Here's what you should do: STFU and keep enjoying the 1.6.4 version with all of the mods you love while the modders update to 1.7. It took a damn long time for FORGE to update to 1.7 and you can't possibly expect all of the mods to update overnight. The modders do have lives you know.

Yeah, i get it, but for me, even 1.7.2 is a bit outdated (it has some anoying bugs, etc) then what shoud i say about 1.6.4? Yet i'm still waiting for mods for 1.7.2. But yeah, i guess moders have other things to do than just waste their lives in front of the screen, What isn't really fact for me. There shoud be some 1.7.2 bug fixes mod since there isn't newer version of forge. And yeah, sorry for complaining.
Best than try to update to this broken version (there are larger differences between subversions than some major versions), is wait to 1.8 (maybe a more stable version to work, and maybe the way MCP and Forge dev guys will take) and, in somewhile, FIX the sad bug in integration with Carpenter Blocks, which according the CB author is totally SM fault:

1.7 was a massive change to the code of minecraft and it took months for Forge to catch up to it. While later changes may not take as long as the 1.6 > 1.7 change, an update to minecraft is always going to take some time for Forge to catch up to and even longer for modders to update to. The same thing happened from 1.5 to 1.6, some mods took a long time to update and some never did. That's just part of modded Minecraft. The Forge devs and all the modders out there care about bug fixes (with the possible exception of the IC2 dev team), so those should only be a matter of time.
In the case of Smart Moving, it uses two APIs (PlayerAPI and RenderPlayerAPI), which are now updated to 1.7. If you're wondering why it took as long as it did for Smart Moving to update: Divisor couldn't update it at all until he updated those two. Since they're updated, a Smart Moving update should follow, but rushing it won't help. Rushing a modder to update will NEVER help it get out sooner. It's not easy to write the code for these mods and the modders aren't paid for what they give us, so demanding updates is considered extremely rude. People who do it come across as petulant little children screaming "I WANT THIS AND I WANT IT RIGHT NOW!!!!". That kind of thing is not appreciated by the community and it never will be. Modders make the mods we all love because they enjoy doing it. Having to deal with demanding players who refuse to appreciate the effort that goes into making them will inevitably make it less enjoyable for them. If you want to see update to your favorite mods, don't contribute to that.
EDIT: Just to be clear, the last part of my post wasn't directed at one person in particular. It was a warning to all of the people on this thread who made posts demanding that smart moving update to 1.7.

That is the point Mark, some guys don't realize how painful is an major version update. And i could affirm that this 1.7 IN SPECIAL, is IMO the worse of i ever see in "modern minecraft" (pos-1.2.x). I say this by the fact of even Mojang doesn't "stabilize" this version, putting and modifying stuff in every new update.
Ultimately, i can say IMO the most of mods only will get full "stabilized" in 1.8. Then this guys could stop the spam and enjoying what already exists. For large modpacks, sorry, stay in 1.6.4 OR only in 1.8 this would again to be possible.

Well sorry i really apriciate the work of all those people and all their amazing mods and stuff. i have no intentions to hurry anyone up or something, just i'm too inpatient. sorry. But what about the forge? Will they update it when 1.8 is out?
Edit: I mean i don't intend to rush anyone but its likely that i really did say something like that, and i really am a retard. sorry. What i mean by it is that by rushing i don't have the "I WanT THAT NOW !" Thing, i somehow mean to encourage the modder (even thou that probably doesn't work) because i love the mod and i want him to continue, not because i want it, but because i think is great work and that stuff.

Could you please make your mod compatible with the Animated Player mod?
If I have both installed I have the model from the Animated Player mod and have the new moving possibilities from your mod but if I look around in non-ego perspective, the model isn't turning around with the cursor. And I also have no animations when performing actions from your mod(probably because I have with both mods installed the animations from Animated Player[I will ask thehippomaster21 also to change sth. for his mod working with your mod]).
Please, change it so that I can have the Animated Player skin and animations together with your new moving options. PLS!!!
Maybe you could work together with thehippomaster21 to make animations for your moving with his model and skin?
That would be great!!!
btw.: I only can play minecraft 1.6.4 (1.7.2 lags a lot for me[just 4GB RAM]) so it would be great if you can implement it in a 1.6.4 version of your mod before updating to 1.7.X THX
I think you're asking too much I mean think about how hard he's already worked for this. Plus I think falling, crawling, climbing, diving, strafing, swimming, flying animations (and more) are enough.
Hey Divisor! (Or anyone else that can help!)Is there a way to get hunger overhaul to work properly with smart moving? (It brings a more hardcore hunger system to minecraft)
If there could be some way to have cross support for this, It would be amazing.
Right now if you install both mods together, the hunger will never go down. I have reported it on their forum page. I hope this is possible.
Thanks Divisor! No more crashing at world load. I do have one question though. I've never changed any config options for smart moving and have never had any issues, however, while climbing up or down a carpenters block ladder I need to hold the grab button in order to not fall off the ladder. Vanilla ladders do not behave this way. Is this intentional? Can this be changed in the config somewhere? It really wouldn't be much of an issue at all, but I frequently forget to hold grab and just go plummeting to my death instead.
Thanks again!
Love the mod, I think Mojang should do some more work to make vanilla movement more like this.
There is an option to change the on/off key in the config from the default "F9", but it does not work. I have set it to F7 but when playing that does not work, it is stuck on F9
Without being able to turn off smart moving, the flying in MPS is messed up, so we can not use the mod.
Are you aware of this issue? Is a fix planned or should we move forward without Smart Moving?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
If you have a post count higher than 9, and do not use SPOILER bbcode tags when posting logs here, you get added to the ignore list.
Can not do that. For some reason this mod uses F9 as its default key, which is the key to outline chunk boundries. Unfortunately, the file to change configuration to something else does not work. I have changed it to F7, started MC, and it does not change. It is stuck on F9, so I can not use it.
Does it also fix the problem of the key config not working? I can not use F9 and the smart_moving_options.txt option does not work.
# Key name to toggle Smart Moving features in-game (default: "F9")
move.config.toggle.default.key.name:F7
The key can also be changed ingame in your controls
Is there a way that you could contact the makers of animated player mod and allow them to access the source code of this mod so that these two fantastic mods could finally be compatible
Hello good sir. I am a big fan of your mod as it goes along with Assassincraft like magic. However, I was wondering if you're going to make a 1.7.2 version of this mod.

is with this one:
After pointing out it was in there I found it. Thanks. It is not intuitive or well labeled, it is called "Change Configuration"
