EDIT: ummm bug , when the train leaves your line of sight it despawns...
When I was playing with SP commands, I would let the engine (with a trackbuilder attached) go loose for a while, then catch up using the 'fly 10' command, and it would still be there building away.
While I won't say it's not impossible, I do think that either you have a mod that makes it despawn or you aren't going fast enough to catch up to it.
I can't craft the firebox or the freight cart or the passenger cart. No idea why, everything else worked perfectly.
Mods installed: Milanare.
Side note: When I tried to install planes 2 weeks ago I could not craft the engines. Could this be related?

see i dont want to catch up... per say i want to stay in one place while the train goes around my track and comes back to me ..
is there a reason that the track builder is not working... and yes i know how to make/get it... all it dose is just drive off the tracks and in to the water.

To start with, the locomotive frequently did not react to being right clicked with coal (even though the coal disappeared), and sometimes would not let me in when I clicked on it with an empty hand.
When it DID accept coal and start chugging away, it never got very far (only twenty blocks or so) before stopping dead again. Smoke would still be coming from the stack, and I would add more coal, but it still wouldn't move. Also, when it mysteriously stopped moving like this, its graphics would flicker-- and, most strangely of all, if I stood on the track behind the locomotive, I would find myself drifting away from it (as if the tracks were a conveyer belt).
Also, when the track-laying engine goes plowing through a hillside, it drops grass blocks and coal ore blocks, which are not technically obtainable in game.
I downloaded the newest version (8) of this mod into a clean minecraft jar with only the latest edition of modloader installed, so these problems can't possibly be related to any conflict.
Please fix these bugs soon! I really want to be able to have my train, but without a working locomotive I might as well stick to regular minecarts...
Found a bug/glitch whatever you'd call it, if you are using finiteliquids v2 and you have pipes/pumps placed anywhere in your world if a locomotive or whatever hits another minecart etc... the game will crash. Other than that this mod is great but I found a bug where when you ascend/descend in the "new" water it constantly refreshes your O2.

love the zepplin! specially with the risus. biomespheres mod! but the trains are extreamly buggy for me! track builder crashes, steam loco. automatically starts and i cant place the passenger carts or freights...
BUT because i love the zepplin so much i will give you my entire stash of diamonds :biggrin.gif:

it stoped because you had a block entety lying infront of it meaning when you breake any block the thing that comes out will stop regular minecart and the train, the flickering of the graphics i would probeably gues happened when you looked a bit higher then the train/cart, this happenes to every mod vehicle i know ie, the planes have it the steamboat has that the hotair ballon has it its just a glitch with monecraft itself and the sometimes coal problem happens to you only? cause its fine with me.

I am a big fan of this mod ( as I have posted on this thread before) but tonight I don't know if it was a bug or another mod acting in. I was using the track layer and fed it an iron ingot and that thing took off like a bullet... I tried my best to catch up!! I started at like +1000 or so and by -500 I gave up... the lag from the dropped blocks was getting too bad.. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but I figured I would share just in-case.

Try changing the ID's in the TrainConfig file

IDK why i posted the ascend/descend crap I was half asleep when I did. But my game only crashes when pipes are spawned and the loco hits something.

Hey Awesome mod!! Just wondering though, in the 1.5_01 udate, can the train cars be hooked onto the back of the locomotive and stay put when moving? Ive tried coupling them onto the steam engine, but it won't work. I even used a stick like it says to do on the video on your page. If theres any help you can give to not just me, but everyone else that has this same problem, please reply. Thanks

When you download the mod there is a trainConfig.txt file, you need to put this in the .minecraft folder.
Then try changing the ID's in the file.
