Thanks for the support, hope you like it. Here is a hint for ya:
The 'Recipe Book' shows how to make nearly everything. Build it first by combining a book with ink.
Arrrg
The 'Recipe 'Book' Only shows default items and blocks, not mod stuff.
Any chance I can get rid of the crazy undergrowth that's coating everything (The wild grass) without uprooting all of the mods? It's making me laggy and it annoys me to no end that the grass goes up to my waist (or higher).
Also, I can't find squid. I think the spiky coral is killing them off. I'm going to turn that one off in the options.
HUGE suggestion, I think FiniteLiquid (by Djoslin) is possibly the best mod currently on minecraft forums. I would suggest adding this, along with compatability (idk if it is or not, havent tried yet).

Yea I'm very interested in this mod as well - but that "Wild Grass" Is far to much. I followed your instructions to the letter and when I go to check out my world I hit 5fps, and the map won't load till I his ESC, which will return my FPS back to it's 120+ but if I explore any of the options it'll shoot back down to 5.
Now this is a shocker for me since my PC should be able to power through this without fail. I wish I could give you more information of why I'm slowing down so much but all I could think of is that it's trying to load all this foliage.
Edit: I've let it sit now for about 15 minutes just open to let it "generate" but I've only seen a 1fps increase.
would anybody who has a mac be willing to post a step by step tutorial? I have never had trouble installing mods before, but this is just pure hell since I can't do it that same way as my PC. I would use my PC, but it's broken atm.
Mattacatusrocks,
Getting 40+ mods to work together is a lot of work:
* Contact all the mod writers and get permission to include thier mods in this project.
On behalf of me and Nandonalt, you didn't ask for either of our permissions, and we would like our mods removed from the pack. We would prefer if people would download from a central source, aka our mod threads, so that we actually get adf.ly revenue from it.
You also didn't ask the last time, but I also didn't care the last time. >.>
Mattcactusrocks and Skultan172,
I was considering 'Finite Liquid'.
It works with AMCO, but replaces all the default water, so Coral does not form durring world gen.
Maybe I'll include it so people can use either one by editing the ModLoader.cfg file: Turn 'Finite Liquid' off when making a new world, so Coral happens, then back on to use the pumps and pipes durring play.
In the mean time you should be able to install it on top AMCO.
I'm also looking into Humans+ and Telescope now too.
Dimerneckel,
I am running latest version of 'HD Texture Fix', which you call "Beta of the next one".
I used a lot of Arrrg's Special Sauce on that one.
It is very tricky to get that working correctly with 'ModLoader', 'Optimine' and 40 others.
That's the main reason I post my stuff: To save others the pain.
So far most of other packs I see out there are flawed in 4 big ways:
1) The best of them only include about half the mods AMCO does. Most only include about a fourth.
2) Include small or poor quality mods, or mods that break game balance too much
3) Don't include 'HD Texture Fix' or any nice graphics that are possable with it.
4) Can't be upgraded to HD textures because 'HD's loader engine gets confused if too many mods are installed.
PotatoOrgy and Luxander,
'Wild Grass':
Most mods can be turned off by editing ModLoader.cfg in the 'config' folder under the .minecraft folder.
This one has separate mods for Vines and Water Lillies, which can be individually controlled too.
Lag:
I notice the lag-while-creating-new-terrain too, especially durring world generation.
It's caused mostly by mods that add new things to the world, like 'Millionaire', 'Coral', and 'More Trees'.
Pushing <esc> for a bit is a good work-around.
That lets CPU stop looking for player input and spend more cycles rendering new terrain.
Lag shouldn't be a problem after the world has been explored for a while.
Squids:
They are out there, just more rare with all the other mobs trying to spawn.
Playing on "peacefull" might help. (Personally I have a harder time finding reeds to make the paper).
Glad everyone seems to be enjoying the pack. Keep the suggestoins comming.
Arrrg
I thought I had asked and recieved both of your permission durring Beta 1.3_01.
If not, that was a mistake on my part, not an attempt at a rip off, and I'm sorry.
I've even contributed to your mods by providing 32x32 textures for both 'Coral' and 'More Flowers'.
You are even distributing my work with your mod (with my permission of course).
Hang on a sec so I can resend PM's requesting offical permission to use again.
I want to do this right, and not step on anyone's toes.
Let's also work together to fix the adf.ly concern.
What would be acceptable? A copy of your 'Donate' buttons on my sight?
How about straight up cash donations?
Adf.ly says it pays $5 for every 1,000 downloads.
I'm not a big adversising corporation, and Krush and Nando are not the only contributers to AMCO.
However, I might be able to do something similar from my own pocket.
How about $1 to everyone who contributes for each 1,000 downloads we get as a team?
With 40+ contributers I'd lose money even if I put AMCO on Adf.ly (which I'm not going to do).
Sorta sucks for me, but a dude has to stand for what he believes in.
I was able to get mine to work. As much as I'd like to think I know my PC, I forget that Intel has that stupid EPU thing that turns your PC down to "save power". I was only getting 1.6GHz per core instead of my norm, hence the lag. After turning EPU off and cranking it back up this worked almost flawlessly - I realized after exploring a great distance I would have to stop for maybe 30-45 seconds to let it load up a bit more. But If I stayed in a area I would hit 120fps no problem.
I'll probably still turn off wild grass as it seems to be more of a nuisance than it is eye-candy.
Great pack! Would be better if you had different packs with different texture packs ready to go, my only suggestion.
Your kind of how-to-fix (not just find) a problem posts are exactly what we're looking for here.
You sir are a true brother.
Would you mind posting instructions so others can adjust thier EPU settings?
Also, the Wild Plants get really thick so it's hard to see in the forests and jungles (just like the real thing).
Head to the plains and the plants will thin out (just like the real thing).
"We would prefer if people would download from a central source, aka our mod threads, so that we actually get adf.ly revenue from it.
So, you take Minecraft's code, alter it, redistribute it without permission from Mojang and make money off of it (fine by me), but then get pissed off when someone does the exact same thing to your work (minus the money part) ?
The only problem i really have with the mod is the texture pack. The texture pack just screws up the game because most people just have a texture pack for a day then change it. so i would think that just the regular Minecraft textures would be best.

I edit two Notch classes in PlasticCraft, the rest is mine (only 1 after next PlasticCraft update). Sue me. Research before posting, as I'll say again because I believe I already replied to another of your anti-adfly posts in another topic about Humans+.
Also, if you would have actually read this thread (again, research before posting) you wouldn't have posted this cause I agreed to let him use the mod(s), after he asked for permission. Hurp Durp.
Glad you are enjoying it Jackie Dead and Froggerbob. Just wait till 'Ruins' gets updated. The new buildings will blow you away.
I don't want to ruffle feathers, but the modding has some interesting morality nitches, and I wanted to comment.
I think it's wierd when people claim they are clean because "thier code doesn't modify any of Minecraft's class files".
So what, that just means the mod has to use 'Mod Loader' instead, which modifies Minecraft's class files.
By the same logic, people who kill thier victems with bare hands are murders, but people who use a knife, gun, or hit-man to kill thier victems are inocent?
The 'Recipe 'Book' Only shows default items and blocks, not mod stuff.
*EDIT* Nvm.
If you work hard, and the modders use djoslin's even MORE block IDs, the answer is infinity
Also, this wasn't working for me, but I had to add modloader after this and it worked fine.
Also, I can't find squid. I think the spiky coral is killing them off. I'm going to turn that one off in the options.

System Specs for those whom care:
8GB Corsair 1600MHz
HD6970 2GB
300gb VelociRaptor 10k
With this as my PC - I highly doubt anything minecraft related should slow me down - but it does. Consider me pickled pink.

BIG thanks to all who work on these mods and share.
I'm not terribly fond of the textures, but that was easy to fix
