Atually it works fine with mo Creatures.I have a build up on my forums right now with it and the only thing that happens is alot of the creatures do not get cacooned. but dicks are one shots with webbing and boars just need to be beat on for a sec and they get webbed along with most other creatures whose base classes were wone fo the 4 creatures that youc an cacoon.
Thanks man. I must have missed it. I skimmed this file abotu 20 or 30 times too.
Edit: Its not on the forums anywhere. Its on his webpage though. You can place them to make your spiders attracted to them but they do not follow. there are posts on here about how they will follow you and you can right lick eggs to make them never despawn and stuff but none of that information seems to be accurate at this time.
Awesome Mod :biggrin.gif: I like thepart about the racist ants :tongue.gif: Is that a bad thing o.o It's just funny because you can lead the red ants over to the black ones home and the fight to teh death :biggrin.gif:
I absolutely adore this mod, but sadly I cannot play it.
After the first in game day, it lags like nothing I've ever seen before.
1fps at all times, and it takes up insane amounts of RAM. Exiting minecraft and reloading it doesn't fix it, but making a new map does, until the next morning. I have no idea why it is doing this, and I'm wondering if someone else does.
I like the idea of items that effect spiders behaviors but i think the best thing to do is to make them act like woves and then do advanced rods. but the phermone suggestions are very good.
What are the future plans for this mod? There seems to be alot of lag attributed to the custom texture wrap of the driders. any way we can get one that looks like a normal person. to atleast see if ti fixes the lag that develops after a couple of days in game?
About the queen's texture, i'm using a custom skin for her and the back of the neck and...um....below her, is using the texture of what I think is the side of her face. Would that be possible to fix? Or is there not enough room on the texture? Also, that huge pink box on the side seems like alot of room for what it is. :dry.gif:
can you make a way to disable the wasps bees and ants individually. as cool as they are i get a terrible lag from them due to the fact that i run millionare.
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, it seems like it's a lot of difficult coding for too little payoff, and spiders can do most of that stuff already with the Follow Rod.
We are considering spiders that can gather and heal other spiders, though, and in version 3 you will be able to power your spiders up to increase their stats.
I think this will add tons of fun to my minecraft experience. I was a little cautious to download before, but why not? If I want to go back to normal I can run MC HD Patch and it renews my .jar. Downloaded!
It is sad... The texture pack I use - Dokucraft. Well it does not contain a spider web texture. Not only that, but the spider web texture is invisible... oh well
This is an amazing mod, though I do have some suggestions.
For starters, cocooned mobs and eggs would work much better as blocks or if they could be thrown; it's very difficult to place them as is, since they just spawn on top of you and fall down. Eggs might also work well as sprites, like how flowers are rendered. This would fix the holes on their corners.
Second, having to use logs to make a bed is rather annoying. What if I want to make my lair in a cave? Logs would look silly there. Why not just any 3x3 space filled with web?

Because a 3X3 space filled with web in ANY area results in accidental beds, and means you can't make any 3X3 traps. How about if we also modified the recipe to accept Mossy Cobblestone as well?

We'll try to fine-tune the throwing mechanics to feel more natural.
First some feedback: the warrior bees are not threatening enough. Half a heart damage is not enough. Ranged bee guards could work.
Suggestion to make the game a bit more challenging: a giant frog mob. They are as big as ghasts (4x4), and spawn near water (providing there is enough room). They hop around, easily jump over trees and try to eat every mob in their path by shooting their tongue at them. If you are hit, quickly hit the tongue to break free. The frog itself has 20 hearts(23 on normal, 28 on hard), the tongue 5(7 on normal, 10 on hard). If you get stuck in the mouth, you will take 1 heart damage per second (1.5 on normal,2.5 on hard). Spawns rarely.
Thanks for the feedback! We are currently tweaking Bee AI. As for frogs, it is a possibility!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
So just think about the move's I'm making on the chess board.
Right now, I'm about to put you in Checkmate.
You should be able to catch harvester bees with your webbing items. When these are given to spider eggs, a sort of "para-medic" spider will be made, with some sort of red and with cross on its back, just for easy spotting. It will have some sort of sticky honey/nectar moving around in its mandibles, in which it will proceed to heal everything around it at 1 heart per 10 seconds. It will prioritize you over the other spiders, making sure you're full on health. Every other spider must be missing at least 2 hearts in order to receive medical treatment.
This will be very useful once you have many of these, however you will obviously not gain any string out of being fed honey. They would also be highly prioritized targets for enemy mobs, if they are following a spider that has hit them, and a medical spider ends up being closer, they will chase it instead.
Hey, minor request here, could you make a version with only the wasps and ants?
I would love to battle giant bugs in Minecraft, but still want to remain a human, and I don't really want the other features.

I'd love to see this idea in the game!
This idea was already planned :]
I'm going to be adding furry spiders (created from wolf cocoons)
They will heal your spiders / you. (And maybe pick up stray items)

Sorry, but the ant and wasp code relies on other parts of the code. :/

I've been doing a lot of good work tonight. I improved the ant AI greatly.
After playing around with a few ways to do it, I assigned each ant an 'antId'. A random number from 0 - 500.
Ants scan the area for other ants and follows the one that is closest and has a antId that is a greater number.
If none is found it becomes a 'leader ant' and chooses a direction.
Their antId changes up / down every once in awhile assuring that the same ant isn't always leading.
This causes a few lines of ants to form from a blob of them.
Then I made it have a chance of eating through the world if it collides with walls and the ceiling. Now ants will slowly tunnel through the earth. (anthills too if I can get them working.)
I've developed the beginnings of a level-up system for your spiders. They will get stronger, more accurate, and will look deadlier.
And the thin spider is getting a new form of attack right now. Instead of biting it will shoot out webbing that can damage the enemy.
