Could you look at switching your mods over to use minecraft forge when upgrading for 1.8.
Minecraft Forge is an API providing extra modding capabilities. These capabilities have been added to provide support for the different mods using the Forge. As of today, the forge contains:
That is definitely going to be a necessity in the future. My mods already use a lot of item and terrain sprites, and my newer projects are going to add much more. I've been trying to use Forge in my latest development, but it is still not compatible for 1.8 yet. I have three mods that I'm focusing on right now:
HeavyVehicles
ModernTech
ModernWar
They will likely be released in that order. As for a release date, they'll be released when they're finished, unless someone wants to come to MIT and build a freaking satellite for me.

I was just wondering if I could post a screenshot of my building which is covered in halogen lights. It is fairly large, so I hope that is enough for the "epic" requirement needed for post screenshots.:smile.gif:
With that said, I was also wondering if it would be possible to make the halogen's light levels configurable. They are excellent for ceiling lights(5 out of 9 of my fortress' floors use them) but I find they become rather dim if the distance between the floor and ceiling is more than 5, which makes it difficult to light my larger rooms.
That being aid I believe this is a wonderful mod that provides materials for those wishing to build more modern looking structures with proper looking roads and lighting. i do wish you luck on your other projects.:smile.gif:

Do you mean Flan's vehicles? I haven't finished my vehicles mod yet.
Status update: The Humvee in HeavyVehicles is almost finished, I just need to refine its steering controls. I'm also working on an Autominer vehicle that drills 3x3 tunnels when activated. That one is a bit more problematic; it has some steering issues and likes to ruthlessly destroy anything that looks at it funny. Here's some pictures of where I'm at right now. I'm also going to add an Rway Paver later on.
The GUI I'm planning to use for my vehicles, monitoring health, ammo, and fuel, along with inventory slots.
The Autominer sounds awesome and useful for those wanting more automated mining. The Humvee also sounds cool, though I have to wonder how it will handle terrain.

It's gigantic biosphere that I built earlier this year. I meant to put a farm in there but never got around to it.
