hi i downloaded the mod and put everything everywhere but when i go on minecraft and
create my world it says downloading terrain but then after it has loaded it says saving chunks
straight away and it goes blank and for 1 sec a message pops up help!!!! :angry.gif:
Greetings everyone.
Apparently the game has been updated again from 1.7.2 to 1.7.3.
I've been out camping for the weekend, but am rebuilding for 1.7.3 now.
With any luck there will probably something ready tomarrow.
That was quite a slog, but revision 1 is done.
Lots of good news:
1) There are over 40 mods included.
I am especially excited about 'Minerals and Ores' by Chewey, and 'Mine Essence' by Yofreke.
Other great ones are 'Peceful Pack' '('Fossils' + 'Flax' + 'Nitrate & Sulpher') and 'Biome Caves' by Hogofwar.
And 'Hidden Doors' by TehKrush, which I've been trying to add for a long time.
2) Seronis and I have also worked out our misunderstanding.
He has gracously agreed to have his work included after all.
'Tool Repair' and 'Armor Repair' allow for repair of items using raw materials instead of smelting.
'Mining TNT' makes 100% of blasted blocks drop thier loot instead of only 30%.
'Arrow Recovery' tweaks skelitions so about 1/3 of the arrows they shoot can be reused by players.
And 'Fether Fall' allows hopping over walls or falling without damage if you are holding a stack of feathers.
'Pumpkin Rebreather' allows long stays underwater.
Running out ouf air only means 1/2 heart damage, then it is refilled to your current health.
So you can really stay down a long time by starting at full health, and/or bringing food.
I'll look into adding 'Optimine' next revison, but it has been troublesome in the past.
'Single Player Commands' will not be added, neither will 'Too Many Items'.
Both break game balance.
People are welcome to try and add it over the top of AMCO if they like.
SPC might work (worked initially, but ended up conflicting by rev 4 of 1.6.6 last time).
TMI will work if installed after AMCO.
Ive installed this mod before and I don't know if I did something wrong or not but I downloaded 1.7.3 and I'm getting almost no mods. I put too many items to check and I can only view through 7 pages of items, normally it would be around 14 or 15. My biggest problem is that humans+ millenaire and creeps wont work. seem like more mods got taken out than put in. or are you still working on the others?
Why are so many mods missing?
Minecraft was uptated from 1.6.6 to 1.7.2, and then again to 1.7.3.
So, nearly all of the mods have to be recompiled by thier respective authors.
The modders are a super responsive bunch, and many have updated thier mods twice over the last few days.
Despite the doubble reset Revision 1 of AMCO for 1.7.3 still has over 40 mods in it. (AMCO for 1.6.6 had over 70.)
So if you still have a working copy you might want to play 1.6.6 for another week or so.
Besides, it already had everything Minecraft 1.7.3 was updated for (like pistons) and a whole lot more.
Game Balance
Game balance is the holy grail for game designers.
No-one wants to play tic-tac-toe anymore, right? It's too predictable, too easy.
And there are things that have poor effort vs. pleasure.
Like mining Obsidian to build a Creeper proof base. (Unless you have a mod for that of course.)
For most people, myself included, the fastest way to loose interest in a game is for it to become too easy.
Folks are still welcome to install mods over the top of AMCO. Many will work.
AMCO will make some things easier, the stuff players find tedious anyway.
It also strives make life in general somewhat harder (more hostile mobs, traped buildings).
But mostly it just makes a great game a whole lot more interesting again (more plants, farming, better Nether).
Dunno if it will be worth it for you if you don't already have a vanilla copy of Beta 1.6.6.
If you're ambitious, first roll back to Beta 1.6.6: MC Nostolgia by CyborgDragon
Whew! Luckily I had all of 166 backed up. Noticed a lot missing in this (173) version. Played a little while, went back to 166. Also noticed you changed the 'more ores' mod---preferred the one you used to have (probably not up to date yet). GLAD you leave out the TMI and SPC! (and the troublesome 'opti-' two as well!)
I can wait another week for the real 1.7.3 version of this :smile.gif:
Read an earlier post about including zip-line mod. Looks way cool. Tried to put it in over your 173 when I had it. No go, didn't work (well, it was me doing it after all) Still think it'd be cool if you could include in the 'final' 1.7.3---if it doesn't mess anything else up too badly.
Keep up the great work.
Keekeepo,
You must be using a non-default key binding.
I'm guessing 'Toggelable Sneak' is what is giving your trouble.
According to ModTracker spreadsheet that is the lr.class file.
Try copying that file from your backup copie into your AMCO copy of the game.
MiningLikeABoss,
'Better Than Wolves' would be awesome, but the modd's owner does not want it to be redistributed in mod packs.
Maybe he will change his mind later...
Harley9699,
Yup, we are missing quite a few mods until they are updated.
Personally I'm liking the new 'Metal and Ores' more.
Besides the same number of ores, metals, armor and weapons, there are some other uses for the new stuff: Healing and fertilizing.
And there are 2 new ores in the Nether, without installing "NetherCraft" yet.
Guess I better turn on buildings for the Nether until then to liven it up.
The ambitous can explore .minecraft/ruins.txt, and .minecraft/resources/ruins/OPTIONAL
Mega mods like 'NetherCraft' or 'Industrial Craft' wont fit untill 'MC Extended' is updated.)
Plus we still have minable gunpowder thanks to 'Sulpher and Nitrate', only not crazy now.
I even gave 'Metal and Ores' a full 32x32 texture overhaul: Armor, tools, blocks, almost everyting.
And, there are some new bows and arrows in there too. Give it a chance.
Plus don't miss 'Mine Essence', that was never in 1.6.6 but is in 1.7.3.
Magic spells are pretty cool.
Also, the owner of 'Zip Line' says it's not really ready for prime time yet.
So we are going to hold off on that a bit more.
Look up "The Great Sea" In the texture topic Its awesome!
get the saved chunks/black screen
after about 3 seconds into world
i even reverted back to 1.7_2 :sad.gif:
create my world it says downloading terrain but then after it has loaded it says saving chunks
straight away and it goes blank and for 1 sec a message pops up help!!!!

I'm just wondering if you could add SinglePlayerCommands to AMCO. It'd be really helpful if you wanted to be a god of your world.
Thanks.

If you're ambitious, first roll back to Beta 1.6.6:
MC Nostolgia by CyborgDragon
Save a copy of the resulting file, then install AMCO for Beta 1.6.6
AMCO for 1.6.6 part 1
Part 2
Good luck, rolling back is a non-trivial exersize.
