scenes by just editing the pixels of each edge of the paintings.
i can run 120 or whatever textures smoothly so i cant understand why this lags me :/
I have a feeling that the problems stem from the fact that I am saving the picture too often...I'll see if I can make it so that It only saves when the gui is exited.

This is AWESOME, but I have suggestions/fixes for you~ :biggrin.gif:
> Have multiple painting sizes available, determined by how much paper you used during crafting
> Painting borders! [May have to reduce the paintable area to 30x30 for this though]
> Make the cursor actually paint the RIGHT PLACE. >_> It's like, 4x4 pixels off.
Odd, I thought I had fixed the placement bugs...
Multiple Sizes has been thought of, and may or may not be added in a future update.
Does the current version support loading the same custom picture multiple times?
Also, just an idea (probably the easiest way to implement and get the same paintings for everyone), but you could have the custom paintings in SMP save to the server then transfer on loading... and have OPS the only ones that can make them (Perhaps by removing the crafting recipe from the SMP version). Although now that I think about it, there's another mod that does that already (for SMP).
NO! Loaded this mod and it wont let me into minecraft anymore. When I click on enter game it black screens then quits.. So excited about it too! Must be some kind of conflict. I am running

Is it supposed to be black? I can't do anything when it's like this.
I can't change the black with any tool, and yes, I have been using different colours.
I can't make anything D: The painting interface (when I try and make my painting) is black and I put something down on it and it is scribbles or blobs all over... Sorry D: but it's bugged....

EDIT: Seems to get really laggy and eventually crashes MC after enough time on one painting. hmm...
been a while, hasn't it?
Would you mind posting your PC specs? All in ABP mods have higher end computers, we may need to do some optimizations
