This mod adds stained glass (and colored sand) (and other colored blocks).
The glass tiles will join together if placed next to each other. This also occurs with normal glass.
Crafting
Stained glass can be crafted either by putting one glass and one dye in the crafting square or by surrounding a dye by glass. This recipe is similar for the colored sand. Pictures

Block Storage
Don't you hate it when you're digging a quarry and you have to keep going back to the surface to deposit your cobblestone into chests and you need to make more. With this mod, all those worries are over. With this, you can store up to 18,014,398,509,481,984 blocks in a single stack (approximately what you'd get from a quarry 16 megablocks in each direction).
Crafting
You first need to make some chest pieces. This is done by placing a chest by itself in the crafting grid.
To compress blocks, you need to surround the chest piece by 8 blocks (all the blocks must be the same and have the same damage value). This will produce a storage item
To uncompress blocks, just place the storage item in the crafting grid.
Storage items themselves can be compressed up to 16 levels (anything after that and I don't know what will happen).
More coming sometime

Very interesting. What if I wanted to use a texture packs glass?
Ask the texture pack's creator to make a version for this.
Edit: I made a tool to make other texture packs compatible.
Just go to http://www.timando.net/mc/texturecustom.html, select the 'terrain.png' from the texture pack, right click the resulting image and save it in the texture pack as "tmim/terrain.png".
The Texture generator works fine! Thanks for that! Unfortunaly it repeats the corner frame so if the texture pack uses a glass frame effect (Like misa does) than you can see the frame corners repeating. (But I can fix that by hand!)
The Mod realy loocks fine! Actualy I have a lavafall with a 8x7 plain glas roof.. So now with MISA Texture pack it looks like noting is there besides the glas frame.
You can see the frame border repeating the corners here too.
It would be incredibly difficult to make a program that converts the texture perfectly.
I have to say, I'm more impressed with this than with Better Glass.
Granted, I've yet to install it due to me waiting for 1.6 (I want to play with maps ), but it's got more features, uses less texture slots, and you offer a tool to make the newer texture, which is quite awesome.
Good work, dude, this is on my "Must get" list for when Modloader and MCP update for the 1.6 update.
Uh i cant get this work. i have modloader then i put .zip to .minecraft/mods after that i start minecraft go to single and i don't have mods... i tried this with this mod and toomanyitems
Did you delete the META-INF folder in the Minecraft.jar?
And this mod doesnt really work for me.
I can get the glass but when I place it its just a block.
I tried it with Black glass, but its a black block when I place it.
Light can go through but you can't see through the glass.
I got Modloader and put this .zip in the mods file.
Is there any way to change the item IDs? They conflict with BuildCraft.
Yep, in your .minecraft directory, there will be a folder called config. Go there and edit tmim.conf. It will contain the item IDs and the colors. If you set the IDs to 0, no new blocks will get added.

What went wrong?
I think the lack of a texture file is the problem. It worked on my computer and so I assumed it would work when I released it. I'll fix it when I get home (about 2 hours).

do you mean .minecraft/bin folder? Because when I open the .zip file I see a bunch of class files. Don't they normally go to bin?
Standard better glass:
My better glass (default):
My better glass (alternate texture):
My better glass (faithful32 texture):
With the default texture, the edges are more defined but with the alternate texture pack, it looks almost identical except for the concave corners.
It's a feature of modloader version 3. just place the zip into the mods folder.
I know. I can't fix it without modifying the main rendering class and that would cause incompatibilities.
Hopefully notch fixes it.

Youve done well :biggrin.gif:
-Good luck in the future :wink.gif:

I forgot to bundle the texture in the file. Try with the alternate texture. I'll fix it when I get home.
