Like I earlier added to my last post: Cubic Chunks Mod is not compatible with Optifog-Opti-anything yet. Please go back to my prior post and check regarding your world files. You haven't answered any of those questions regarding the nature of the world file you are testing with. It could be corrupt by now.
But hopefully reinstalling per the Instructions I originally linked to (and without Opti) will get you up and running. Are you installing v1.31? :smile.gif:
Reinstall from the beginning yes, but you don't need to use the HD Patcher if you aren't planning to use HD Textures. If not doing HDTextures you can do it the old fashioned way. :wink.gif: If you do use the HDPatcher then just like it says in the instructions, make sure the HDTextures patch comes after the Cubic Chunks Mod in it's list.
Ok so, I reinstalled ritsumi's modloader (it works with the optifog_optimine)
And its all okay.
Now when I install the height mod this happens:
World loads real slow
Then if I try move, it goes "loading chunk" and the game dosnt respond anymore then goes black.
I also tryed to do it with planes mod:
Resources and all such is in (Not the jar files yet though) and it works
Then I add the jar files, and now it gives crash report.
I try something else, I try NOT overwriting (since only two files needs to be overwrited)
This time the game just crashes when loading after awhile
Yeah planes mod is partially compatible. I did the testing myself.
And When I say partially compatible I mean It goes to the minecraft menu(gets past the splash screen) but that's it. If you load up a world it goes to saving chunks.
Anyone have any reports on how V1.4.2 SMP is working?
As far as I can tell, in SMP, most of the gamebreaking bugs are fixed. There are still a few major bugs, but nothing catastrophic. Of course, I'll need testers to confirm this...
When I get all major errors ironed out of SMP, I'll call it V1.5.0.
I just wrote a fix for the waterfalls stop at edge of loaded chunks bug. Waterfalls may still halt for a moment, but they will start flowing again a few seconds after you load more chunks. Water also drops torches and such as items when it flows down onto them, instead of just destroying them. The fix modifies BlockFlowing.java. Feel free to overwrite / ignore this fix if you have other mods that modify BlockFlowing.java.
EDIT: Fun fact: this is the 132nd most viewed updated mod (185th most viewed mod, ignoring whether or not the mod is updated), according to the Minecraft Mod Index.
EDIT: I also added what I call a "Rarer than Diamond" fix to V1.4.2 and the fix download. My terrain generation had already helped that some... now I see 5 clay patches within two minutes of starting a new world.
Do not attempt to adjust your Display;
Robinton is in Control of the Vertical.
You are about to experience... the Outer Limits!
though awesome!, I don't know how many people will truly understand the reference, the only reason I now is because I have a rather retro family in terms of media

bugs: still having some issues loading chunks, same as before.
respawn is still slow or doesn't work.
the server will have periods of apparent lag where you can't interact with anything until it fixes itself.
herobrine still telaports in to push you off 256 block high dirt stacks.

You've increased the Clay spawning? I thought that was impossible? Why else wouldn't that have been fixed in Vanilla by now? :wink.gif: Thanks for adding that, you'll definitely be getting even more good will from that! And kudos on everything else you were talking about! Did you see my earliest post from today for you?

95% sure, though because it is acting weird I have that 5% of doubt
i'll try a clean install and see if it works better
also robinton mentioned using eclipse to find the MCP decompile errors, so that I can finish my ore gen addition, but I'm not sure what i'm supposed to do with it to fix the issue
edit: after a clean install: bugs: i can run outward and unrestricted for a short time, but eventually hit the same issue of not being able to move past the unloaded chunks, and end up waiting. also while watching the chunks load I look out to my right off the edge, and they load from the ground up, right to left from as far right as i can see to as far left as i can see, each layer outward taking ~20 seconds or so to be loaded to the point i can walk on it.
i got an "internal server error" and got dropped, and it spit out this

@marcopolo1613: Thanks for the testing. Glitches noted.
@MineCrak: It's easy. I think it's supposed to be rare in Vanilla, but it seems unrealistically rare... Long term, I'll probably make it less ridiculously common than it now is in my mod... How about underground clay deposits?
"Did you see my earliest post from today for you?" Yes, thanks. Sorry I didn't mention it: I'm having a hard time keeping up with replying to posts...
@marcopolo1613: Load eclipse says with the workspace location="mpc4.3/eclipse". If it says there are errors, correct them. If not, then it won't be any help.
With the clean install, do you still notice the Herobrine effect? I'll try to re-center the spiral. The server error is an error I haven't noticed since I fixed a bug ages back, but others keep noticing it. I'll make the code bulletproof so that no-one can have problems with it.
@dave11: It was easy for me, so you're probably correct... I'll release a trees float above lakes fix someday soon...
Maybe I just lucked out, but in my most recent world, I've found at least 6 clay deposits (within a 30 minute radius of my "base camp." Probably less than 30, but I did have to swim across a lot of water), and I now have about 220 brick blocks (the block, not the bricks/ingots items). And this is without having BTM installed (though, I suppose it could be another mod, but if it is, I can't think of which one it would be). If my current world is an indication of vanilla minecraft, then I'd say it's pretty decent right now. Otherwise, I guess I just got really lucky! Mouser X over and out.
//regenerate height map/light map only if needed

}
edit2: the herobrine affect didn't kick in until 512 this time, you could prolly just say it's wind ;D and move on to a different bug, though I havn't tried moving around up there, it might not be loading properly, like when you could dig below 0
if you get around to doing the last of the integration yourself, the section at the bottom of my mod, which normally produces vanilla ores, but i disabled for your mod, needs to be nullified with comment brackets or deleted. it has some disjointed variable, but the whole section doesn't matter.
@Mouser X: Is that with Vanilla? Because if it's with the latest CC, I put a crazy large amount of clay spawning... I'm working through that. Next update, it'll generate more reasonable amounts of surface clay (though still over 2X Vanilla), but also create rare underground variable sized clay deposits.
@marcopolo1613: func_1024_c() really should exist in Chunk.java. No idea why it doesn't show up in code...

No, I said earlier that I don't have Cubic Chunks installed right now, due to the rather large amount of base classes it overwrites (nothing wrong with that, considering that BTM overwrites quite a few as well, and BTM is by far one of my favorite mods. But I don't have BTM installed right now either). Honestly, the two biggest reasons I don't have CC installed is because OptiFine is almost required for my computer to run Minecraft at reasonable framerates, and because, currently, there's a number of bugs I'm waiting to have "ironed out". Most notably, I'm waiting for the terrain generation to match the build height.
When I started playing Minecraft (September 2010), one of the first things I did was to attempt building a floating castle/island. I eventually gave up (for a number of reasons), largely because I grew tired of moving very large amounts of material into the sky. If terrain generation matched the build height from CC, then I wouldn't have to move as much material, nor would I have to move it as far (basically, just "cut" a mountain in half, and call it good). So basically I'm waiting for terrain generation to match the build height.
So, the terrain generation should be the vanilla generator. But I am using a number of mods, so theoretically, one of them could, I suppose, be altering the amount of clay the world generates. Looking at what I have installed, the only ones that "make sense" would be the Vine and Lilies from ejhopkins' Wild Vines and Lilies mod (which is unlikely), Nandonalt's Coral Reef mod (also unlikely), or the "Web Generation" mod (I don't remember who made that one). Sure, any of my others could, but they're even less likely than those ones.
Maybe I just got a lucky map? Anyone want my seed number, and have a look for yourself? Here it is if you're interested - "-6618700605143974361". My home base is at "Cave System:698:66:-975:true:CC78A7" (I'm using the Rei Minimap 1.5 mod).
To be honest, I have been slightly considering reseting Minecraft.jar to default, and rebuilding, this time with CC+BTM installed (yes, I realize that's an older version). But I like the mountain I've found, and I'd like to stick around on it for awhile. So I'm still slightly indecisive on that (though, theoretically I could use MCedit to "import" those mountains into my new CC+BTM world).
Anyway, thank you so much for the development of this! I've been waiting quite awhile (as I said earlier, this is, basically, what Bucyruss was originally shooting for when he made BTM back in October last year), so I can wait a little while longer. Mouser X over and out.
It's not "fixed" because Notch doesn't want it to be I guess. Why would it be impossible? Not to rain on anyone's parade, but it's not that big of a deal. PTM/BTM has had clay spawn control for a long time.
To make sure I wasn't remembering things wrong that it actually worked I did a test where I made clay 10 times as common: PTM-world with lots of clay
It's not impossible or even difficult, hence the sarcasm against Mojang... I guess you missed that. The deposit levels had been unexplainably low forever, and people everywhere have complained about it forever, with no change and no explanation offered.
Which is why, despite the lack of a parade..; it's a nice touch on Robinton's part to add that and worthy of a quick mention (It doesn't need to bring about world peace to be worthy of a quick mention..). Easy or not is not the issue because it's not "easy" for most of the three million or more of the games users, and it's better to just have the problem fixed to a reasonable level by default.
Heyo. I'd just like to thank you for the cubic chunks mod. its quite epic, one problem though. with single player commands when you turn blocks off they're still on xD. -POINTS AT THIS MOD- YOU DID THISSS! Haha I'm just playing. I would just like to inform you! Have a good one

If you also intend to update the PhoenixTerrain component of cubic chunks, you might want to have a look at today's announcement about biome borders.
It would be nice to have a way to roll back any changes Notch makes to biome terrain generation, so if we want sharp borders between biomes, we can have them, and if we don't, we can also have that.
I'm thinking the biome borders will be "terrain-congruent" such as taiga would only appear at higher elevations, deserts would lie nestled between a ring of mountains, forests would be bordered by rivers, etc. But what if they're all separated from one another by giant walls or ravines?
Awkward.
I'm even thinking that suppressing ravines altogether, or having a way to alter the frequency of NPC villages and dungeons, would be a good thing. especially with a height limit of 4096, you don't want a ravine it takes you 20 minutes to descend or ascend using a ladder.
I guess I haven't seen the same complaining "everywhere" about this that you have, and since I personally usually have found clay here and there enough for my needs it has not really seemed like a big problem. And I guess I have understood why Notch might want it basically like this, a rare material that you feel happy about finding when you do.
And I have seen some of the complaints, about how it's actually rarer than diamonds if you count the generated blocks in a map. The main thing in my opinion is how and where it spawns, only along sandy beaches. Which Robinton hinted about above with the mention of getting clay to spawn elsewhere. That would be a great new thing to add, and maybe do it with sandstone as well if possible.
So I suppose I might have misread the tone in your post slightly but my main point was to inform that this had been done before and at least to all those using PTM this might not be as revolutionary as you made it seem.
(before you started shouting 'Get CubicChunks! Now with extra Clay!' from the rooftops. :smile.gif: )
Yeah, I knew that it was possible with PTM, World Edit and about every other terrain editor + other misc mods out there to do this for a Vanilla world, and I perhaps falsely assumed that everyone else hanging out in the mods sections would know that too, pretty obvious. All of that is irrelevant though to this mod and Cubic Worlds at this time and the purpose of that post; as people cannot currently count on those tools to necessarily & safely work with a Cubic Chunks World for those purposes.
So in the proper context of Terrain variability & customizability still very much being under development, what I posted was to the point. You not only misread my tone completely but also the context. PTM features are still being converted by people in this thread to work in a Cubic World. At some point it should then be possible for people to use that code when combined into CC to do exactly what you said, and will be worthy of mention then too. In the mean-time the thoughtful little addition of that by Robinton will be a nice thing to have. Again, the sarcastic aspect (the main aspect) of the post you refer to was in regards to an issue that I, unlike you apparently, am very aware of and have seen many threads and posts about.
Thank you for trying to help.
