I deleted my map and went to generate a new one, and... it just stopped working :sad.gif:

I hate to burst everyones' collective bubbles but BiomeTerrainMod's code was written by Bucyruss, not R-T-B.
Not to say that R-T-B isn't my *****, because he is, but he just picked up the code where Bucyruss left it and kept up with obfuscation and debugging busted features.
I'm not sure that anyone besides Bucyruss really has a solid grasp on how the code works exactly.
This. I basically stumble around in the dark and update things. Before this, I wrote Java applications for business use. This is very new to me but kind of fun. I don't really understand it completely to be totally honest. BOB is more my toy and I understand it pretty good, but Bucyruss's code scares me.
Anyhow, that said there will be an update this weekend if life doesn't kill me. My dad's at the end of his radiation and it's pretty ugly right now, but in theory it should be uphill from here.
I found a bug that I hope is easy to fix. Saplings. Sometimes they just dissapear (More often when you put them next to eachother or near eachother).
I tested it quite a bit before posting this, to see if it was really PTM. I think it was. With the mod alone the saplings dissapear sometimes. With Too Many Items, using bonemeal on the saplings sometimes turned them to tall grass.
With other mods and no bonemeal, they just dissapear (sometimes, but quite a lot).
It really interferes with my soon to be tree farm and I hope you can come around to fix it. Thanks :smile.gif:

On a less solemn note, (Not to be a jerk or anything. I hope that R-T-B's dad is alright too) I have a recommendation if R-T-B isn't up to the task of trying to merge the two mods.
The solution is rather obvious, but... just give the Source Code for the PTM Generator to Robinton. Phoenix Terrain Mod's Source hasn't been released, so no-one can tinker with it. He doesn't have to release the code, but he could give it to Robinton so HE could try and get the job done.
Of course best wishes from here too, but i have to bring up an PhoenixTerrainMod related problem what was discussed the first few pages. I continiously get this result in SMP:
Wrong colors except on the x/y/z achsis, also red sky if you're standing on them. I read this should be an issue of other mods overwriting TerrainMod classes. I did take care of that, sadly the error stil shows up and it didnt seem to be an rare error at all. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
Load SP first.
You're correct, that's not a rare issue. It happens 100% of the time that you load up MP first-thing.
I'll also note that that bug has existed since the first release of BiomeTerrain.

* And R-T-B, it would be an amazing gesture on your part if you were to do what Luxander suggests. It would not replace anything that is being done with this project and in this thread. It would just provide Robinton with an engine that could potentially be tweaked into a means for providing auto-terrains appropriate for those large maps, perhaps also using seeds like vanilla minecraft but with obviously different but appropriate results.

Oh, I agree completely. The source has been available via SVN since day 1 (or day 2, can't remember, back when people yelled at me for stealing code. :wink.gif: ). It's public domain as far as me and Bucyruss are concerned.
You can get it here, sorry it hasn't been more obvious:

Hey, I'll mark this for next release. I want it to be "bug free" so I'm adding this to the list so we can have a truly epic release. :smile.gif:
First, want to say, great mod, I have enjoyed exploring some of the epic maps its made for me.
I was wondering though if there is any way to have a version that allows bo2's to be loaded, but with vanilla terrain generation. Or perhaps a toggle on world generation, so that i can try seeds suggested to me by other players, but i still love the objects that the bobjects are capable of adding. Maps with only vanilla trees look so boring now.
Here's to hoping i haven't missed some absurdly obvious answer to it in previous posts....
Hope all works out for your dad.
Me too. My mother has cancer too, but she's refusing treatment. I'm glad your father is doing everything he can.

Load SP first.
You're correct, that's not a rare issue. It happens 100% of the time that you load up MP first-thing.
I'll also note that that bug has existed since the first release of BiomeTerrain.
Wow, is there a mod that can change the sky color like that on purpose? That would be incredible!

:smile.gif:
Hope all goes well!
