If you're using the music as an Event, it'll randomly change its "position" if you set the Distance to anything but zero. If it's a Stream, they don't have that option so they play globally, at least they should. From the sound of it though, the music's set as an Event and doesn't have Distance set to zero, so that'll cause the music to play from random directions.
Yeah, it is. That's another thing to use the Designer for, since in order to add the swords you'd need to bring up the interactions_weapons.xml file, then get the ID of the sword and put that into the Sword Sharp list or Sword Soft list, depending on whichever suits the mod sword's material best. A fairly easy way to get the ID of a mod item is to get it into your inventory, then take a look at said inventory with INVedit. It'll show the ID of the item if it doesn't have an image file for it.
I'm assuming "Sword Sharp" and Sword Soft" means if the sword's material, is, say, metal, like iron, or gem-like, like diamond, then it'd be sharp, but if it were made of another material, like, say, the scorpion stingers from the Mo'Creatures mod, then it'd be soft, am I right?
About so, yeah. Generally both materials are hard, but the way I see it, "soft" materials are materials that can't hold a cutting edge like metal or diamond can. If we start going into truly soft materials (like, say, a mod that adds dirt weapons), one could make a new sound set for the weapons so they sound more like how their material would sound.
Yeah, wood for sure. For stone it'd depend on the durability of the stone. The vanilla stone seems durable but isn't equivalent to metal, so it'd probably be too brittle at a sword scale to hold a keen edge. It'd have to be a special kind of stone to justify the more metallic singing sounds the Sword Sharp set uses for swinging.
If you're curious about why i'm asking these questions, it's because I want to add swords from several mods I have into Matmos, so they'll make a sound when swung. But it just seems so confusing, though.
I'm probably making it sound more complicated than it is, really. For the sake of simplicity you could just file the swords that are made of metal or crystal under sharp, and put the ones you're not sure of under soft.
I have just started using Matmos & I love it. I do, however, have an issue. I am getting red X's on a large number of blocks no matter where I am. When I go into the F7 screen & turn off Matmos, they go away. i assume this is from it counting blocks(?) but I am not able to find an option to turn this off, or perhaps this is just an erroneous effect on my machine.
Has anyone ever had this issue, and if so, is there a fix for it?
Thanks in advance,
N
Nevermind, I was playing around again waiting for a reply & figured out that thebutton with the faces, when changed to a 'pig face' for lack of a better description, turned the X's off.
Ah, forgot to reply, but for some reason when I replaced my mono tracks with stereo, there was no need to change anything. Oh well.
Also, the sounds were streams. Not that it matters now that it's magically working.
I have a severe issue with Minecraft 1.5 (I'm talking about the game itself, no mods, no development, just the original game), it takes me 22 seconds to load Minecraft when the antivirus is on watch mode, and 9 seconds when the antivirus is disabled.
I think it has to do with the new texture pack format, I did some debugging and 7 seconds (antivirus disabled) are spent loading just for the original Minecraft texture pack.
I wasn't able to find other people having the same problem, so I can't really post a bug report.
I expected the update of my mods to be longer (no immediate release) due to internal changes I made to the mod I need to be careful with before release, but this unexpected longer loading time just makes it worse
I'll scooping through the last pages of the forum thread to see if I missed some suggestions or requests. Throw it in if needed
Notes regarding some posts in the previous pages:
- My computer wasn't able to run GLSL at all, so I stopped trying and I can't test compatibility issues with it
- Using MagicLauncher is NOT recommended, I know this causes some unexpected headachey issues
- Minecraft playing wrong/random sounds is an issue I cannot diagnose, I just have no idea why it is happening, I can only suggest to try upgrading LWJGL
- About the cricket sounds, nothing stop you from putting it back yourself, all I know that the original sound was annoying to some and the newer sound is annoying to others, so I just removed it. I can put them up to download on the site individually in any case, just drop the file in the right folder and it will work right away
- When "Sounds are turned off in your game settings" error shows up, it's exactly what it says, Minecraft sound is at 0% in your game options
- MAtmos for 1.4.6 works on 1.4.7
- Apparently the Technic Pack is using a very old version Minecraft which feature an old version of MAtmos with a lot of bugs that existed at the time
- For Stonehawk:
- Errors indicating sounds are missing when trying to play them are not critical errors, they are just "informative". Cricket sounds playing are left over to provide backwards compatibility

MAtmos will no longer load in its own thread.
Modified loading messages to display the time taken
Expansion changes
Removed expansion Interactions Extras
Modified interactions_environment so that underwater sound loop also works in creative mode or in situations where oxygen cannot deplete

Sheet changes
Added BlockID of y
Added BlockID of y+1
Fixed Minecarts going undetected
Added new sheets to detect entities in 2-cubic, 5-cubic, 10-cubic and 20-cubic radius around the player
More changes will soon as I'm getting close to the release (ETA: 1 week from now)
Added a new sheet to measure the distance to the closest entity/mob of a certain type within a 50 block radius (if no entity of such type is nearby, the value is set to something very high). This distance in blocks is multiplied by 1000 then floored
Added five new sheets to count the number of entities/mobs located inside five different radii (2, 5, 10, 20, 50)
Hey guys, let us buy Hurricaaane a new PC so we could enjoy MAtmos with GLSL =)
He had a paypal link up. I was willing to draw for people to encourage them to donate. I'm not sure what happened to that paypal link... but if I find out how to locate him in paypal and send money, I am totally going to help that happen.
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. You have to use a document program like Notepad++.
Has anyone ever had this issue, and if so, is there a fix for it?

If not is there an ETA?

I've pretty much finished everything I think I needed to do before a release. I'll push a release in the next 2 days.
I also wanted to look into a better compatibility with the mod Better Sound Mod, but I won't be doing it yet for this release.
