MYSTIC RUINS Features:
--------------------------------------
Randomly Generated Dungeons.
Dungeons can contain multiple rooms, corridors & side branches. There is a chance for treasure to be found in the dungeon rooms, and there are even "secret" rooms hidden near the dungeons. These "secret" rooms have a floor made of Lapis Blocks and a Gold Treasure Chest.
Randomly Generated Ancient Ruins.
Most of the time they are buried under the surface, but sometimes they can be found aboveground. Dig underneath these Ancient Ruins to find Buried Treasure!
2 types of Buried Treasure:
Iron Treasure Chests contain mostly common or semi-rare items/blocks. Gold Treasure Chests are harder to find, and contain mostly rare items/blocks, including diamonds, clay, cookies, etc.
Tips for finding the Ruins and Dungeons:
-------------------------------------- Surface Ruins
* Made of cobblestone and mossy cobble, sometimes with vines hanging from them.
* About 20% of the time, these ruins will be found on the surface, no further than about 8 blocks above sea level. The other 80% of the time, the ruin will be buried just under the surface, and in some cases just a couple of blocks might be showing aboveground.
* These ruins are best found by either exploring as many flat areas (around sea level) as you can, digging dirt/sand around sea level, or exploring caves that are near sea level.
Dungeon Ruins
* Floors are made of cobblestone or mossy cobblestone.
* Dungeons can be over 80 blocks in total length!
* There is approximately a 25% chance for a chunk to contain part of a dungeon, although the actual entrance is only spawned 5% of the time when a new chunk is genned.
* Dungeons are made of as many as 2 corridors, 2 rooms, with up to 5 side branches.
* Secret rooms can be found near dungeons. These secret rooms contain a Gold Treasure Chest and have a lapis floor.
* These dungeons can best be found by exploring caves that are at least 10 blocks below sea level, but not as deep as the bottom 20 or so levels.
MYSTIC STONES Features:
--------------------------------------
6 New Types of Stone
Each type of stone is a different color, and they can be cooked in a furnace to produce the smooth version of the stone. Cooking the smooth version turns the stone into regular cobblestone. Each of the 6 colored stone types can be combined with wooden planks in the crafting grid to create colored planks. Now your wooden house can be as colorful as you want!
MYSTIC ORES FEATURES:
--------------------------------------
4 new metals, 1 new fuel, including:
Verdite, Mithril, Adamantine & Iridium.
To mine the new metals, you will need the following type of pick:
Verdite - Any type of pickaxe.
Mithril - Iron pickaxe or better.
Adamantine - Diamond pickaxe or better.
Iridium - Diamond pickaxe or better.
Black/Red/Blue Soulstone - Iron pickaxe or better.
Bloodstone - Diamond pickaxe or better.
To mine these gemstones, you must use an Iron pickaxe or better. These mysterious gemstones can be used to transmute certain materials. There are currently 64 transmutation recipes in total. No one knows what materials to use for each gem, so you will have to discover them yourself through trial-and-error!
To try and transmute a material, surround a gemstone with the material you want to transmute:
Mystic Powder item:
Mystic gemstones can now be crafted into Mystic Powder. (place 1 of each gem in the crafting grid to make it) Combine Mystic powder with any uncooked ore or any dust (gunpowder, glowstone dust, redstone or sugar) to "enrich" the ore/dust.
4 types of Nether ore:
Black Soulstone, Red Soulstone, Blue Soulstone & Bloodstone
6 new sets of Tools:
Verdite Tools, Mithril Tools, Adamantine Tools, Iridium Tools, Obsidian Tools & Bloodstone Tools. All new tools except Verdite and Mithril require Obsidian Rods to craft:
Verdite - Better than stone tools, but not as good as iron. Mithril - Better than iron tools, but not as good as diamond. Adamantine - Better than diamond. Iridium - Better than Adamantine. Obsidian - Very fast mining speed, but slightly less durable than stone tools. Requires Obsidian Rods in-place of sticks. Obsidian swords are 1-hit kill weapons. Bloodstone - Increadibly fast mining speed, but slightly less durable than iron tools. Requires Obsidian Rods in-place of sticks. Bloodstone swords are 1-hit kill weapons.
New type of glass:
A new kind of glass made from Glass Blocks + Obsidian Shards:
Reinforced Glass (Its explosion proof).
Normal glass no longer drops Glass Shards when broken. This was done to make the mod compatible with BetterGlass.

Awesome, thanks for trying out my mod first! Keep in mind that this is an early version and there are mostly just new blocks and new tools for now. However I do have a lot more planned features.
I'm quite cynical when it comesto judging mods but I actually like this... one suggestion though... grey down some of the stone colors... they are a bit unstone-like... what if thay all looked grey with more or less hints of the color... liek a grey with a hint of green for the limestone? Anyway thats my opinon... Continue modding
there's one thing I have a question about....maybe i'm just missing something, but getting the obsidian rods requires you to first GET obsidian with diamond picks and then u either mine more or go to the nether but either way you still have to get diamond first and to my knowledge only one of ur new ores is better then diamond so then wat becomes the point of getting say mithril picks if you already have diamond and don't want to farm obsidian?
okay so axe love the mod its great but just wondering is something in ur mod causing the dirt to have stone texture on it? its weird lol also is it meant to be that u can break the new stone types with ur hands? found that weird also at one point a creeper exploded but only broke on piece of cobble :tongue.gif: just wondering other then that great mod also everything glows i love it :smile.gif:.

I MIGHT change the requirement for Mithril, so that it only requires wooden sticks. You dont actually need diamond though to get the obsidian. You can make a nether portal using buckets of water/lava and then go to the nether and find soulstone. Soulstone does not require diamond to break, and sometimes it yields obsidian shards.
Also I am planning to make the tools more unique for each of the new metals, so Mithril will eventually get some kind of special properties, like perhaps the ability to be enchanted or bonus damage VS certain mob types, so eventually it should be more usefull and hence more worth it to have to farm the obsidian to make the tools.
The bottom line is that this is only version 0.1 of the mod, so a lot of things can and will be changed and enhanced in future versions.
Axe, not to steal your thoughts or anything, but I made a rough edit to the mined marble texture. I only added a few colored specks to it. If you want me to send it to you or anything, I can. Also, I'll change it back if you want me to do that too. =P
EDIT: Ignore the above statement. XD The texture was terrible. I will leave it to you then. ^-^;

Ha! I must have been thinking the same thing because even though I said I was going to take a couple days off from working on the mod, I already improved the marble texture, adding more dark areas between the white parts, and adding specks of two different colors. Heres what else I allready tweaked:
- Made Mithril slightly more common, and changed its requirements to wooden sticks instead of obsidian rods to craft.
- Made Marble less common. I'm also thinking about making optional downloads for those who want the new colored stones to be a lot less common, or even make that part of the mod a completely seperate mod. Not sure yet how to address it.
-Changed the Verdite and Mithril item icons to be different than the adamantine/obsidian/bloodstone ones. This also means Verdite is no longer just a recolor of standard tools.

Hopefully armor shouldn't be too difficult, so either the next version, or possibly the one after that should have armor for the new metals.
