Where is/are your mod/s? Have you written any? If so is it anywhere near as big? The last "CLEAN" version of minecraft is 1.4.7 You want her to update the mod constantly and never add anything to it? That will kill a mod. Go get multimc and play 1.4.7 with all your OP mods because you really don't need a hopper that badly.
I haven't. But if I ever wrote a mod and it was proven awesome and then I couldn't keep up with the game version, I'd GIVE IT AS A GIFT to someone who COULD. I don't give a damn about tons of possible new content as long as I can't get major game/modpack update just because someone didn't bother to quickly adapt existing content to latest version and then work on new contents without making trouble to others. If she can't do it alone - no one stops her from establishing contacts with other modmakers and making an efficient team.
Amen to that. Could not have said it better.
I basically moved on and replaced redpower with alternatives, there are plenty out there if you bother looking.
for <insert name of favorite deity> sake! don't be such a fanboy. A mod dev that does not communicate and fails to deliver (due to whatever reasons) should be criticized.

I am a fan because I understand what she is doing and I agree with her! I am not begging her to update, if you had actually read my post you would realize that, I said I have alternatives until she updates. You want to jump into a conversation and attack people when you have no idea what's going on.
If she gave this mod to someone as a gift to update every week the mod would completely die period! No one knows the code better than she does and it would take atleast 3-4x longer for anyone else to update it other than her. Then to be expected to have it updated every week? That person would give up and pass it to someone and they gave up and so on until everyone gives up. Would makes you think anyone would want that responsibility/embarrassment?
*Sigh* And so it starts again. I wonder, how long before it escalates so much that the moderators have to step in and delete a couple of pages. Not even going to try to ask you people to stop, since it apparently is useless.
Strangely, this may motivate me to make a plastic bag mod, where the bags can give you some extra inventory, but if you drop them in a body of water the bag goes around choking squid to death.

Minecraft is a wonderful thing. RP2 is an awsome mod but it doesnt control anything about minecraft. Unfortunately for redpower2 mods are being created whenever a need for them arise. Not updating a mod in time creates a need and I'll bet some even better mods are now being created as a result to this "need" (Power Crystals has some pretty nifty ideas). I would not be surprised that if Redpower2 does not update before long then there wont be a point to its update unless some new and useful content is introduced. I am already looking at installing replacement mods and if I do this then chances are I wont ever use Redpower again. I have found mods that nearly replace everything so now its probally a race for the Redpower2 1.5.2 release. From what I can tell I don't see that happening.

I'm not being rude to anybody, I just don't understand why people absolutely have to have the lastest version of minecraft modded. They added hoppers right? Do we really need hoppers when we are using mods? Nothing wrong with modding it, it's just sad that people go into a rage because a mod isn't updated to 1.5.1 when it still has bugs that will require additional updating in new 1.5.x versions. Modders will get more added to the mods if they don't update so frequently which means more content for us in the long run. "Good things come to those who wait..." was it? I use Multimc I can play 1.4.7 if I want and I can also play 1.5.1 both are there with their own save files. When 1.5.x is clean/finished and my mods are up to date, I'm planning to use that until 1.6.x is clean/finished. If she didn't have 1.4.7 working by now then I could understand the frustration, but the 1.4.7 version is working.

The arguing is pointless, but Elo's behaviors are divisive, so what can you do?

The fact that there are mods that add the same features as RP is irrelevant. Eloraam doesn't update the mod for the community. She does so because she likes to play with it. It is her hobby. She will continue to update the mod for as long as she wants to play with it. Other mods have nothing to with that.
As for not using RP, even if a substitute is present for all the features this mod adds, I won't be stopping using it. All the features of Buildcraft have better alternatives (in 1.4.7). RP manages the tubes and the pump. Railcraft adds tanks and engines. BC pipes adds energy transport and liquid transport and so on. But still I have it, and I use it.
I'm not being rude to anybody, I just don't understand why people absolutely have to have the lastest version of minecraft modded.
Really, for you 1.5.1 is only hoppers? The fact that there are tons of bug fixes and game content in "1.5.1 only" mod versions is ignored completely. I just don't understand why people absolutely have to demand from others to not complain (even when complaints are completely deserved) and deprive themselves of tons of fun and features just because someone can't update on time.
Please read the entire post and just think about it for a few minutes. No insults just my opinion of what is going on and how we can fix it. I could be wrong, but you won't know if you don't read it and consider it. I want to improve MineCraft for everybody. We all have one HUGE thing in common MINECRAFT!!! Yet we have a community that is torn apart and inefficient.
I not trying to argue with people or stir people up, I'm actually trying to help people. The way I look at it is 1.5 and 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 are NOT for people who mod, they are for people who play vanilla. 1.4.7 which is stable/clean and finished is for people who DO mod, If you mod there usually isn't anything you need from 1.5/newest version anyway. I'm not saying that mods should never update, but there is way too much pressure and insults being tossed at the modders if they don't update to 1.5, 1.5.1, and 1.5.2 immediately. They are torn because they have to choose between giving you more content, or constantly updating (really boring...). There is a cycle that would be the most efficient in the long run if you want to improve your MineCraft experience so here it is.
Okay so 1.5/newest version comes out, this is what I think should happen. They should keep adding to the 1.4.7 mod adding new stuff and features once they are relatively stable and clean, and support it with fixes and improvements. Modders should not update their MineCraft, if it ain't broke don't fix it. When the finished, stable/clean version of 1.5.x/ect. comes out, they should work on updating it. Players should not update their MineCraft until all the mods they want have been updated as well, and if one is behind throw them some ENCOURAGEMENT and SUPPORT. A lot fewer mods will die off if the modders are not harassed/ridiculed all the time. With this system you should always have a relatively stable/clean modded MineCraft at all times, it would also maximize productivity. This means that the mods will improve our MineCraft experience overall at a much faster rate. I wouldn't be surprised if Eloraam is working with 1.4.7 which many people have already dropped, she isn't hiding anything from us. This would set in place what is universally to be expected from BOTH sides. I'm not saying there won't be occasional exceptions, some awesome new feature, as long as the version is stable/clean, it doesn't have to be finished, but it has to be something significantly worth it. Maybe even have the modders agree to what version they will update to, if some want to update more often they can. As long as the agreed version if readily available.
But here's the twist, what is really going on here? Ultimately I think people are getting bored, and are anxiously awaiting the new version of MineCraft hoping that it will somehow spark the life back into MineCraft. SOME NOT ALL are getting more excitement or even a high out of harassing/ridiculing and criticizing/trash talking, than they do from playing the game. If the mods aren't updated immediately, they go TURBO! Others get caught up in the drama, they pick a side, then you have fights and arguments breaking out. This is what breaks Eloraam's heart, she can't stand the drama anymore. She wants to improve the MineCraft experience for all of us.
So why are people getting bored? I think it's because their MineCraft is overloaded with mods, making the game too easy. All of a sudden building anything you want is a breeze, and there is no challenge because your armor is indestructible... I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with having a lot of mods, but I think people need to attempt to preserve the balance (which Notch/Jeb have/are delicately trying to maintain) in their MineCraft.
So how do we decide what is balanced and what isn't? I propose that we don't! I thought of a system it's in my earlier post.
You are speaking too much from your own perspective and mod load-out... ...and you're trying to bring too much 'general minecraft modding' material into this one specific instance.
As far as 1.5.x not being for people who play modded minecraft- wrong... bug fixes. that's all there is to it. It's been months since 1.5.x was released and pretty much every mod that could need it has updated AND released at least one bugfix. Having RedPower2 in our loadout prevents us from having less bugs because we are not able to apply even Forge bugfixes since the last 1.4.7 release. No Minecraft bugfixes, no Forge bugfixes and no 'other-mod' bugfixes. (And on the subject of importance of bugfix releases... 1.4.6\7 bugfixes across all mods reduced the frequency of crashes on my server by over 200%). You speak of a stable\clean minecraft release... ain't gonna happen if users are stuck on old versions unable to update their game to provide latest-version-crash-reports.
Another thing that you do not seem to be taking into account is the fact that this is has becomeing standard for Eloraam. Aside from the magnitude being less due to a smaller fanbase and less relevancy... new MC version... couple of tweets to say she's working on it... months of silence... drama and fighting in the community... more silence... it goes round and round so in some small way the 'harassment she gets' is a product of her own creation. She breeds this resentment through the manner in which she conducts herself.
And there-in lies the foolishness... it could all be easily avoided and we'd all be better off for it. But she can't be bothered... nor should we expect her to be bothered (<---sarcasm).
Respect goes two ways. Apparently she has very little for the Minecraft community-at-large considering her willingness to remain silent when factions of the community are tearing each other apart on her account.
You certainly are a feisty one. My modpack includes RP2 at its CORE, and here I am supporting Eloraam, not begging/criticizing her for not having a 1.5.1 version. I'm using 1.5.1 because I'm addicted to the sixtygig texture pack plus I have the shaders working for it and it's too much work to try to update all of it for 1.5.2 and I'm not even programming mods, this is just updating a modpack testing new things and all that, I can't go back to 1.4.7. Am I angry that's my modpack is incomplete? No I'm not, I'm excited because it has so much potential, I have several mods I'm so excited about and I'll be able to use most and hopefully all of them. I'm encouraging them and supporting them because I like their ideas. I'm not thinking about now, I'm thinking about later. So If your not in my position and your modpack is complete, why leave 1.4.7? You would have RP2. I support her and I am willing to wait, You don't support her and you are not willing to wait... Why is that? The reason your mods are acting up like that is because some modders are working with 1.5.1 rather than still using 1.4.7 If all the modders had agreed on 1.4.7, forge would have no need to go beyond 1.4.7. Communities aren't communities without communication. You just have to do some research to get all the versions matching but you'll lose some of the latest stuff, if we were all on 1.4.7 we would have all latest stuff except vanilla hoppers...
-Another rant about how everyone should stop the progress because his pet dev is slow-
All I want is up-to-date feed the beast, where minecraft and mods are made better than they are in 1.4.7. If I could have everything neatly packed as it is for 1.4.7, I'd be happy. But I don't feel like throwing everything out, bothering with configurations, ID conflicts and possible gamebreaking crashes and bugs. Support Eloraam as much as you want - It's her to blame in stripping FTB users of the latest minecraft and mod versions.
Excuse me? So how much money did you spend on this free mod to turn you into a "customer" that has earned the right to complain about anything? I don't care if Eloraam comes on daily to insult the entire Minecraft community and call her fans morons, nobody has earned that right. She doesn't owe anybody anything and nobody "deserves" an update. Especially not with people like you around.

I understand what you are saying, but If you could imagine for a second the system I proposed in action. Everyone agreed to 1.4.7, all mod progress would stay with 1.4.7, forge would stay with 1.4.7 everything would work. The problem is for some reason there are people who think they need vanilla hoppers This will never get better if we don't fix it. Not only that but mods won't have to spend so much time and energy updating as often and/or working with/around MineCraft bugs that are Mojang's responsibility not theirs. This means more content for us in the long run! Eloraam is doing exactly what she should be doing, the problem is that people don't understand why she's doing it. If people drop 1.4.7 there is no point updating new content because people won't use it. If we can all communicate and understand this she will be seen.
You are speaking too much from your own perspective and mod load-out... ...and you're trying to bring too much 'general minecraft modding' material into this one specific instance.
