Update: Looks like popular demand has shown that it'd be better if colored granite was made with simply one piece of dye. Looks like I have some more changes to make before I release 1.5 :smile.gif:
EDIT: Change completed. I'm now in the process of creating a new type of arrow; after that I'll release v1.5 :biggrin.gif:
Hello, I am an Admin for the UTD, or Union for Technological Development. Your granite mod has come to the attention of the UTD. We are one of the biggest and most known groups dedicated to the development of Technology in Minecraft and although many people may think of it as "just another block mod" I think it would be great in modern architecture. The UTD would like to offer you membership, and sponsorship of your mod (membership optional)

Thanks Hypuhrr! I'll be sending you a private message momentarily.
Yeah. What do you think of the idea of granite-tipped arrows dealing more damage than regular arrows (3-hit KO for hostile mobs instead of 5), but their flight path is different? Possibly they shoot a shorter distance or something, I dunno.
Add a refined peice of gravel smelted that makes a refined coal that dose 20 smelts that is only stackable up to 16 or make a furnace that you can smelt 3 things on it at a time with one peice of refined coal or a lava bucket
Hmm, not a bad idea for refined coal...it just doesn't make complete sense how one would obtain coal or the materials for coal from a piece of gravel.
I'm trying to decide which features the new furnace should have. I'm going to wait a few days for the poll results to come in, then I'll get started. I noticed you voted, thanks!
I'm liking the look of the new blocks, especially the marble. The refined granite finally looks like something I'd like to make. By that, I mean it actually looks better than normal granite. If I recall correctly, it originally didn't look as desirable. Thank goodness this came before 1.7, because the hassle with 1.6 coming so soon kept me from actually getting this mod. Actually, I'm quite glad 1.7 didn't came out so soon as the rumors said it would. (The Minecraft originally said as early June 1st.) Truthfully though, I'm actually looking forward to 1.7 now that it's more than just the Adventure update.
Oh, and I was thinking of wolf teeth being used for more damaging arrows, with less stopping power awhile back. I don't remember if I said it the previous thread or not though. Honestly, granite shard arrows sound more like something that would pack more stopping power than regular ol' flint, but that's just me. Maybe, refined granite shards could have more stopping power (and thus knock back, kicking those pesky creepers back a block or block and a half, with a chance of stunning them), but slightly less damage. Actually, a type of arrow that stuns every now and then doesn't sound like a bad idea. The chance of stunning them would be like 5-10% or less though, to prevent it being over-powered.
I've always imagined marble would be kind of deep, like gold/ diamond deep or more. Of course, it has to be a bit more common than gold because marble isn't that rare. I just feel it needs to be in a place where a decent amount of pressure would exist or have existed. Oh, and I kind of think you should get a half-block of marble per marble ore, since you are burning/ smelting away the regular stone surrounding it. After all, do you get a whole coal block from coal ore or an iron block from iron ore. I thought about smaller pieces, but that seemed a little too unfair for those trying to build with it. I don't think it should be that hard to get a marble for your floor or even structure. Maybe, it should be slightly less common than iron, but right around the rest of the gold's layer.
Finally, if granite exists in it's unrefined state in our world, why shouldn't it exist like that as well? It just wouldn't be nearly as common as gravel.

"I don't plan to add a new dimension at the moment. It's just to performance heavy on servers, and the current dimensions need more attention before we start adding new ones." < Yeah, like biomes or actual varied terrain in the nether. Nether ruins didn't do the trick at all.

Wolf teeth sounds awesome. I'll look into that. Also, granite-tipped arrows deal 40% more damage than flint arrows, so 3 shots takes out a hostile mob. Marble is slightly more common than gold as of now.
Half blocks, I'll think about. It makes sense, so once I get all the half blocks working I'll probably add it.
I'm trying to decide whether or not granite should be spawned into worlds; if it was, I would have to find a way to make it spawn below a certain level. It'd probably spawn below block level 10, as most rocks like marble and granite in the real world are deep underground.
Cameron not to bug you, but your idea of multiple smelting slots and greater speed seems like a great idea! (BTW, your mod will be on UTD thread when our leader's post suspension is up :biggrin.gif:) Great work, love my granite floors!

New furnace coming as soon as I figure out how to code it. (stating the obvious? :tongue.gif:).
Idea: Granite Shard Bow that fires Wolf Teeth Arrows.
Hmm. I'll most likely add Wolf Teeth Arrows, but I don't see how granite shards could be converted into a bow. Granite doesn't bend (it's a rock, so obviously not lol), but I just had another idea. What about this:
Create a hammer with granite/marble (marble lasts longer).
Create an anvil of some type? I know there are already anvil mods out there.....
Use the hammer to power up a bow?
Suggest more ideas. Should I add the anvil or not?
Right now, I'm trying to decide whether or not to rename the mod. There's so many great user requests and ideas that the mod is now no longer completely focused around Granite. Should the mod be renamed ("CameronK's ModPack", something else?) or should it stay the same? I'll add a new poll momentarily.
Cameron, I tried to put in your mod... but it crashed my minecraft now. I have Xie's Farming mod, More Creeps and Weirdos, and PremiuimWood. Ar these compatible? or am I doing something wrong? From what I understand, you just drag all the class files and the CameronK into the jar. Correct?

Yeah, that should be correct. Weird. There must be some compatibility issues then.
I don't have to install modloader every time I put in a new mod right?
You shouldn't have to reinstall it. I just tested 1.4.2 with a brand new jar and it works, so there's a mod conflict.
Is there a META-INF folder inside your minecraft.jar? If so, delete it and try restarting the game.
This reminds me, I need to put up something on the OP about compatibility. I kinda need some testers too :tongue.gif:
Just a heads up: version 1.4.2 doesn't have the modified crafting recipes. I just updated the adobe picture, but the class files with the changes aren't ready. I don't want to release v1.5 until the arrows are done (which they almost are; if you want to help, head over to this topic).
Hopefully I can have the bugs worked out by tonight. We'll see.

Great job!
Thanks! Much more coming soon (special arrows, probably a new type of furnace).

No problem. More add-ons coming soon :biggrin.gif:
