It's getting extremely close. I'm trying to release by Saturday.
I worked a whole bunch tonight. I fixed a few bugs that were to do with oceans not properly updating, especially in the new classic mode. Then I fixed up the ice sheets that cover the ocean from caves, they should prevent huge floods when you walk around. Then I finally added in the physics for mixing gas / liquid. I made a hour-glass like thing with water in top and methane in bottom. At first it did nothing, then it only swapped the middle area. So I figured out how to scatter them around when they are in that position and now the water and methane swap completely in the hour-glass. It felt pretty cool once it started working. After that I added in a new system to trigger when two liquids come in contact with eachother. Then I added a new system for lava / water interacting. Sometimes water / lava will disappear, sometimes cobblestone will appear and sometimes obsidian. It all depends on the amount of liquid that is being dealt with.
tl;dr hopefully saturday.
1.9 better not release :sad.gif:
Sounds amazing sir, everyone cant wait for it!
Dont worry, notch and jeb already said they wont be doing normal releases now till the game launch on 11/11. They are only doing pre-release versions till then.
So this will work fine.
And even if they do release the finished minecraft on 11/11 id still rather play 1.8.1 with this mod. This is the best mod for minecraft, water should always have been like this.
Djoslin your my hero! If you can get this finished tomorrow.... play through saturday sunday and monday with FiniteLiquid... I would be in heaven lmao. Ive been waiting for this update for quite along time, and i want to thank you for doing all this work for the community to get your mod working again. Also like the other person said above me, even if 1.9 releases sooner then expected, i would rather stay on 1.8 and play your mod... its just not minecraft without finite :wink.gif:
tl;dr hopefully saturday.
1.9 better not release :sad.gif:
The release of 1.9 could happen on or before the feature freeze on Tuesday.
However, there's no telling what kind of bugs might make it into 1.9, or if people will actually bother updating because of them. You'd have to wait for your mod's dependencies to update, too.

Please make compatible with Optifine. Notch has been optimizing the pre-releases but 1.8.1 is still laggy as s%$@.
Djoslin are we still looking good for the release today or is it going to be delayed until tomorrow? Also i have a few ideas about the mod and i was wondering where i should post them? Just let me know where u want it sent, PM, your forum, or here.

Yeah I'm still trying to get it done today, stay tuned.
And post it on my forums
I'm glad to see it's finally close to being released.
Me too. Finally.
Added rain, then figured out a few things wrong with it. I brought back evaporation, but it will only happen once in awhile on water tiles that are 1 level thick and they have to be above dirt, sand, or gravel while it is raining. Without any evaporation / draining the rain overpowers the area. So I made a system that would put in new water and take out old water all at once. Also the water will stay there if it gets above 1 level high or if it isn't above something that it can seep into. So that means you can still make ponds to collect the rainwater.
v5 won't have heated iron blocks, so you will have to wait for it to actually rain. v6 will have iron blocks.
Haha... I never thought this mod would be coming back :tongue.gif:
Pshh, you underestimate me. Haha
Alright I figured out how I'm going to get methane into the world, I've created the code to generate a pocket of gas that is totally enclosed instead of using the current lake system (with an open roof). Now I have to create a system that hooks into mod_Liquid that keeps track of what types of liquid lakes to create. This way people can expand FL without changing any base files.
Woo, I have a dynamic lake system now. None of you will notice it unless you decide to make new liquids for FL, but you would notice lots of hassles if I didn't get this working. Methane now spawns naturally. I still have to add recipes, add textures to the liquid sensor, and fix up DJReader to work on all operating systems.

Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.

It's gonna be just like we did on the V4 release!
Haha yeah pretty much.
Currently working on: rain spawning

Now working on getting methane to spawn in-game.
Edit. i bet your getting tired of hearing people demand it now or saying "when is it coming out"
Pshh, you underestimate me. Haha
