Lastly, is there anyway to have Matmos run without having to download the sounds or whatever? Since sound mod enabler prevents Minecraft from updating sounds to enable custom ones to overwrite normal sounds.
Pretty nice mod, some of the sounds are a bit..odd. Like sounding like water is near by even though the closes water source is a 2x2 infinite water source. And the cave sounds, there's a bit. too much sometimes.
I tried to use the weapon/tools expansion thing, but..I figured out it doesn't work with tools/weapons added from other mods.. Would anyone happen to know if there's a file I can edit to tell it which item IDs count as what? So I could add the couple of custom tools?
I know its a bit of a hack, but to enable sounds for modded weapons/tools, you're going to want to edit the weapons_interactions.xrl file to use the wrong url, so the mod reads the \.minecraft\matmos_internal\storage\weapons_interations.xrl.xmlo. Then, edit the .xmlo file to use whatever item ids for the tools/weapons you want (note: "soft" tools/weapons are wood and stone, "sharp" tools/weapons are iron, diamond, and gold). I hope this helped, and if you want a detailed explanation (screen cap. or just code examples) then pm me.
(BTW, for those who didn't know, sound packs updated to include MAtmos compat.)

Argh, and I just figured out a workaround, too:
1. find and download a totally silent .ogg file
2. overwrite the sound files you want to replace
3. make them read-only (remove your own write access) so Minecraft can't overwrite them like it normally does
Awesome mod man! When i was playing my survival map and it started raining, wow the sounds were freaking amazing! They were just like real life sounds! Amazing job, i'd rate it over 10 if i could.
Hello,I want to know if there is some way to skip the resoures update? I use the soundmodenabler to change the CD music, then the MAtmos always be disabled because and says the game is downloading the resoures.

I have yet to run into any issues with this mod and good sized list of other mods I run, and a bunch of them are Forge based.
There is an incompatibility with the latest recommended version of Forge (3.2.5.121), but downgrading to version 3.2.5.120 fixed the problem for me.
I received a NullPointerException error when trying to use v.121:

seems like the actual forge version (3.2.4.114) kinda disables the whole F7-function
as soon as i add forge to minecraft, i cant control matmos.. i press the key but nothing happens
tried in a clean jar with nothing but modloader inside: works fine
added forge: F7 doesnt work anymore
i'm going to look for the latest working version of forge
Edit: seems like latest working version is 3.2.3.108
'nother edit: Probably cause since build 109, forge has included its own modloader and does no longer require risugamis modloader... probably overwriting some stuff
its not high-priority, as no mod i know needs forge 109+, but i hope it will be compatible in future releases
I'm having this problem as well, using Forge 3.2.5.120. As a workaround, I manually edit the matmos_options.cfg file (found in the .minecraft folder) and change the line "volume.generic.value" to be equal to something less than 1.0 (e.g. 0.5 is 50%).
Can anyone help me, I know that it said it in the description but it just says loading ambiant sounds or whatever and i searched the forums and i couldent find anything about it and if installed it multiple times and it keeps doing it.Does anyone know how i can fix it. PS:I do have modloader insalled AND I have optifine, does that screw it up? Can someone help me?
Still a must-have-mod after all this time. I just started up Minecraft again after leaving back at the beginning of 1.8.
Do any of the sounds mean anything though? While mining deep down I keep hearing what I guess is a large dragon or something but I haven't found anything. I thought maybe it meant I was near a dungeon. It plays pretty frequently too. Maybe a little too freqently.
Anyway, a stupendous mod I'd recommend to everyone. Well done.
I love this mod! You are amazing I've always wanted better sounds to minecraft! I love it so much that if I uninstall it... I always reinstall because minecraft is to plain with out it! 10/10 and I have seen alot of popular youtubers using it you're one lucky modder
I have a problem that's quite unique from the others.

Ignore the wolf stuff, it's since I have wolves. It may be related to the problem though.
The problem is that whenever the rain sound effect ends, ALL ingame sound stops. I end up having no sound.
This is very odd, without the mod I don't have this problem.
I installed the mods and had no issue with them. Some things do lag a bit, like the unnecesary sound affect for fire, considering it already has a looping sound effect...
I must say, the atmospheric sound for the Nether is beautifully creepy. I enjoy this, as it is my prime place of existence. I had some crashing issues in the Nether that I never before experienced, but that may be completely unrelated.
I tried to use the weapon/tools expansion thing, but..I figured out it doesn't work with tools/weapons added from other mods.. Would anyone happen to know if there's a file I can edit to tell it which item IDs count as what? So I could add the couple of custom tools?

Ah well. Soundpacks is way better anyway.
