Well, I had a idea for genetics whenever you start thinking about it, if you aren't already. It would be cool if we could say, inject ourselves with a serum, and have a 5% chance to 15% chance of getting a certain power. Otherwise, there would be a 15% chance we would get poisoning, or a disease of some sort that could only be cured by you in the time you had left to live and make it. The other chance would be you just passing out or something. It would also be awesome if you could do this to someone else, and have a chance of giving them a power, or poisoning like if you did it to you. However, it would be cool if instead of the other chance being whatever, they would turn into one of those bulb looking dread swarm things, slowly spreading infection around and turning people into the dread swarm and, unless you destroyed it, it would turn the city into a nest.
ok i have a couplemore ideas (beware i just spent several hours on fallout wiki!)
1:a sentry bot esque robot not necesarrily resembling a sentry bot but definetly a formidable opponent or great ally its up to you
2 it would be awesome if we could construct our own robots. kinda like spore you put in a chassis a couple types of appendages maybe an arm like thing with a weapon in it (one that you approve of obviously!) and we then construct our robot.this would probably be very hard to do but most definetly worth it!
3: extremely cheap robot guards. something that you could make like 50 of and deploy around your base they could have almost no armor and weak weapons but be EXTREMELY cheap.
4:notch said something about modders being able to change the height of the map. you could keep the height of the engicraft world (we need a name for it!) very low because we used up a bunch of the atmosphere powering robots or something like that

Now, Gurgadurgen, I could be like the piles and piles of people proclaiming "Can you update thisssss plzzz!?", but I just wanted to say, that I've needed to upload files to the internet before, with no internet connection, my solution was just to grab a USB storage device, pop over to the library, and upload it there. So in the event you needed to upload/download something, trips to the library for free internet is a good idea.

Well I was seeing which was going to release first, this or IC2. IC2 is two weeks away from SMP release and I fully understand that gurgadurgen is solely coding this on her own. The problem is in the past weeks while monitoring this thread the mod is getting bigger and bigger. It is becoming apparent that this mod is going to be a long term project with no definitive release date to it. I also understand that IC2 has 5 coders and a couple of spriters working on it and it is just one person here.
As a server admin I have to make that choice on what we add to our server, and after discussing it with my friends we have decided to move on to IC2 (everyone is already playing with the first public release for SSP now). I am sorry, but I do hope that you do finish this mod one day and if it doesn't conflict with all of our other mods then we will add it to the mix.

if gurgadurgen's word is worth anything ( and it definitely is) it will be 100% compatible with most everything especially mods using the minecraft forge. and the idea that IC2 has 5 coders and a few spriters working on it vs engicraft which has.. Gurgadurgen coding/spriting/being awesome and loki/rabid fans running troll control here ( troll control that sounds kind of cool :biggrin.gif: ) that just makes me think of gurgadurgen and her creation in an even higher light. imagine what she could do with a team of clones? dun dun dun... probably take over the world through minecraft... somehow...

It's not so much that it's getting bigger and bigger, as much as that I've been filling in the gaps :tongue.gif: The borders were set when I announced it, initially, I just hadn't announced all the borders XD. Since then, I've sorta filled in at least concepts for everything in between.
This is the main issue with how people have been nagging me about finishing it: I started with the beginning and the end. I can't release it until I have the middle finished :tongue.gif:
As for your server question thingy... seeing as how I don't feel like building ten billion quests to keep the content new, I've been working on a system that would essentially allow the player (in ssp) or the server owners (for smp) to control what assignments will be available. You'll be using custom-made maps to do it, as well. However, while this feature may have to wait til after launch, I can promise you it -will- be part of the game. If there's something I know about minecraft, it's that everything added to it should have nigh infinite possibilities, so if I add quests, I've got to add custom quest making. It's still in the embryonic stages, currently, but it will get there :happy.gif: (the quest system, not the whole mod XD).

the simple fact that you said war hog then emphasized that you didn't say warthog makes me sad for humanity -.- also from this i infer that the barbarian tribe/race/faction has war-hogs! giant pigs with which to carry their soldiers into battle!
also i thought something up the other night, what about a placeable block that when it is powered, ( not by redstone but something with more juice like a generator or something ) it looks in a straight line in one of 5 directions ( up,down,left,right and forward ( up being actually UP ) for another one of the same block within 20 blocks, if it finds one it creates a laser or some type of beam between the two blocks ( only one requires power but the unpowered one won't search for another one its essentially just a receiver without power of its own) the beam could either destroy anything that walks through it, or damage it a lot. or it could just stop movement through it. someone suggested blocks that when powered spew out tornadoes. i personally like the idea of block based weapons quite a bit. this is obviously more defensive but you could potentially use it as a trap by turning it off and waiting for your target to come through then turning it on :biggrin.gif: i don't know i just thought that was interesting :biggrin.gif:

If the player was to escape prison then they would be shot on sight in the town. If the player tried to run more then 10 blocks away from guards while collecting then they would be shot at by the guards and the town would shoot at the player on sight. It would be better to just pay or work off bail as they would get their items when they were released. The items could still be stolen back. Occasionally when you see other prisoners collecting resources there is a rare chance that one would try to escape, ultimately resulting in the guards killing them and cutting the trip short to take all of the prisoners back.

You could add more to the escape part if you are held in cells with furniture like a bed and a toilet you could possibly make tools using trays bed legs and broken porcelin (from the toilet :tongue.gif: ) they would be really weak though....turn a fork into a shiv...

umm... i think this mod was always headed that way :/
i honestly have so many mods i probably won't even update to 1.8 -.- especially if this mod isn't compatible with 1.8 when it comes out. or if like this mod comes out for 1.7.3 and then a day later 1.8 is out. ill probably hid my minecraft jar somewhere other than default and have a 1.7.3 forever and one minecraft for 1.8...
honestly, I think its going to be easier on gurg to not release it before 1.8. I mean, once everything is down for the mod, it won't take half as much time as developping the mod (I hope) to update it to a new minecraft version. and with 1.8 estimated to be out within a week or two...
