I hope you all are having an awesome holiday! Especially Infinitiesloop.
Thanks.

It's always good to make a backup of your minecraft.jar before you update. IN CASE you don't know where to find it, for-
XP it's at C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\AppData\.minecraft\bin
Vista/7 it's at C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin
In both cases you have to make it so you can see hidden files or AppData won't show up. Hope this helps! ~Fake
If you've actually managed to make an "Auto-Tool" script, you have my infinite respect. I can't even ~attempt~ to create something that complex (since you have almost two hundred block ids to have the script scan through, each time you Left-click a block, plus you have to have a script to scan your Hotbar for the right tool id... etc).
Better to just wait for Loopy to finish his holiday, and enjoy the fruits of his labor.
Totally, I can run alot of games on here just fine (my computer that is)...but the lag issues are really annoying! and about the scripts, I may have experience in Computer Programming, but mainly simple applications using languages such as Java, COBOL, C++, Visual Basic, etc... nothing that complex...not saying that I can't do it, its just why should I bother when Loopy here has an amazing mod that already does it! I'd rather wait for him to update his mod rather then rack my brain trying to create my own version!
Best to leave it to the experts.
Hehe, I could try, but my programming skills are amateurish at best. Most of the scripts are slightly changed copy-pastes from other (more competent) script programmers. I did however make a "change brightness"-script that I'm sort of proud of. Not very advanced but the pride in making something yourself that works are quite rewarding.
I'm not really using Macro/Keybind-mod instead of CP indefinitly but more like a temporary fix while waiting.
And I still like using Control Pack, but, as you said... it's nice to have a temporary fix, while you wait.
I'm convinced that if the game were written in a different language all the lag issues would be fixed. Java isn't exactly the bast language to code a game in, from what I hear.
Plus, seeing how Minecraft plays on the Xbox 360 version (using whatever gaming language they're using), it has a lot of issues of it's own... so maybe it's not ~what~ Minecraft was coded in... but how it was coded... that causes the problems.
EDIT: and we should all be glad that Mojang is quite active at bug fixes...as I know games that get horrible bugs and it'll take weeks, if not months for the devs to fix them...
I'm not sure what kind of a "private life" Loopy has... so, for all we know, he's had to do all kinds of holiday stuff with a spouse and their children and all that "The most important time of the year for family!"... stuff. We'll see an update before long, and we'll all rejoice, and it will be awesome.
Meanwhile, I'm still playing around with other mods, learning how to tease out their full potential... and procrastinating ~massively~ on a private project of my own, that will never see public attention, because I'm the only one who would have use for it, anyway.
Not using the forums for advertising at all, just thought I'd point it out since CP is being used in the series (therefore relevant to the topic)
I might give your channel a look, some time... though, honestly, things keep me so busy I don't even have time to do things I want to do, let alone extra things I'd like to do. >_<
Given that without Control Pack, half of my Macros scripts that I have created ~that work together~... don't, now... yeah, I miss Control Pack massive amounts.
Until Loopy wants to share his source code, there's no need for it to be open source.
Let the man enjoy the rest of his vacation. It won't hurt anyone to wait a little longer.
Hear hear! I second that. He's a great modmaker and seems to be a really nice guy, Let him have the weekend off for once.
