Veiled insults won't entice people to give the answers one needs, nor will an undeserved attitude of superiority. And I don't see why I should have to "remedy" the ignorance of others.
I don't have access to any information or knowledge that's not available to you - I learned everything I know about Minecraft from reading the forums and the developer blogs. Go, thou benighted one, and derp no more.
Yes, he is. I applaud his desire to help, but if zanebran does exactly what he did before, even following Zero's directions won't likely solve the problem.
(Yes, I'm holding back on my observation... knowledge has no value unless it's earned) :smile.gif:
Hello! I really love this mod however I seem to have run into a bug.
I've set up a local server for myself and my girlfriend to play on. Everything has been running fine until i attempted to craft a Filter(this applies to block breaker, transposer, item detector, sorting machine etc...). When I manually attempted to craft it i was disconnected from the server with the error 'Connection lost end of stream'. However when I attempt to use NEI to spawn the item I get the error 'there's no item with id 238'(same with all of the above mentioned items), though it works flawlessly in single player. I BELIEVE i have installed it correctly(Matching RS2 versions(PR4d) on Client and Server) however I could have botched something along the way. Anyone know a fix or what I may have done wrong?
-Extract the Modloader, ModloaderMP, and Forge files. Open your .minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar file with winrar, and put those files in there, in that order. Do not put them in your mods folder.
-Put the redpower zips in your .minecraft/mods folder. If you can't find a mods folder, either make it yourself or run the game and it'll create one for you. Don't extract the redpower zips, and don't put them in the jar file.
If you follow those directions exactly, it'll work. You'll want to start with a fresh jar, though.
You're supposed to put them in the mods folder? *facedesk* Seems to work fine being installed straight into the jar though. No errors yet. :laugh.gif:
[edit] Woot! Only 9 pages now!
Sure...... Just copy the client config over top of the servers config. And make sure your girl friend has the same config too.
Ugh no matter how hard I try to fix the problem before posting on the forum I always miss the simple solution... I thought there might be a slight difference between the configs(server vs client) so I avoided over-writing the file but that fixed it. At first it gave me an error like "block id 255 already exists and auto assign is disabled" so I enabled autoassign and that fixed it. Made a backup of my world just in case 0.o

the point of putting it in the mods folder is to make instalation easier
and alot of other mods benedit this to...
once minecraft has official support,
i imagine installing mods is as simple as putting it in a mods folder
HEY GUYS, I KEEP GETTING ERROR THAT SAY "BLOCK ID TAKEN: (SOME RANDOM NUMBER)" WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM??
ANY HELP, THANK YOU
The problem is what you said, the block id you're trying to pick, is taken already by another mod.
Either use autoAssign (if you added a new mod lately, that took over RedPower's ID's.. and you use autoAssign, you'll end up with a broken world or similar bad stuff :tongue.gif: )
or - set the ids of the new mod to something that isn't in use. :smile.gif:

The problem is that two mods are trying to take the same block ID, what do you mean "what could it be"? I really hope you're not serious. Also Quit yelling.

Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for the night. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
I think you might want to look into this: Sound Enabler
It will allow you to prevent MC from downloading the sounds if they don't match what MC thinks is 'right'.
Couple that with Audacity or some another sound editing software that can handle a .OGG export and you'll have everything you could possibly desire. Enjoy!
... I was covertly suggesting eloraam add a "soundproof" foam, that placed similar to jacked wire, you could place covers on it to sound proof an area - It was "soundproof" an area by tricking the noise around it that it was 100 blocks away, of course there would need to be a soundproof door, otherwise a room would be pointless with no enterence. And it fits into redpower because it allows noisy inventions to be moved into a more compact area.

Give me a corect answer please if you dont know how to fix it then dont anserw.
They've tried to help before. You ignored them telling you what you should do to further solve the problem you have, so now they can't do much else but suggest magic (which, from experience, works on nearly anything perfectly except on most electronics, which might result in minor issues).

There is a rare mythical button called "Search" that likes to answer questions; however, due to its nature, it often blends in with its surroundings so as to remain hidden.

I thought the same however I assume the IDs referenced are in the redpower.cfg and they are the same in my server and client instillation.

See "autoAssign is disabled" in the EAQ.
And don't use Notepad!
