I disagree - I think it is difficult and that's why I love it! It makes me think. And then think again.
Technically it is not hard. Rather it is so easy(for a computer) that it confuses us. It is bases off very simple concepts. We are not trained to think in terms of stacks, which makes it seem hard.
the range is adjustable, On my server we have it at 5K blocks at max altitude.
iirc I think I actually dissabled distance modifiers completely since PCs are uncraftable on my server (I mainly have CC installed to run scripting for dungeons and honestly it would be extremely dangerous for players to be able to craft and place PCs with all the command blocks around)
wait....WR-CBE crosses dimensions!?!?!? I did not know that....
Yes, Frequency 1 is Frequency 1 everywhere. It may be simply because it's easier that way, if it didn't then it would have to maintain a separate list of frequency states for each and every dimension. I'm not sure what happens to a frequency state if the only transmitter's chunk gets unloaded. I'll have to test that.
This is such a tired excuse. About as over used as 'how much did you pay for this mod?'.
It's more a juvenile cop-out than valid reason and I suspect that you are just parroting the same responses to previous comments that were similar in nature. Do you really expect people to choose to revert to 1.4.7 just so they can play with RedPower? Bug fixes to <1% of my mod loadout would be reason enough to be against that idea.

This right here. I regularly use about 70 other mods, 90% which have updated to 1.5.1 and include bug fixes and often tons of new features. Sticking on 1.4.7 is to *cripple oneself* in lust over a mod which no one has any guess as to which month or year it may next update.
I miss Redpower also, a lot. However with a ton of updates and new features down one path and sticking with RP down the other I've chosen the path that is actually progressing. Playing two different instances of Minecraft, one outdated but with RP and another with everything else updated without RP seems just totally nuts to me. I guess it comes down to those who only use RP and no other mods, for them sticking with 1.4.7 makes sense.
You could then use the same argument that, hey screwdrivers broken and bags dupe items in pr6? Just use pr5 on 1.2.5! LOL

What makes you think it is an excuse?
That posters comment could be interpretted in two ways. One would be asking for update, which is against the rule. The other would be wanting to play the mod. For which I gave a solution.
And why yes, until RP updates, I expect that people would stop complaining with every breath (or keystroke) and rather use 1.4.7 if they want it so much.
As for, "how much did you pay for this mod?", I have only seen it asked to people who try to dictate what Eloraam should do with her mod, like give it to some one else so that they can play the mod. That is a perfect example of feeling entitled to the mod, and deserves that response.
I don't know what mods you use, but the only mod that was different enough between 1.4.7 to 1.5 (from my setup) was Tinkers Construct. What ever bugs were fixed don't seem apparent to me. For me the 1.5.1 (with 50 mods) has crashed more times in a week than my 1.4.7 (with 89 mods, and not counting modules on one mod as seperate) did in over a month.
1) What makes you think it is an excuse?

1) Because it's more juvenile cop-out than valid reason?
2) Attempting to pass that as being an update request is stretching things just a bit, Dontcha think?
3) I've seen it introduced simply as a reason why any complaint what-so-ever is unjustified. I will cite examples if you force me to.
4) 1.4.7 - 72 mods, I think? ; 1.5.x - haven't bothered with it considering that my 1.4.7 server has had every update for every mod applied so is running pretty stable. One I go there I'll expect to be pushing 80... or not... I might just stay at 1.4.7 forever. Though Millenaire alone is almost enough reason to ditch R... okay, nevermind. no it's not.
5) Hence the importance of bug fixes. My initial 1.4.6 server was not stable at all- I could crash it at will by moving from one location to another. Biggest improvements were seen with Forge updates.

1. That is my point. I wasn't explaining/justifying any thing. It was a solution to him missing RP. It cannot be an excuse.
2. Exactly. Hence my responding to him rather than reporting.
4. Can't say anything about Millenaire. Never used it.
5. That was what I was saying. I don't see any such improvements in 1.5.1 over 1.4.7. As you say, I know over 20 ways to crash my game, some even making it impossible for me to log into again.

Yup. It feels like people obcess over redpower just like EE2. If you'd look, tons of other mods have items that replace them. Rednet cables from MFR, Immibus's microblocks, then you've got vanilla quartz replacing marble. Basalt, i don't know any mods for. But you get the picture? It's not worth staying on 1.4.7 for redpower. Just be patient. I'm sure Eloraam will be done in a few months.

1) Like I said then. Juvenile cop-out. When he says 'miss' it implies previous usage which means that they are aware of previous versions. Therefore the interpreted meaning is that the player has moved on to 1.5.x and are lamenting the fact that red power is not a part of their current game. That said, you are telling the poster something that they are already aware of just for the sake of giving the same response that others before you have given.
2) Yet you felt the need to vocalize the stretched and baseless interpretation knowing that there was no bite to the bark? Are you aware of another name for intentionally passing on known untrue information?
3) Did you forget about 3 or was it because you knew it was true? So can I feel secure in the knowledge that I defended my assertion that 'How much did you pay?' is an overused cop-out that has been used as a defense against everything it could possibly be thrown at?
4) It's kinda neat. Adds another type of villages to the game, except the villagers will build and upgrade as resources become available.
5) You don't see. But others do. Tons of mods have made large improvements both in stability and content. When 1.4.5 was first release I was having to restart my server every 2 hours, and that was with nobody on while I was sleeping. By the time I got up to my fully updated 1.4.7 build I can do 18+hours without restarting if I wanted (maintenance runs every 6 hours anyway).
Now... imagine this scenario. Eloraam misses the entire 1.5 cycle. Releases for 1.6... chances are that Forge will need modifications to support RedPower. What if those modifications break other mods? So now those mods have to update as well. In addition... This mod is still in it's 1.4.6 state so the changes are going to be for 1.4.6-7 bugfixes, 1.5 compatibility and 1.6 compatibility. Covering so much ground could very likely complicate and increase the number of bugs... will we be looking at another 4 months of ForgeCraft-only bug testing like last time? If not how will users report their bugs and even if they are given a way to report that is paid attention to and works... Would a bugfix happen? We've been waiting since February...
Eloraam made a great mod, I just find it very, very sad that a developer would rather kill their work, depriving all of it. I don't know if it's selfishness or ego, whatever it is- it's sad.

1) He does know that there exists an older version. Thats why I also suggested MultiMC.
2) Not going into an argument, but yes, I did the same thing most others do when RP doesn't update and they want to play it immediately.
3) Actually I was trying to avoid the same arguments that have happened before, which you were part of as well.
4) Might give ti a shot in a separate instance sometime.
5) 1.4.5 was buggy for even me, but by 1.4.7, the mods were quite stable. But since our mod load-outs are (supposedly) different, there is no way to argue. Both of us are right, in different situations.
As for the very last statement, I think it is a matter of priorties? She puts her work before mincraft modding. You might see keeping the mod to herself (because it is her hobby) as selfishness, but I don't think it is either.

1) uhh... you're missing the point. your response of 'it still exists for 1.4.7' was info the poster was already aware of and was not in the context of the statement the poster made. Your response was borderline sarcasm more than attempt to be helpful.
2) Dude... at this point I don't think the term 'immediately' applies.
3) Explain it how you like... fact of the matter is that nobody gets to complain about cost when the lack of reward was known all along.
5) Which was my point. 1.4.7 was at the tail end of a more refined branch of the Minecraft Code. 1.5.x was the START of a new branch that has not had a chance to mature yet. In many ways comparison of 1.4.x and 1.5.x is apples to oranges. 1.4.x was the end of things that have been worked on since 1.3.x and prior. 1.6.x will continue refining code introduced in 1.5.x. All you did here was repeat the same things I said earlier.
By being so resistant to somewhat timely updates Eloraam is actually introducing more instability than necessary once she finally does manage to get an update out. Given her history with bug reports, bug fixes and lack of development time her code is only going to get more unstable with each new version thereby creating more work. ...should she actually stick with it. Personally I'm only giving it a couple more cycles.
Do you mean Rednet? That has a very limited range.
I disagree - I think it is difficult and that's why I love it! It makes me think. And then think again.
Technically it is not hard. Rather it is so easy(for a computer) that it confuses us. It is bases off very simple concepts. We are not trained to think in terms of stacks, which makes it seem hard.
the range is adjustable, On my server we have it at 5K blocks at max altitude.
iirc I think I actually dissabled distance modifiers completely since PCs are uncraftable on my server (I mainly have CC installed to run scripting for dungeons and honestly it would be extremely dangerous for players to be able to craft and place PCs with all the command blocks around)
...and it doesn't work across dimensions. Not that I've ever needed it to, but I might copy DW20's frame quarry.
Why? You can still play it on 1.4.7.
You can use MultiMC to get older versions of minecraft to play on.

Yes, Frequency 1 is Frequency 1 everywhere.
