In regards to replacemod replacing all ores if stone is replaced, i noticed that the replace functionality of mcedit does the same thing. a fix in mcedit is to replace stone last. is to make sure replacemod always replaces stone last.
Is it notch code, or coincidence or shared code that makes both mcedit and ptm have this problem?
In PTM replacement work like this:
1) Generate chunk without any ores and other objects
2) PTM try replacement
3) PTM spawn ores( underground dirt is ore too), trees and other above ground object.

theres a problem in that if you replace stone with snow it replaces ore too. mcedit also has this problem. just doublechecked, replacemod isnt even working for me in 1.6. 1.5 has the problem im repeating.
I'm trying to get an old 1.2 or 1.3 world working that I used BTM on and i'm using my old settings (supposedly) but I still get horrible seams. The world seed is stored in the world itself right so it isn't a seed thing?
I installed the mod exactly as the instructions say, I modify my map, and it stops working. The game refuses to respond when starting a new world, and it only crashes when I change how gems and minerals are spawned. Any ideas why?

I also tried CB 936, but there I got some trouble with Wormhole / WXWorlds.
I use WormholeXTreme as well, and updated it for 936, can post it somewhere if you need it (and don't mind the other minor changes I've made being included). Don't use WXWorlds though so can't help with that one... course I might start, MultiVerse is starting to annoy me. :tongue.gif: PTM definitely works with 936 though.

That can also sometimes happen if you adjust a setting too far. I'd suggest trying some of the .ini files posted in the maps thread (link is in the 2nd post) and see if they work for you.

The terrain generation algorithms have changed a bit since 1.2 or 1.3, so yeah, you probably will get seams. We'll probably get them again after 1.8 comes out, and things change more.
PLEASE IM BAGGING YOU! i dont have the power to deal with going on lame based databased with no TUT on how to install these!
its like i say:Hey i made the best mod in the world!
and wont give a download...
Dude... he said "Ok, I'm game. I'll look into this after the next release". Stop acting life a self-entitled jerk and let the guy get to it when he has time.
After all you're asking him to help you make something for -your- server. Just be patient.
Maybe I didn't clarify enough, the mod does work, for the most part, but when I adjust how the jems and minerals spawn, it freezes when generating a map. Also, I just got a config from the config megathread, and it didn't crash.

What version of MCEdit are you using? I've never had that problem or anything similar. I'm using stable10.

Post the ores part of your crashing INI. obviously there's an issue with it.

There's a download in the releases section. You generally want the one with "R15" in the string and the latest Bugfix number ("B13" I think).
Also, there is a google cache article of the install instructions in the OP post.
Ok, I downloaded this mod, (R15B14) and I changed the config a little, nothing fancy at all....
Oceans at level 41...
Thirty-ish diamonds every chunk, I raised the amount of dungeons.. (Under 50, higher than standard) (both rarity 100)
fracturevertical 0.4
fracturehorizontal 1.0
flatBedrock:true
customObjects:false
I tried these (low) values because I had this mod for 1.5_01 and it froze at map generation, I had some quite insane values then, so I tried with this with 1.6.6, and these low values, guess what?
It freezes!
so can anyone tell me what I have done wrong?
And don't come with 'you installed the mod wrong' because I didn't, if I did minecraft wouldn't start.
Same goes for 'did you put the config in the right folder?' Yes, yes I did in C:\documents and settings\[username]\application data\.minecraft
now, I am sorry if the above may sound rude, but I am not a total idiot, I can install minecraft mods and I can read instructions, I just happen to have more intelligence than a goldfish.....
Thanks in advance, Andreawws!
Can you take a screenshot of the error log? (fastest way to get a resolution) or post your full settings here? (we might spot the error)
It wouldn't change anything, I tried just changing 1 number, and it crashes.
That sounds a lot like you're accidentally changing the number too far and it's going out of range. I ran into the same thing. :smile.gif: Problem is the limits aren't published anywhere, and it doesn't actually check that what it's doing is possible, so this can happen fairly easily.
In my case, I found that the deposit size can't go above 128, or it crashes. No clue on the limits of other numbers.
Is there a stand alone/premade program that will let you edit the config, create the map, and then take a picture of it?
I am looking for a minecraft style terrain island that could hold about 15-20 people with a ton of water around it...
I don't think there is. I did this with a semi-automated process, using a standard text editor for the .ini, MinecraftLandGenerator for generating, then mcmap for mapping. It can all be done with a shell script, so you only have to run one thing. Biggest problem is it takes around 20-30 mins to generate a decent-sized (1024x1024 block) map.
You might want to check out Wessex's pre-made maps though, he has one with islands and a lot of water, it might do the job.
I hate to sound like I dont want to read all this but...

Shameless Promotion:
Check out my thread, you might like my 'Island Hopping' Map. The spawn islands are a good size, there's custom palm trees, and I've hidden a few goodies around.
Either way, the PTM settings I used for that map might be perfect for you.
[EDIT:] Hey R-T-B, can you post a link to your schematic to bob converter?
What world environment you use ? it must be NORMAL.
It 100% works with 935 and MultiVerse as a multi world plugin.

You installed it wrong. It works just fine.
