Here's my solution for cobble, dirt, and gravel from a Quarry. It uses two Filters and a Timer:
Sorry I don't have a shot of the Quarry in operation, but it hit bedrock and there's nothing more to be mined.
This setup worked like a charm. A Relay transferred the output from the Quarry into the tube. Anything valuable travels straight to the item tesseract for transmission back to my home dimension (this quarry is in a MystCraft Age so I don't mess up my main world).
The first Filter grabs all the cobble, dirt and gravel and deposits it into a chest.
The second Filter, in response to a timer, tries to grab stacks (or partial stacks, in the case of gravel) out of the chest.
This can make a big difference in reducing the number of item stacks flowing around, and thus reduce lag.
At my base all the extra cobble and dirt (and anything else from other sources) is made into scrapboxes for conversion to UU matter.
I'm gonna make a private modpack using your mod. I want to ask permission. I will make no profit nor anyone else, except maybe if someone is nice and gives me money for no reason. This will only be available to a group of my friends and I will run the ONLY server using it unless someone makes a copy of my modpack by pure chance. I will use the FTB private modpack system and credit will be given to you right in the middle of the description where it is hard to miss.
So uh does anyone know whats going on now? I mean with 1.5.2 are we gonna have to wait another few months or is the update not that bad? wish we would get more word from the modder its all confuzzling
Does anyone have or know of a good 64x texture pack for Prerelease 6? The one I used hasn't been updated since 1.2.4 so it's missing a few of the new additions.
Eloramm may i use the red power mods for a private pack for a closed minecraft server? We will be recording on the server and will give credit where credit is due. Please respond at [email protected] with your answer
Folks are creating permissions posts in an attempt to please Feed The Beast's modpack team, who have directed server admins wishing to use FTB's private pack distribution service to request permission from the mod authors when not granted an open license for private packs elsewhere. For example, SirSengir of Forestry and BuildCraft fame has only requested that admins link back to his page, and so we do that in our mod files. Eloraam has asked admins to request permission in the thread.
The only opinions and perspectives that matter to that process are Eloraam and the FTB team. Your opinion, Ultimoos, is irrelevant to that process.
sigh I miss this mod so much <3 I do wonder if we will ever see it again bc knowing minecraft 1.6 will be coming soon and more Eloraam wont be able to mod in time and it could be a year or more b4 we see it or at least many months *sniffles* I know the real life thing but it does not stop me from missing one of my fav mod packs I hope she is doing well and is handling everything ok <3
I'm hoping Eloraam sees this, as she specifically mentioned to post in this thread (quoted above, from the original post), however I know that thread on this forum can move very quickly and it is very likely that my request will not be seen by her.
Eloraam most likely wont be seeing this. At least not for quite a while. She hasn't been on the forums for around 8 months.
im only following the rules stated by her just to be safe really, i know she probably wont see it but its best to keep to the mod authors rules
First off... this isn't specific to you 'leelawd'. Problem is that even by following her rules, nobody ever gets a response which means that nobody can use her mod in a mod pack.

Here's the deal:
- Established modpacks or private server packs only. If your post
count is below 100, and your modpack is less than a month old, I'll just say
no. A "private server pack" refers to a modpack intended to be used by a
closed membership Minecraft server and distributed only to those members.
- You must have my permission. Post on this thread.
- Proper credit and attribution. "RedPower by Eloraam", with a link to this thread, is a suitable example.
- Non-commercial, non-profit mod packs only. If you're going to bundle my mod, you can't use adf.ly or similar for the compilation pack. I'm OK with giving my work away, but not having someone else profit from it.
Everyone claiming that private packs do not need permission are wrong based on the terms as written.
Requirements:
Established OR Private Packs only: check - private pack
Proper Credit\Attrition: check - stated
Permission: When was the last time Elorram actually confirmed permission? Initial FTB?
Non-Commercial\Non-Profit: check - I presume...
It doesn't say 'Must request permission', It says 'must have my permission'... anything less than explicit allowance (direct acknowledgement on her part) is less than required.

NO ONE is claiming they don't need permission, but everyone is saying its almost impossible to get said permission. 'Crowd rule' states to make said modpack and if Eloraam or another mod author states to 'Please remove my mod' you do so out of respect and apologize. Eloraam's only correspondence with anybody in the minecraft community has been through her recent posts on twitter and no where else. So 'must have my permission' clause is simply point blank useless. Now what I am saying is rather radical, but its the truth. Basically it's a 'at your own risk' policy I'm proposing.

1) I have seen responses to similar posts that basically state 'if it's a private server pack you don't need permission'. this is true of other mods, but not this one. In the terms there are no mentions of exclusions for private packs.
2) 'Crowd rule' is valid now? So the majority feels it's okay to distribute copyrighted works in mp3 format and that makes it okay?
3) I think month old is stretching 'recent'. maybe you meant 'most recent'...
4) ...unless the person that states the requirement fulfills their part of the arrangement.
5) I suspect that the mod developers will likely object to your proposal.
I'm pretty sure I understand what's going on, she is a perfectionist, nothing bad or wrong with it I am too. A lot of people have no idea how much work is going on here, modding takes time and RP2 is a big and awesome mod. She is probably rewriting a lot of RP2 maybe splitting things into modules and stuff like that. A lot of people are unhappy right now, but she knows that she is going to be dealing with a new api eventually so she probably wants to add less stuff for the moment, less to convert, and make what she has better as well as an easier conversion. Someone is gonna try to replace it, go right ahead, when she's done it won't be long before she blows it out of the water and you just wasted your time. Honestly it's silly to update to 1.5 right away because look at how fast 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 came out and would need new updates how much stuves is she gonna be able to add/improve if she is constantly updating? I think she likes to wait until Mojang is happy with the version and has fixed all the bugs before she updates, why waste your time? She is not a slave guys she is an awesome talented modder, just wait, she will BLOW YOUR MINDCRAFT!
You want her to come out of her shell? Stop harassing her! Then thank her for not dumping the mod in the midst of all of it like I'm about to do, THANKY YOU ELORAAM!!! I don't understand this talk about replacements either, I see RP2 as well as BuildCraft and/or IndustrialCraft, Equivalent Exchange, ThaumCraft, and a few other mods as CORE mods. They each individually add to minecraft in a mostly balanced way, cough EE cough (they'll find a balance). I pick 1, if i do BD and IC2 I turn off quarrys, basically the whole auto build module and the suits/weapons that are retardly/retardedly (Couldn't decide ) OP, EE ones are OP too and the BD pipes are a little easy to make they can keep everything basically the same just make a pipe building block (require atleast some ironblocks maybe a diamond or two, 1 building material in middle 8 panes makes two pipes. I think a lot of us have strayed too far from vanilla MineCraft which is exactly what Notch and Jeb were/are being careful not to do themselves to avoid ruining the game. So I have replacements I can use until RP2 is updated and yes you can build quarries and auto builders with RP2 but they are homemade and lots of creative fun. You put a bunch of those mods together and your basically in creative mode, so why even bother adding the mods, just play in creative, some people play creative on top of all of them... lol (which it perfect for new players to learn about the mods and how to use them). I think it's time we all back into the adventure, the lurking dangers, and the sense of accomplishment when you build something you actually EARNED that made most all us fall in love with MineCraft to begin with.
I propose that Mojang incorporate an OPTIONAL system that you could turn on or OFF, which would attempt to maintain their idea of balance within MineCraft, based on which mods are chosen, perhaps even down to modules, an OPTIONAL system for people that want to play MineCraft with mods in a balanced creative environment approved by Mojang, with possible suggestions to OP/afflicted mods that could offer ALTERNATE modules that could be included. Maybe sort mods by CORE, MODules (mods and partial mods where mods and modules get filtered by which CORE mod is chosen and can include partial CORE modules) and TWEAKS ("tweaks" could never be OP and only classified as that by Mojang as well as CORE). As well as explanations allowing modders to provide ALTERNATE modules, and to hopefully cure some cases of crabbies. This function would be OPTIONAL so don't squeal pigglets!
A brand new version of MineCraft should really be treated more like a snapshot until all the bugs are fixed, how badly do you need hoppers when you got pipes??? MultiMC is an awesome program that let's you play older versions, and have multiple modded MineCraft jars, each with their own saves I highly recommend it! You can have Multiple single CORE modded jars and a sandbox jar, so you can still experience all your favorite mods, and not all at once if you want balance. Mojang would be wise to follow in it's footsteps. So stop harassing modders, stop spamming forums with useless info (if 5 people mention a bug that's more enough (but I don't want to read a 2000 page forum, yeah because of all the ******* spam...)) Forums need to be able to wipe their forum clean, an archive function could do this while still allowing access and improving development. Let them get more actual work done, and you will see an improvement in mod development improving your immunity to crabbies.
I wasn't too harsh now was I? I posted a Red Torch Lever request in the request section that I think would look really good in RP2 if you like the idea Eloraam, again THANKY YOU so much and I can't wait to see what is to come. I'm sure there are tons of grammar/spelling errors, frankly who gives a ****, loosen up and have some fun!

Bravo! *Clapping* Well said! Some people should, like he said, stop bugging the OP, and thank him/her for making the mod in the first place! I'm not just talking about RP, but also other popular outdated mods. I will just be searching through the comments, minding my own business, when I suddenly see, "plz update to 1.5.1!!!!!" At that point, I want to smack him/her and myself in the face at the same time. Now, people are saying stuff like
Dead mod is dead
and arguing about copyright? She is working on it guys. Just put your pitchforks and torches down, no need to start a riot, I've seen a lot topics get locked by small things like this evolving into straight out wars. In the meantime, take a walk, make a sandwich, have a nap, put a cardboard box over your head and pretend you are a robot, do whatever you want to do; the mod will be updated when it is updated. Now that I mentioned it, I think I'm going to go make a sandwich and then take a nap :P.
I hate that cool mod is created by someone unable to keep up with the changes and protected by sick US copyright laws from anyone wishing to keep it alive and kicking. Suing for copying some third-party, free-to-download modification that has no real legal documents and having even a slim chamce to succeed in such a stupid act... Sick law for sick and avaricious people.
With all due respect, eloraam needs public relations manager and a enthusiast team to keep this mod up to date without once-a-month life signs and delaying a whole modpack from a full scale update.

It's quite possible that when it's updated no one but some bunch of butt-kissers will give a damn about this mod, 'cause some clever people will recreate every aspect of it without most bugs and being a slowpoke burdening whole mod packs by not updating when everyone else did.
It's awesome, I like most of its aspects, but I hate when sluggishness and social awkwardness along with those crappy copyright issues make awesome ideas slowly wither and die and be forgotten.

Where is/are your mod/s? Have you written any? If so is it anywhere near as big? The last "CLEAN" version of minecraft is 1.4.7 You want her to update the mod constantly and never add anything to it? That will kill a mod. Go get multimc and play 1.4.7 with all your OP mods because you really don't need a hopper that badly. You can't even read two posts, either that or you don't understand how much work is involved before you make a spam post... If I only updated a mod 100 times over and over I'd quit too, she wants to add to it, personally I want her to add to it as well.
And thank you bigeaspk! Nice to know a few people are on her side.

Twitter: @Stratagerm
So why advertise your server here if it's for only Friends and Family?
Idiot, he is stating that its not gonna be public and asking permission. Read the entire message next time.
try Sphax's, it has a RP2 patch
http://bdcraft.net/download-bdcraft-texturepacks for the main part, just be sure to get the 1.4.7 version as it is out for 1.5
http://bdcraft.net/forum/all-sphax-addon-project-textures for the mod patches
you'll have to put any patches into the main TP to get them all to work

I'm really out of the loop but what ARE some better alternatives to Redpower2?
