I installed like it was told in the Readme. Everything seems like working fine but i hear no sounds ingame.
It already loaded the sound but nothing happens. Is it compatible with the Oblivion soundpack?
In the installation files, there is a file called mcyu.jar, which is an analysis tool.
Please run this application by double clicking on it, and put the report on pastebin.com and paste the link here.
Why am I hearing seagulls in the middle of the desert? And are random thunder noises normal if you go high enough up?
I've just committed a modification in attempt to fix it. Just restart Minecraft and it should be updated.
Modifications done:
- Beach set now requires of 5% Water source within a 64x32x64 volume (6000 blocks required, 18^3 approx)
- Thundering sets now require rain (In Minecraft, there can actually be thunderstorms without rain, with no visible effects)
I like the way you've done the expansions but it seems we can't use folders with the .xrl's or XML's now?
Not a big deal really but hey ho..
Yes, MAtmos does not load expansions from subfolders of the matmos_expansions_r7/, in future versions I want to expand the system so that expansions are stored in folders with their own data, class files and even sound files that are automatically downloaded if needed.
It now only loads .xrl and .xml files in matmos_expansions_r7/ folder, and if an .xrl fails, then it will load it from matmos_internal/storage/ if it exists. (If a file exists in matmos_internal/storage/ but has no .xrl counterpart, then this file is never read)
In a future version I want to come up with a structure like this:
In the process, matmos_earthlies/sounds/dingdong.ogg and mine/sounds/dingdong.ogg would not conflict.
This is still a project though
A person who make expansions could post in the forums "Try my expansion which detects IndustrialCraft machines, here is the link: http://google.com/whatever" and the player could load it up without installing anything by hand, by pasting this link in-game into a MAtmos window in Minecraft.
The less hassle a person needs to go through in order to install something, the more enclined that person would be to go ahead and try those things (which is the case for Garry's Mod Toybox, the App Store, Android Market, Firefox extensions, Google Chrome Store, and such)
So that's basically what I'd like to do with MAtmos in the future
I've also got this feeling somehow, and I don't know why, I may have messed up the volume calculation formula my demultiplying it by accident.
Anyways, it's not that much of a matter; Hold F7 down to tweak the volume up and down.
I'll add this to the to-do list of potential things to look at
I think it's more of a Minecraft problem than a problem with the mod. I've been having to turn down my music considerably if I want to hear any sounds in Minecraft ever since they did that update to them.
yeah I have done that but when I go to Minecraft and press F7 it says minecraft is still loadig sounds.okay but then when it stops downloading them and I press F7 the game like freezes. It doesnt give any error reports but it like lags there.then I logout and come back and press F7 it says minecraft is still loading the sounds.....
It like pisses me of.the 1.8.1 version was easier to install and it worked fine for me
Do not frenetically press F7 to check if the mod works. Pressing F7 when the engine is waiting for Minecraft to be ready, shows a message telling what is happening, and continues waiting. Pressing F7 when the engine is starting up, shuts it down, so you're basically preventing MAtmos to startup, causing the lag.
Play Minecraft normally and MAtmos should magically load while playing.
If you want to see what's happening in the engine, start Minecraft using a command prompt, with matmos_options.cfg containing the value:
debug.logger.mod.use=3
Some of the wind sounds need some work. In particular, wind_rooftop1 and wind_hit3 stop and start very suddenly, so it's jarring when they start playing, and it sounds unnatural. Also, I guess there are multiple wind sounds overlapping each other, which can sound a little weird sometimes.
I'm also not really a fan of some of the mono sounds, as they also sound a bit unnatural and low quality, notably water_jumpin
I think this mod is a good idea, just needs some tweaks here and there.
one question......will this work with new "pre-relases"?because they add just bugfixes.....
I dont think that it is possible but maybe Optfine can cause it.because there is an option where you can enable/disable smooth input wich disables audio lag
A: (about prereleases) The title of a new Minecraft version does not matter, every single version of the minecraft.jar is a new system, and there is no truth statement: Sometimes it can work, sometimes it will not, and it is more likely that it will not.
If there is a new item, a new mob, or a new anything, the answer is very highly probable to be "no". If there is just a bugfix, the answer is highly probable to be "no".
Actually, in a technical perspective, the answer can be consicely determined (class signatures). But not by juding from the cover, and the version name is a cover.
B: (about optifine) MAtmos release was less than 24 hours ago, so I'm expecting a lot of reports from users in the next days if that's the case.
I love this mod very much. They should put this in minecraft officaly. :smile.gif:
Problem one: Once I download it, I install it with mod loader, but then mcpatcher told me to install the mod on mcpatcher.
Problem two: It won't work with bettergrass mod (sometimes)
Problem three: I mange to install it with mcpatcher with only the zip file in mods folder but the sounds won't load. It saids its downloading them, but 10 min later and i hear notthing
I then manually went in the .minecraft folder, look in the zip file in Matmos, and put all the files in the .minecraft folders. NOW it works but im afriad it didn't load all the sounds. Is it suppose to make noise inside of caves or not?
Please somemake a video on how to install Matmos with mcpatcher.
Anyways, right now it works, but i had to manually install everything myself inset of the downloading it's self because it would do it.
MOD IS GREAT THANKS.
Guys, MAtmos is a great mod, but Hurricaaane isn't going to make it compatible with every single mod out there. Some of the top mods in use today aren't very compatible with other mods.
You are right, but if I recall correctly, it used to work fine back in 1.8 and thus, it makes me unhappy to see it doesn't.
You know what? Remove MAtmos and install that height mod thing. Consider your choice done and sealed.
I do not know why those two mods are incompatible because it shouldn't in the first place. I don't work without error reports so it isn't even helping either. If the issue happens to be completely unrelated to MAtmos but related to how that height mod scrambled over the World classes, there will be no fix. I uttered a certain amount of rage when I found out the technical reason why AudioMod was being incompatible, fortunately I could fix it because the technical situation wasn't ****ed up enough.
Anyways, you're wrong on the 1.8. MAtmos and that height mod are compatible only below the 128th layer of the map. Over that height, MAtmos will not accurately guess at all the environment atmospheres (it will work with the weapon insteractions).
So it's like punching numbers in a pocket calculator and assume it worked because it shows numbers on the display.
My game doesn't seems to download the sounds files :sad.gif:
After 20 minutes of gameplay it still display this message when i press f7
If you can upload sounds files...
The sounds files the message is talking about are not MAtmos' but Minecraft's (the official Minecraft sounds and music).
If you're sure you already have everything downloaded from Minecraft, there it may be a bug worth looking into (a similar issue has been reported 3 times); Should you post a MCYU report and/or the list of mods you're using...
There might be MAtmos r9 Tuesday is there are enough bug reports so I can pinpoint the exact issue underlying it.
Too many hours in this game, I tell ya.

Quick feedback, wind is kinda weird, it sometimes overlap. Ex. Im in my not-so-undeground house and mountain wind-alike starts to play :S
Everything else: AWESOME!
Edit: It appears there is an option under controls for Matmos, but it is obscured by the done button. Can't be sure.
