So Ice happens to be one of those blocks that is un-obtainable other than inventory hacking, and this always kinda bothered me seeing as how its a pretty useful block. So all this is is a very simple mod that allows ice to be crafted from a bucket of water, and a snowball.
CraftIce!
To Install:
Download
Go to Start>Run, and type in %appdata%
Go into your .minecraft folder, then into your bin folder
Open minecraft.jar with an archiver such as 7Zip or Winrar
Drag the class file in
DELETE THE META-INF FOLDER
Close and enjoy.
I dont know of any conflicting mods, but because it edits CraftingManager, I am sure there is some incompatibilities. I dont know how to make mods work with modloader yet, so if anyone wants to help me out personally to do this, it would be much appreciated. But for the time being, it will just have to be used for people who like simple mods and dont have many mods installed. The mod is compatible with TMI at the very least, as I tested that personally.
If anyone has any suggestions for better crafting options, or to make the mod any better, feel free to post and let me know. I am still new at this modding business, and am plenty open for tips/help. Until then, I hope everyone enjoys this, and for anyone that doesnt, nobody is making you use it. :wink.gif:
LOL In the background Its Johnny!
Cool, useful for those who don't have too many items
I use TMI myself for the most part, but I know some people feel cheated when they play the game like that, and small, unintrusive mods like this just make the game a little better. At least imo anyways.
When you craft the ice you should get an empty bucket back like when you make cake you get empty buckets back. For me buckets are valuable and I need all that I can get considering I'm using all my iron to make minecart tracks for the 1 km achievement. I don't think I'll use this mod until that is implemented.
I'm not gonna say there's anything wrong with this mod, believe me you did a good job on it, but its been made about 500 times. Maybe make something simple but new? idk just ideas good job! for you:D

Its already there. Its set by default that you get your bucket back when crafting with it.

Nice mod, but this has been done several times already. And I think you should change the recipe to be like this (Just a suggestion):
= Snowball
= Bucket of water
(Because snowballs are easy to get)
Thats quite a bit of snow just for one block of ice though. I wanted it to be accessible, buy not impossible to get.
