Wow. If people can make functioning computers out of redstone, I want to know what they'll make with this!
Edit: Mediafire's being a pain. Can we get it somewhere else too?
The names seem a bit clunky, like in the other thread, I advocate a rename to "Lodestone" and "Lodestone Dust" with color either not mentioned but identified by sight (like how the different woods that don't stack use the same name) or using (+) (-) (=) suffixes.
Lodestone Dust (+) is red.
Lodestone Dust (-) is blue.
Lodestone Dust (=) is purple.
Otherwise, I love that there is a demo version of the concept out. From the explanation you gave, though, I have a few questions.
1) Are there / will there be, blue and purple repeaters?
2) Can blue/purple dust be used in place of red in other recipes? Either to make the same item or a version that functions differently?
3) What's the return on the purple dust recipe? Personally, I think it should make two portions, since you'd essentially just be mixing the blue and red together in a bowl, and not lose any in the process. Is this correct?

To be honest, I don't really care what you call it. I personally don't like the name lodestone as it comes with an association with magnetism that isn't really the same as the "magnetism" that this mod will eventually have. In effect, the magnetic blocks will behave much more like electromagnets in that you can "turn the magnetism on and off." Unless another name strikes me as especially descriptive, I'm going to be continuing to use the names bluestone, redstone, and dualstone, all of which are considered to be types of powerstone.
1) There are not yet bluestone/purplestone repeaters. In fact, the redstone repeaters don't even work in v1.02. They will though, and there will be bluestone/purplestone repeaters which will probably also function as "power transformers"
2) For now, no. All objects that were previously made with redstone dust are still made with redstone dust. I may ultimately change the recipes for the blocks that require redstone dust (dispenser, note block, power rail, detector rail) to have dualstone dust instead of redstone dust, just to be consistent, but I have not done so yet.
3) That is correct. The dualstone recipe is 1 bluestone + 1 redstone = 2 dualstone (or purple dust, as you called it).

Powerstone Mod!
(Previously known as the Bluestone Dust Mod)
You're mistaken. These are two different ideas. Mine is an expansion of redstone into two types (two colors) in order to get better space efficiency. My main purpose has nothing to do with making redstone creations more colorful. The many colors in that other mod are also created by dying redstone, not by mining it naturally.
There is also the fact that my mod creates two types of power, not just different types of wires that pass power only to each other. As that post mentioned, it only just recently created the ability to make different colors stay separate in terms of passing power along, so it didn't originally start out having the same purpose I did.
I guess if you wanted to look at it that way, you could call mine a simplified version of theirs, but I had not seen theirs before you linked me to it, so this is in no way a copy of that other idea. Now that I've seen it, I personally think the number of colors they use is a bit excessive/unnecessary, but I suppose that's only a personal opinion.
TL;DR: These mods are similar, but mine creates two definite types of power that can be transferred independently through different kinds of wires. Please make a little more of an attempt to fully understand the two ideas before accusing someone of copying another's idea. You clearly just saw "mod that adds multiple colors for redstone!" and jumped to the conclusion that this was a copy of that other mod. I'd appreciate it if you removed/edited that post, as it is (to me at least) practically libel. I will gladly make a link to the related mod, however.

Thanks for the support everyone! I'm glad to see that there's people interested in this mod!
Just a small change in 1.02_1, mainly a texture change (as I also said in the OP). Also, I've included a .lang file and quick instructions for adding mouse over text for the new blocks and items if anybody wants to include them. If you don't like any of the names or have another version of the language file besides en_US.lang, you can edit the file yourself too. Its pretty simple as the file format is just something like:
tile.<block name>.name= <Name that shows up in game>
or
item.<item name>.name=<Name that shows up in game>
The coded names for the new dust types and blocks are:
dualstone: purplestone
bluestone: bluestone
with the first two being items and the second two being "tiles"
Also, you can change the redstone ore's name if you wish (this is already done in my version of the language file), though you normally never have a redstone ore block in your inventory. Redstone ore's name is oreRedstone

Its easier to make traps for mods with more than one type of power....
maybe it would be better to take thier colored redstone wire a step further.. by making a different power type for at least the primary colors and white which would carry them all

Learning is the only path to perfection. Those who refuse to open their mind to all knowledge and culture are the scum of this earth, But to be a parent to that scum and have taught them to be that way is far far worse.

I'm not really convinced there is a reason to have more than two types of power. The only application I can really see for that would be in making computers, and this mod isn't specifically designed for that. Perhaps you could give me an example of where you would need more than two types?
Although there are only two power types, they can cover all three primary colors for things like the RGB display block simply because 2^2 = 4.
On a completely unrelated note, I found a bug that the mod now has since I updated it to be compatible with 1.5_01. The bug is a rendering problem where nothing but redstone (and sometimes dualstone) gets drawn on the side of the blocks. This is actually due to a change in the rendering that Notch made and I'm working on figuring out what the change actually does that it causes the other colors not to work.
EDIT: Nevermind, it was a simple issue and was fixed quickly. That fix will be available in the next update.

Phew, alright everybody. I just finished testing it and the latest version is available for download. (Whenever I make a new version, I make sure to test the download links and mod my own game from the downloaded file. Then I test to make sure everything I thought would work does work. Everything looks good =D)

This mod is primarily in "proof of concept" phase at the moment so I'm not paying too much attention to its compatibility with other mods. Basically the only way to tell if another mod is compatible with this mod is if it doesn't use any of the same class files. See the next post that I added for a full list of the class dependencies for this mod. (I checked for you and TMI should already be fully compatible.)
What does ModLoader actually do and how does one make their mod compatible with it? I don't think the procedure I have given is really all that hard to follow if its an installing issue, all you really have to do is drag and drop files. Sorry in advance if that's not all its used for, this is my first mod and I haven't actually used other mods before this.

If another mod uses any of these classes, it is not compatible with this mod. Attempting to use both may cause the game to crash or act very strangely.
If the other mod in question does not use any of these classes, it should be compatible. Please let me know if something comes up where another mod winds up being incompatible with this one even when the two don't require the same classes: this would pretty much suggest that there is a bug with one or both of the mods.
I know this seems like a large number of classes, but keep in mind that this mod modifies a number of things in the original game which, as it turns out, are dependent on a number of other classes. As time goes on, I will try to reduce this number as much as possible, but if the mod absolutely requires a certain class, there's not much I can do.

Thanks for your support! At some point I probably will be looking at making this mod compatible with ModLoader. I'll have to look into how to do this first though.
As for your suggestion: I'm not entirely sure what you mean. If I understand you correctly, you're saying that you would like to see a wire that can be used at the intersection between a red and a blue wire that carries the power across the two types, sort of like a bridge. Dualstone (the purple block) does this already because it is capable of carrying the two power types separately. Try it out with the mod when you get a chance.
If that isn't what you meant, please let me know. I'm always looking for new ideas to add to this mod.
