funny how people aren't posting...not even crashes. Hmm...

Playing since Beta 1.3_01. Yeah. I like BTW. Or used to. Still do. Stuff Technic. (Back in the day...)

And so I return! Sorry about my lack of input, I've been off on vacation.
Anywho, down to business. About the more durability for stone- and iron-crafted tools: This was one of the original ideas for the mod, and I would love to see it re-implemented. I'm not really sure how necessary the reinforced materials are, but if they further increase durability, then I'm all for it. Can't go wrong with more durability. The important part is to make sure that the durability scales appropriately for the amount of resources spent on a tool or weapon.
For SMP, I would love to see this mod for SMP. A few buddies and me are planning on putting together a server soon, and I would love to carry this mod into that endeavor.
The coal blocks seem to be just fine to me. You find a whole lot of coal, and the coal blocks makes storage much, much easier. The ability to get a diamond out of a super-compressed coal block is nice, because I have occasionally just been unlucky and not found a single diamond in my worlds. This feature allows the harvesting of obsidian and crafting of the best sword, at a severe investment of coal. Trying to make diamond armor using this, I think, would be absurd unless you just had the most ridiculous abundance of coal I've ever seen, so I think it's balanced just fine.
Speaking of obsidian, are the obsidian weapons/tools still in the game? I know for a while there was a lot of question on what exactly to do with them.
Another feature I would like to see make a return is the iron furnace, which makes smelting and cooking more fuel-efficient. Not sure exactly what materials would be required or the exact ratio of improved smelting, but it certainly was nice to have when it was around.
For the tools, I rebalanced them so that it is a good ratio for materials to uses(I'll get some numbers up in a bit)
I'm glad to hear that people are interested in SMP. I honestly would love this for my server so I'll end up doing it anyways.
For the Coal Blocks, I was just wondering. There isn't anybody saying that it is OverPowered or anything so I'm cool with it.
I took the Obsidian Tools out, and I have no plans to put them back in, unless I can figure out a good balance for them. I'm open to suggestions on this one.
I've been thinking a lot about the Iron furnace honestly, but I don't like the fact that it is made out of iron. I'm probably going to make a new rare magma safe stone that you make a new furnace out of(a furnace that has unlimited fuel should be hard to get)

On the obsidian tools, probably the best way to work it is to simply make them the next "step up" from diamond, and include an additional step in the crafting of some sort. Something simple, like tempering or something for the ingots.
As far as the furnace, perhaps that could be another thing crafted from our hypothetical obsidian ingots. The old idea was also that in order to use the super-furnace without fuel it would have to be placed immediately above magma, which I think is a pretty cool idea. But the crafting certainly needs to be something impressive. The hardest substances to get are diamond, obsidian, gold, and glowstone, right? Perhaps some combinations of those, including some glowstone or diamond into the crafting process overall.
Well right now I'm trying to get something together for an update(Computers keep crashing with the team)
Honestly I haven't looked on that idea post for a long time.I think it needs an update.
As for the video, I would love to see it. Please upload it and link it in the forum.

I really like the mini me addition, didn't see that one coming.
Thinking of it, if this ever becomes SMP compatible, it'd be cool to get the option to play a "Dwarf" or a "Human". Think of how fun that'd be, secret underground kingdoms.
Anyways, good work. Keep it up, looking forward to it.

One step ahead of you on that one. I'm already working on it. Although I'm just not sure how to implement it.

I can't help with coding, but I do have an idea.
GAMEPLAY APPROACH
In this option, you would have to find one of those MUSHROOM MEN that you added and kill it. Eating the resulting mushroom permanently turns you into a dwarf on that server.

I've been looking at the coal blocks and I'm unsure if they are balanced.
Would anybody mind giving some input?
Also does anybody want this to be SMP? (Mini-me and DwarvenCraft)

A very lengthy and strung out creation process would make the furnace a lot more balanced. Again I'll see what I can come up with.

Maybe make it randomized?
