A Question and a minor lighting bug here:
The minor bug first:
Noticed that the covers in SMP don't quite look right. They're a little darker than the surrounding blocks (like stone cover vs. stone) no matter the lighting conditions.
Standard minecraft lighting issues, same thing happens with other non-solid entities, like stairs.
the question:
does bluelectric current dimish or get reduced over a distance at all? just sorta wondering at the moment as i've got 4 bluelectric furnaces a couple levels underground and the solar panels on the roof of the above ground shack.
Yes, it actually diminishes quite quickly, that is by design as transformers will be coming out later and they handle longer distance transmission with lesser losses, right now, do not run cables too far. It would be better to put solar and battery boxes at each location if, say, 100+blocks away or more if using the furnace.
Currently the sorter and retriever take so little power that it does not matter, but for the furnace it does.

hmm.. thanks for the info about the lighting. So basically it's a core MC problem then.
Right now it's maybe 30-40 blocks and i've got a bat-box near the source and one before the furnaces. Was seeing some pretty severe dips under heavy load so I stuffed that in-line there. Had some IC2 electric furnaces in there previously but I wanted the extra challenge and power savings :smile.gif:
and I was wondering what people think would be the best way to translate the binary to the display using RP2.
This is a link to the album if those pictures are too small.

Actually, unlike IC2, which uses energy 'packets', placing things inline on a blutricity system will not help. You can have batboxes inline, or way off on the edge far away, it will do the same. Blutricity is not an 'energy packet' like system, rather the whole system tries to balance itself out, the longer the lines, the more the waste, but it still tries to balance itself out.
The buffer has 5 rows, when items come in the 5 non-front sides on the buffer they go into their own row.
On the front you can pull from all rows, and with a Sorter this is very useful for pulling certain amounts of each item while you keep the buffer filled without needing to worry about overflowing the chest with a single item type.
In other words, it is basically like 5 small chests in one.
Well, i know how does it work... Just wondering if somepony really use it.
First off, wonderful mod. I love it. The vertical wiring alone makes it worth it. I do have a couple questions regarding the rubber trees. Is there some sort of plan for making use of the rubber trees aside from cutting rubberwood panels and such? Seems like their should be. Why make a huge tree and call it a "Rubber Tree" unless you plan to do something special with it? Will they eventually function like Industrialcraft's rubber trees and give rubber? Are they currently at all compatible with Industrialcraft's rubber trees? I haven't used IC since I updated to 1.0.0 so I don't know from experience.

Can you add a glowstone cover/panel/... which emits light? If it cant emit light can you just make a glowstone cover/panel/... which does not emit light?

Quick question only cause I can't find a wiki or thing of the sort.. Basalt cobble.. Does it have a use, if so what for?
Its made for volcanoes, and can be made into brick, its aesthetic, may have a use later - but you can ask the same for cobblestone.. does it have a use? - basalt cobble, and cobblestone are exactly as useless as the next.

Wonderful mod, finally got back to installing it for the logic system. But everytime i try to break a block i get a Minecraft crash error.

MCPatcher is the problem. Try installing the mods manually, as there are some known problems between it and RedPower.
@PonyKuu (#15130), that is an excellent example of RedPower connecting IC and BC! Well done!
Not sure if it's intended, but I noticed while building my sorting system that untagged items (as in, items that come from elsewhere and not the sorter and have no box around them).. completely ignore tube colorings and will happily go thru a colored tube enroute to an inventory. I would've figured they'd be not allowed in any tube colors, but maybe not.

Oh yes, very much so, great for sorting various items amongst a system, and it will be even far *more* useful once the Crafter comes out.
You will be able to get latex and such from the tree, and use the chemistry bench to make rubber.
Also, you can *already* put RP2's giant rubber trees into an IC2 extractor and get IC2 rubber that way, so yes, if you use IC2, those trees are *very* useful, and if you have BC as well then you can use a filler/quarry to make an automated rubber tree farm for tons of rubber.
They're compatible, eventually redpower will have its own computers though!

and to answer your question, it is currently only for decoration, along with marble. Tungsten is suspected to be used in frames, ruby, sapphire, and emerald currently are only used for their respective tools and blocks for decoration, but they will also soon have more uses.

Can you post a screenshot, please? Um.. if you OK with it...
Also, another simple contraption. Geothermal station using IC2 GeoGen and BC tank (i think, you should supply it with lava ^_~)
