=======================Rotator Mod v1.2.5==================================
Ever felt like minecraft doesn't have enough objects that move? Ever wanted to build an airship
with spinning propellers, or an epic windmill that actually spins? From the Guy the brought you one of the best HD Texture packs, and Brought you skyboxes and shooting stars and made the night sky come alive. I now present
the awesomely epic Rotator mod.
Here is an Awesome Fan made video that kinda shows how to use the mod, man that was awesome and quick special thanks to MinecraftJAKEE
The spinning things can be more than just fans, and come in all sizes, but he shows a great example of how it can be a ceiling fan if desired! Note that these also have "axils" so that they aren't just floating.
Here is a demo of the amazingness! What will you build!?!?
This mod features 39 different Rotating objects that can also be placed on the ceiling and ground. You can customize the texture yourself if you so desire! This mod is very much like the paintings in that it only uses one item ID and texture array to add all these different potential entities.
The recipe is all sticks in all slots, basically a painting but, with a stick in the middle, as well, instead of the cloth.
The speeds can be changed as well as the Spin Direction. By holding the R key while you right click, you can pick from 7 different speed settings, which are saved and are independent from one another. Hold the C key and click to change the Direction to counter clockwise, Shift-C to switch back to clockwise on an already placed Rotator.
The objects are split into 5 different Sizes catagories to minimize your selection frustration! Simply hold the B,N,M or H key on your keyboard while you right click to place to select the size!
You can right click to dynamically change the texture among that size without having to re-place the object! Much like punch a picture mod. This was a must in order to incorporate so many different items into one, and it not be as annoying as hell to get the one you desire.
They feature collision so you have to make sure that you have enough room to place them so they won't collide with other blocks/entities.
They also Now feature velocity and damage!!! You can use them to push and pull objects and kill mobs! They also now have a "redstone mode" so you can control your rotators remotely for mob killing machines
Hold "V" and right click to activate velocity, Shift-V deactivates it. You can have it push using a clockwise rotator, and pull using the counterclockwise spin. Note that the velocity and collision box size change with speed.
Hold "G" to activate the mob grinding feature, and Shift-G to deactivate, note that the damage changes dynamically based on speed.
The best part is, this mod adds entities not blocks so if you remove the mod it should not corrupt your saves as the entities will just cease to exist!
I also plan on eventually adding spinning lights for Lighthouses and creeper emergencies as well
Right click while holding nothing for tiny rotator
B while placing for small
N while placing for normal
M while placing for large
H while placing for Huge/Windmill
R and right click already placed rotator for Rotation speed
C and right click already placed for counterclockwise rotation, Shift-C and right click to revert.
V and right click already placed to add velocity = To push and pull yourself and mobs, Shift-V and right click to deactivate.
G and right click already placed rotator for Mob damage, Shift-G and right click to deactivate.
To activate "Redstone mode" place rotator near a redstone power source when it is originally placed, this will allow on/off control via redstone wires and switches.
Please check out my other mods Minecraft Enhanced, if you enjoy having a dynamic sky featuring moon cycles, and shooting stars as well as skyboxes
I'm making a video now, how do you actually power them?
Simply right click to place them, while holding the numpad number of a larger size of 1,2,3,4 if you desire.
Then right click to toggle between the different textures for that size.
Then to set the speed simply hold the R key while you right click to toggle through the 7 different speeds :smile.gif: shift and R + right click changes the spin direction to counter clockwise so you can have your cogs move properly :smile.gif:
I really took the time to try to do this right, it took a lot of work to get all the bugs out.
No problem mate, if you ever needa video ask me, but, i know this sounds really asky, but could you subscribe and perhaps move the video nearer to the top, because I just started making videos, and it would increase my views alot, but thanks for showing it man :biggrin.gif:
No problem, done and done, your video is a better one anyway because it will save me having to tell people 800 times how to make them rotate :smile.gif: thanks again.
Thanks so much man, can you make good intros by the way?
Honestly If I wanted to I could do really kick ass videos, even with custom music tracks, but I'd rather spend the time making kick ass mods. I've even done frame by frame photoshop special effects and CGI work in the past. Back in the late 90s when that stuff wasn't so mainstream and was still nerdy and not so easy to do like it is now. I actually had a rendering cluster of like 4-5 pentium/2s and sold internet to my nieghbors, I had the only broadband on the block. damn I'm getting old... Oh yah and get off my lawn!
looks great. will download and test today. any idea if cctv mod might conflict- dunno till i try -but cctv mod uses screens like a picture. will try today and see what happens. i really like the idea of this mod. thanx.
edit: works fine with all mods in my sig. thanx cferrill!!

Yeah this should work with any mod really, it's a whole new item type/rendererer.
Don't stop there! Perhaps we should scrap imagination and creativity entirely and not think of new things at all. The beauty and sheer scale of Minecraft is down to mods like this that exponentially open up all sorts of possibilities. Once Minecraft gets set in it's ways, is the time someone else comes along and does something even more creative. I love Minecraft's style don't get me wrong, but I like it's potential even more!!
Umm they are adding pistons, next patch... They are also adding floating islands. How is this "not minecraft like" what does that even mean.Every map I've ever played on people have a windmill built, why would you want it to not move.
This is just wonderful! Unquestionably and amazingly excellent. The fact you've included speed control and placement on ceiling and floor is just incredible. I know for a fact if I can find the time to do some Steampunk textures for this (and I am so frustratingly short of time at the moment!!) anyone who uses my texture pack will be ecstatic over this.
As far as I'm concerned, this is something I've been waiting for since I first began making my own textures for Minecraft, way back in September of last year.
Oh man! I'm running out of words here, but I hope you can sense my excitement. :smile.gif: You win all the internets as far as I'm concerned!
AWSUM! This would make flying castles look amazing :biggrin.gif: AWSUM mod.
BTW- You should make fast blades kill things, That would make my minecraft perfect :smile.gif:

Odd it is working fine for me, that is wierd

Just added a link to my older preview video of the mod, the new movie is lower quality but is a much better representation of the mod.
Simply right click to place them, while holding the numpad number of a larger size of 1,2,3,4 if you desire.

Ah I see, well I posted a link of a much much earlier preview version, that has been up for a bit. The latest video is a much better example.
You can at least see the second video I linked right?
Thanks a million for the video jake, I added it to the OP, great job in such a short amount of time! I'm shocked.

Never a truer word spoken. This is awesomeness personified! The potential is staggering!
