!!Be sure to mark March 5th on your calendars folks!!
Your friendly neighborhood Kingpin here...
Just a quick update folks. With 1.2 hot off the presses, you can expect a barrage of mod updates in the coming days. I know most authors rely on MCP to help with their work, and i am no exception. But as soon as that wonderful tool is brought up to date, you can bet on a new version of Assorted Wildlife shortly after. While i try to stay away from absolutes, i can tell you to expect new content. I am hoping to add some new features. But for now i wanted to post a development pic to hold you folks over until i release Assorted Wildlife Ver 1.5.
Dude this is a freaking awesome mod! I love the creatures, they're better than Mo' Creatures imo and your mod also works alongside IDResolver unlike mo'. I just got ambushed by 6 Anubis dogs and they scared the **** out of me lol.

<3 this mod
Thank you so much for the support. LOL, glad to hear the Anubis dogs are working as intended. The first time i tested them after coding, they made me jump a little in my chair. I thought to myself, mission accomplished.
Look's great but you should work on Multiplayer Support!
Also, what did you use to view that Mob?
SMP support is planned for the very near future. As soon as i have the time. And all i did was take a screen shot of the model in Techne and paste it in Paint. Crop and save. Thanks for the support.
Obviously a wonderful mod. Can't wait for the updates!
Keep it goin, m8!
Cheers! :-( ): :-( ): :-( ):
Thanks for the support.
- UPDATE -
Apologies for the update being so late. I have been a little under the weather and a few family issues have prevented me from working on my project. This update will include the mob that was previewed a few posts back, the Infernal Hound. I have implemented spawn eggs for all of my custom mobs. And the tamable gorilla will finally make its debut. I do have some bad news for fans of the LoafCat. With the implementation of ocelots and cats in-game, that particular mob will be on an indefinite hiatus. I am hoping that the Polar Bear and Snow Leopard will get new skins, because the place-holder textures I made for them were not the greatest. My regular artist has a lot on his plate right now with commissions, so that makes it harder on him to do FREE Minecraft skins. I am hoping our very own Bockwurst will maybe want to do a skin or two, but we shall see. The update still needs some tweaks and testing. So, I am planning on releasing it tomorrow at the earliest.
Thank you all for your support and patience with this update.
As always, questions, comments, and suggestions are always welcome here at Kingpin Kreations.
Absolutely stunning mod and the creatures are exceptionally unique and well thought through. I hope our negotiations will get you the coverage the mod deserves and I have upvoted quite a few of your posts on this thread for rep points .
Some suggestions for potential future creatures:
1. A particle effect entity consisting of either an element or nature(e.g. leaves), this is basicly a moving living creature made out of things like rocks, leaves, flowers, etc like a blaze but then not hostile unless provoked.
2. Mole, passive digging creature(doens't actually dig but can 'phase-trhough' blocks with a digging effect.
3. Insects, bees, mosquitos, catepillars. Perhaps add jars and nets so you can catch em and put them on display as a hobby.
4. Whale, a very large water creature which only spawns in deep ocean. Has naturual behaviour to surface every once in a while. Quite rare due to whale hunters, to remind people that these are a dying species due to us.
5. Ability to ride/befriend centaurs?
6. A mystical, companion creature, like a glowing floating orb that shoots light beams at your enemies once you befriend them. A serene mysterious entity you can never quite understand.
7. The griffin, a furios, hostile, flying, stone creature that when killed can be turned into a placeable statue for decoration and certain buff(scares certain mobs away).
8. Baby dragons?
9. Yeti(tundra), a hairy passive beast that becomes hostile when you come too close.
10. Minotaur, a hulky, tough fella that has two frontal horns for devestating charges. Very dangerous but not the brightest, drops random looted weaponrary from other adventurers.
11. Armadillo, a toughly-armoured but slow passive creature. It's hide is very tough and can be used to create a very strong form of leather protection.
12. Eagle , eyes of the sky this guy is a hunter creature and will swipe down and attempt to consume any smaller critters it sees. At night it is passive and will likely land. Drops 5-10 feathers upon death(very difficult to kill due to guerilla tactics).
13.Hedgehogs, passive friendly creatures that have the unfortunate side-effect of causing damage upon contact. If handled with care they can become a faithful pet and form of protection.
14. Lonesome George, last of it's kind this massive turtle can become your wise and majestic friend, it only spawns once per world so you should protect it well. Recommended to secure and treat it well for certain rewards, potential quest to find a mate?
15. Flying fish, a unique fish that can literally jump high out of the water , it glides across the ocean with it's wings and is incredibly hard to chase. If you do manage to trap two of them together you could start a flying fish farm and use their eggs for the famous fish eggs dish.
16. Flamingos, natures elegant beasts. They look pretty and like to stand in shallow swamp water, often the target of predators you could choos to trap them and start a flamingo ranch for feathers.
17. Saolas, similar to the deer it has short horns and a brown fur with white patches. It will flee from other creatures, drops leather, is the target of hunter creatures, and come in groups.
Hope these help, if you quote me I get emailed so if you respond please quote me .

I will update my list of suggestions as I look through them.
Thanks so much for the support, Cy. You should have a PM in your inbox regarding our other business.
Thanks for the suggestions. Very well thought out and cleaver ideas. I am actually working on a Yeti for a future update and i have had many requests for riding Centaurs. As soon as my coding skills increase, I would definitely like to add things like elementals (already in progress, slowly) digging creatures like moles, rare/boss creatures, and of course some kind of quest/achievement creatures.
Thanks again for these great suggestions. And i welcome all of you to post your ideas to the thread.
No problem , I really suggest you to use the resource links I gave there are other intresting creatures to discover. Most notable is the World Wild Life animal seach engine which has over 23,000 species of animals recorded in it's database so if you want dessert creatures you search for animals in the Sarrah if you want rainforest life search the amazon, it truly is an amazing resource but sadly it doesn't seem to work in my region ;( . Yipee Yeti 8) .
I'm glad I found this mod earlier in development, i'd be happy to see how it blooms out.
Holy this is epic http://imgur.com/a/7wMP7#0 ! IS this a mob your adding for assorted wildlife? It's beautiful
That is the EnderDragon in Zekocraft skin. One of the MANY reasons i support his beautiful texture pack. He has hinted that he would like to do a higher resolution version of his pack. I am hoping that he finds the time in his busy schedule to do it.
Guys i will be posting the newest version of Assorted Wildlife in a few minutes. Just an FYI.
LK's Assorted Wildlife Version 1.5 has been officially released. Download can be found in the opening post. I would have liked to been able to release this update sooner, as was posted last week. But with real life agro and the new additions i wanted to implement, i was a little pressed for time. I was only able to release most of what i wanted do for this update. This version come with 2 new mobs (not including the 2 new mobs released in version 1.4.1), biome specific pygmy with diff color skins, all mobs now have their own spawn eggs for creative mode, and i was finally able to release an early version of the tameable Gorilla. Please enjoy this update and dont forget to leave a post or two. Your posts help keep this thread on the top of the list, so more folks are exposed to it. Thanks for reading and Happy Minecrafting!
As allways your updates are epic , will you be updating the pictures to include the new mobs? Also what do you mean with 'early version of tamable gorilla', do we feed them bannana; are there AI still limited?
Also i feel kind of stupid for thinking that was a new mob... , I think I'll try out the texture pack ,personally.
More Mobs As Allways:
1. Cheetah (extremly fast, hunter creature, err i'm not doing what you think im doing here)
2. Kangaroo(the 'boxers' of Oceania, these guys can pack quite a punch, come in groups, and carry their young in pouches. They are passive unless provoked, you can befriend them)
3. Koala(small version of panda, eats bamboo[sugar cane], actually suprsingly dangerous if provoked)
4. Ant nest(randomly spawn in inhabitable biomes, plains-forrest[most prominently]. It releases swarms of ants at you(single entity, just looks like multiple entities) and when destroyed it will drop the queen ant-expand on the queen ant as you please )
5. Woodpecker(flying birds that have a habit to peck into trees, this replaces the wood with a hollow one 1x1 creatures[like the woodpecker] can enter. Destroying the hollow hole will yield less wood[chance to drop 0])
6. Ostrich(large, bird, incapable of flying, they come in groups and are suprisingly fast they will make quick work of you if provoked[hitting one makes all hostile])
7. Sphinx(An ancient combination between lion body and a human head/cat head. They are quite slow but will cause massive havoc upon you[hostile] and your base)
8. Orcs[Brute, large beasts that love to plummel you with a large stick-although generally hostile upon sight, it is possible to become friendly with the right persuasion...They like shiny things)
9. Dwarves(small, brute little guys that enjoy mining and drinking ale. Drop iron armour and ale upon death, come in groups, dig tunnels if provoked to reach you. You can befriend and even trade with their villages)
10. Elves(Archers, swift, stealthy, elegant; passive unless provoked, live in jungle biome trees)
11. Wisps(little flying magical creatures, they are unfortunately hostile at night due to straneg forces. Drop glowstone)
12. Fairies(another magical flying creature, come in groups and classes. They are armed and defend their queen fairy at all cost. They are passive unless provoked and will kill other hostile mobs, killing all except the queen tames them)
13. Trolls(come in groups, generraly green and ugly but come in different shades. Quite fast, hostile, and quick sucessive attacks rather then one large damage one)
I just downloaded the new version, and am ecstatic to be getting my Anubis dogs and fishies back. The lack of Loafcats makes me sad, though. I know there are other cats, but I like Loafcats.
Many apologies for those of you that could not download the file earlier.
Edit: Download link is now fixed. Using Adfly with Dropbox for the time being.

Sorry to hear about your recording program. I have always used a version of the widely used FRAPS for my recordings.
