The Modular Powersuits mod recently started using the new Minecraft Forge armor model hook, which is extremely incompatible to how Smart Moving and many other animation mods render their animations.
That's disappointing. I take it then that it won't be possible to use two of my all-time favorite mods together, in that case?
Hey Divisor, I was wondering if you were planning to add a config to customize your mod. I would like to return creative flight to default controls, using shift and space rather than following your retical. In addition I would like to disable the sprint bar. For one, I do not find it enjoyable, and secondly another mod I use occupies the same space. Other than that, I would like to applaud you on your work on this mod. I am impressed, very well done.
I don't think this is to be taken too litterally, it is mainly a message to avoid the "does this mod work with X?" pesters. Indeed, I use a few little mods with BTW.
Anyway, thank you!
I'm not sure if this has been suggested yet (I did a search for "dodge" that didn't come up with much and read that last page or two), but I have a suggestion:
One button dodge. It would use the same already present sideways/backwards dodge, but instead of double-clicking a direction you could use an optional keybind. Simple! Also, using the keybind would allow dodging forwards, Man at Arms-style. Probably not as simple.

Black as the shadow that yet remains and Red for the blood that runs in our veins.
This mod or PlayerAPI breaks the way that Modular Powersuit displays on your character. It makes it so the armor always faces south but your character still rotates around like normal.
Modular Powersuits started using the new Minecraft Forge player armor model replacement hook officially added in Minecraft Forge version 7.7.1.662.
By doing so, the responsibility to animate the (now mod-specific) player armor model in a way that it matches the animation of the player main model completely moved from the Smart Moving mod to the Modular Powersuits mod.
Because of that, it is not possible for me to fix this incompatibility.
Dang, so that's why. The odd thing is that both you and MachineMuse seem to be saying that it is the other's responsibility for the error and/or fix. I'm not sure which one of you is correct, if not both.
Honestly, saw the SkyDoesMinecraft showcase on this, had to use it. Played with it, enjoyed it, now I'm gonna do a mod showcase on it soon.

Is there any reason why when i install this mod (1.5.1) my character will not turn in 3rd person, the camera moves and he animations continue but the model wont turn and i cant seem to perform any of the moves?
I have a crash report here. I don't know why it still doesn't work.

I had the same issue with Forge + Render API, with ModLoader is okay. But, definetely, when I saw this bug I thought it was a feature, a cool feature. It'd be cool to be able to rotate the camera around the character. Someone needs to convert it into a feature!
EDIT:
I made more testings. It seems that SMoving has some incompatibilities with one of mods I have, Galacticraft, which also changes the way how the character and armor are rendered. If I run with Forge + SMoving 1.5.1 + Player API + Render API only, it runs okay.
