A bit of technical details for those who can understand this a bit
sounds very good!
I wonder if this could be made onto a java library that would just be attached on minecraft? but could also... lets say... run "standalone"?
In this video, the expansions take some time to load because:
- It is threaded
- I quickly resumed the singleplayer world right after starting Minecraft, in most cases MAtmos is ready to run as Minecraft is still in the menu
- Fraps is running on a slow computer (I have 2007-esque computer)
- There is debug code running which takes more time on the thread (i.e. printing more than a thousand lines of debug codes in the console).
It wouldn't be so slow when released.
However this will happen for sure on a newly installed Minecraft, and MAtmos will tell you that it's normal when pressing F7.
There is still quite a decent amount of work remaining (even though from the outside, it seems to work quite well)
But I have to say the toughest part of the work (the critical work needed to accomplish the basic functionality) is done

MAtmos Engine is already standalone (matmos.engine Java package), it does not depend on Minecraft.
I could take MAtmos Engine, re-wire it onto real life sensors, or on a statistics system, for instance generating ambiance music when the stock market goes down or when lots of tweets are popping up on Twitter and it would work.
However the Expansion Loader system is not standalone but it could have been
I love the weapon sounds, but the sound for sprinting doesn't seem to fit at all (in my opinion). Is there a way to turn off individual sounds easily, or is that coming in a future update?
You know, without this mod, the game feels REALLY naked to me.
when I updated 1.0.0, I felt really lonely without the sounds playing, I don't know why.
I constantly have to listen to music to avoid that horrible silence from the game.
I'll be glad when this is updated, you did an excellent job with this mod and you got a lot of us hooked, Keep up the great work and take your time, I'm sure the new release will get me even more hooked.

The music is from Terraria, and I believe that's not the sprinting sound, sounds like a Aperture Science portal opening. :')
This mod is awesome! I can't wait for it to update. I also suggest you create an IRC channel (In Esper?) dedicated for discussion of this mod.
I do not like some of the new stuff, like the Terraria music, (belongs in Terraria) I don't like the sprinting sound, that belongs in TF2 (and Portal, respectively.)
I do like the ambient music, like the birds chirping and the wind and stuff.
I do think the volume needs worked on, it's nice that everything has the chance to be turned down, (I like it at 50% or less.)

Yeah...sorry if the quality is bad..I had to scale it.
Agreed, it shows us progress and let's us know that the dev is actually working on it. It's the way things should be done.
Quite, quite. And based on the goals progress, perhaps this will be done and released later today! A neat little progress bar made of the wool icons would be nice too, though. Nt complaining, just suggesting.
Anyone got "minecart.mp3" on their disk?
It's the concept sound C418 posted on Reddit for a moving minecart. The original link has vanished from his website, and I couldn't find any mirrors of this file on Google (minecraftwiki points to the dead link on C418's website).
Tried keywords:
"minecart sound"
"minecart.mp3" c418
"minecart.mp3" -last (filtering out "the last minecart.mp3")
and a whole bunch of other stuff
I'm trying to add a Minecart moving sound before release.

Ah got it, wasn't sure if it was just a placeholder, thanks for confirming.
The sound he makes while sprinting is a mix of Portal 2 sounds and the sound you make after being whipped in Team Fortress 2.

Ah ok, probably just a placeholder though.
This guy obviously codes in his evenings/weekends. Great work! Hope to enjoy the soothing sounds of MATMOS again soon.

I play Slave Hack, give it a try!

Sadly I don't see it anywhere, although I could've sworn I had it on my desktop a few weeks ago.. Sorry :/
