Liquids are the least compressible of all matter states, and even under enormous pressure they won't get much more compact in comparison to f.e gasses...
But nevermind the boring reality, I'm def looking forward to hit a compressed water vein while mining and drown in my own mine xD
That is to apply a force (here compressed gas) to the water to make it shoot out, like in an ordinary firearm. And I don't recon those are called "bullet compressors" :happy.gif:
I know that I was using the dummy term not to offend anyone but its simpler to explain how water can be compressed that way instead of using the formula. Aside from that water compressors use the same basic idea he's using with the pistons. The amount of force needed to compress water is much higher then that of air. But as I stated as well this is a game. Either way I was simply shedding some "light" on it. lol
Actually that's debatable considering water can be compressed. No not alone however as he said using pistons to push it in, think of it as using air and water to compress it. Yes I understand what you mean by water can't be compress the meaning to a "storage" like containers. Such as compressed air. However even if the volume doesn't change the water can still be compressed to act like a "water gun," for example, uses both water and air to force the water through a small port at the tip of the gun. Either way its a game and though djoslin has made mc more realistic simply think of the compressed water like that of the example of a water gun.
Another example of compressed water is; the water compressor that most car washers use. Also if you don't believe water can be compress look up BITZER Compact Screw Compressor same basic idea on how water can be compressed however this is compressing it for AC.
Bahahaha, I didn't mean to start a physics debate; but I have learned something today.
I actually didn't know that you couldn't compress water on its own. Oh well, gameplay > realism.
And I like your explanation about water guns, I'm going to pretend that is how it works.
I'm working on getting oil in now. Man I have to clean up my code, there are various functions that do the same things in different files. But some of them do it slightly differently. I'd rather get this release out then clean the code though.
It's officially a liquid in the game now, but I have to work out the kinks in interacting with other liquids. Right now if you dump a bucket of oil into a (non-ocean water) lake and mix it up you could end up with an oil lake. Or if you drop a bucket of water into a vat of oil, you end up with water.
After I work that out I have to improve the texture at least a little bit (it's really bad right now), add flammability, and add oil lakes.
:]
Oh and a bucket full of oil will be used as a power source.

Also, should I continue to worry about how many BlockIDs I use up or should I just go for it?
I haven't created pressurized versions of any liquids but water due to blockID usage.
This is so exciting! I am so ready for this mod! Do you know when you will be ready to release V4 to us?
On a side note, do you think that adding a mod that works along side finite liquids would be possible? It would have water generators and oil generators and could power a bunch of cool stuff. If I knew how to mod I would totally do that.
Now mixing different liquids together acts a little bit more realistically.
Whatever liquid there is more of is more likely to take over the pool, and the amount of liquid decreases when two different liquid types collide. This makes it so you can't get infinite oil by adding more water to a small amount.

Dang... you ruined my plan. Ah well, here's to one more post closer to 101 pages.

Supporter of "Build Craft, Industrial Craft, Finite Liquid, Power Craft"
Indeed since reality can be boring at times. And this is a better way to pass the time. :tongue.gif:

Edit--
Yes.
Wearing goggles now reduces underwater fog. You can see a lot better.
Also redstone torches can be used as flares underwater.
Making this SMP will be really hard, but if it will get ported, and oil is added. I will control the world's oil supply. :laugh.gif: :angry.gif:

Bwahahaha
Must... add... pages...
Let the excitement posting begin!

Must help with this...
Lol you mean industrial craft?
Well yeah, but have you used the IndustrialCraft water mills? They get like... 0.014 EU/water block next to them.
