Hmm, not sure but one guess is the wrong version of ModLoader is installed. Are you using any other mods?
They can be kinda annoying, huh? Good suggestion, I will look into it :smile.gif:
OMG 1.8 is going to be... well there are no words for it but AMAZING
It conflicts with Optimine, but there's a way to install them both if you do it right (with reduced functionality). Did you follow the instructions in the README regarding this?
Do you mean like the same as automine but for right click? Or something more elaborate?
no i dident even know there was a readme i will read it if i have any more problems i will tell you
EDIT: i dont know what it means by
Optimine : Conflict!
You can leave the conflicting file out of ControlPack, but not all features will work.
The features that will not work are: Look Behind, Less Rain, Rain Volume, and 3rd Person
what is the conflicting file?
OMG 1.8 is going to be... well there are no words for it but AMAZING
It means the file that both mods have, sorry I forget which one it is offhand. It doesn't matter though -- just install Optimine after ControlPack, that way you'll overwrite the ControlPack file with the Optimine version. Let me know if that works for you.
K, seems that I had to clear my cookies to get the link working. Anyways thks for such an awesome mod!!! So humble, yet so useful. :laugh.gif: :laugh.gif:
Thanks! Is there a reason other than the inconvenience of hitting F5 twice? I'd rather not take up function keys unless there's a really good reason for it. It has a high chance of conflicting with other mods, and changing the meaning of the keys from the game itself, which is bad.
Oh gosh... I wish people would stop creating mod platforms and just contribute to existing one. There being multiple mod platforms is defeating their very purpose.
Answer: I'll look into it, but it's very time consuming supporting multiple versions of the plugin, I don't have much time as it is :sad.gif: So the odds are low. Better would be if Spoutcraft had a ModLoader compatible version, since there are so many ModLoader plugins already.
Thank you for replying, spout will never have modloader compatibility because spout is going to replace modloader for bukkit. That, and all the developers absolutely hate modloader and its messiness. My server (Godcraft.com, NOT a small server! :tongue.gif:) and I would appreciate it if you did make it compilable with Spout.
Spout (formally bukkit contrib) has been around for almost 8 monthes
Rant warning! :smile.gif:
I'm not saying one "loader" is better than another, not at all. I'm sure Spout is better just based on the fact it has more people behind it and they seem to know what they are doing. But the state of MC modding is frustrating from a modder's perspective. I want the most exposure, the most number of users. To do that I have to maximize my mod's compatibility with others. Loaders, like ModLoader, are designed to increase the capabilities a mod can have without having to conflict with others. They are like a common ground for mods to agree on. It's a necessary step in lieu of a proper modding API from Notch (which isn't going to happen). But then, everyone seems to think they know better, and there are at least 3 different 'loaders' that I know of off the top of my head, that are incompatible with each other in one way or another. That defeats the whole purpose of having them. Each loader is creating a separate ecosystem of mods which fragments and harms the modding community, not helps it. It just makes it bad for modders, bad for users who often have to use trial and error to figure out if mods are compatible, and bad for Minecraft. All I can do is hope 1 of them wins out, becomes a defacto standard, and no one expects support for the others. I honestly don't care which. Anything would be better than this :smile.gif:
I whole-heartily agree, I do which they would just stick with one. But Spout seems to be the front-runner feature-wise with server control over plugins, and I would LOVE to see everyone drop support for any other loader. Unfortunately, this is going to take time, and as hard as I know you modders work, you're going to be bombarded with requests such as mine to support, well, two completely different versions of your plugins.
