You can now boil enemies alive!
If you boil a pig, it drops cooked pork instead of regular pork.
Boiling a chicken or a cow will drop new Cooked Chicken and Cooked Beef items.
Combine a boiling water chamber with my baitbox mod and you can harvest yourself some meat.

MCP needs to be updated before anyone can release for 1.6.4.
People need to stop asking and read.
On another note, I am trying to get this complicated water system to work with Better Then Wolves mod, to drive my water wheel, and sadly, the wheel just breaks.
I know that V3 will add the ability to exclude certain blocks from breakage, but I just hope that the water can drive it.
Yeah you can set up to 5 blockIDs to no longer break, if he coded it to look for Material.water instead of the blockIDs it will work. Ask him and report back if you'd like.
One problem, with the new patch..all my water is GONE from my world lol. I hope the update to this mode for 1.6.4 will replace it, if not I have no idea how to return water to my world...
Yeah, don't open an old world until you update your mods :wink.gif:
And I don't think it will. Minecraft replaces anything it can't find anymore with air. You might be able to refill it by making a tsunami at water level.
Sorry, I didn't mean to sound unapreciative. I fully realise that what you are attempting is very difficult, it's also very innovative. Was just curious that was all :-)
I didn't think you were being unappreciative :wink.gif:
People just underestimate the effort that it takes to accomplish something unless they share a passion for the same hobby.
For example: I know it takes a lot of work to build a house, but I've never done it before. So I couldn't really visualize everything involved without thinking into it for awhile.
But I hope to get waterfalls working eventually.

What about this for v3: Velocity. And, for what, you might say? Dams. As some of you may know, Dams today have ramps that shoot out the water to avoid erosion. [BTW that could be another thing too to add in v3!] I though that would be cool to make a river from the ocean, create a wall blocking the two bodies of water off, and creating water grates followed by ramps to make a dam. But, whats the use of a dam without the thing that creates electricity? Yep, you guessed it! Turbines. With pumps following to the Turbines, there would be a Redstone wire connected and going to something that needed power, like to light TNT or something. It would create a steady stream of electricity to that item needing power and could be triggered off and on with a lever on the turbine. Then, to put water flow back on to make sure the river would flood, there would be a second pipe pumping water from point A to point B. [AKA River to ocean or something] if this is too much to add in v3, try coding a v4 soon. it would please me so to see my idea put in. PM me if you do.

That would be interesting to see! Maybe the Turbines could charge the red stone wires 10x longer then just a red stone torch?
For v4 can you add water sources? Water sources are blocks that create water. They could be crafted with 4 finite water buckets and 5 infinite water buckets the same way TnT is crafted. Same with lava.
What do you think?
Place water on a diamond block for a water source.
Take your time with v3! It's looking great, and any bugs would annoy me, though if there are a couple that aren't too important that'd be fine. I'm so glad you're still working on this, and decided to take a lot of our requests and use them! Thanks for being an awesome modder. =P
PS >>-->
Finite redstone would be cool, and when the torches are lit, they will very slowly start to lose power and dim, and when they're out of energy, they'd die. Torches would lose power a little faster when actually powering something like redstone wire. Seems like this would be fairly annoying though, so a source of energy that would last longer would be needed.
But if you think of it, no source of energy on Earth is infinite, and work is required to provide the electricity, and maintenance is required, so maybe change redstone to work finitely, and only for a while.
How does that sound?
EDIT: And could you possibly add an option in the config to turn the pipes off by checking if the boolean is true before setting setTickOnLoad to true? That would help since sometimes I accidentally turned on like 8 pumps and could hardly get around because of lag. Thanks if you can!
Well, I was thinking more about scald traps and condensers. Boil the water and it rises up vanishing only when it hits the sky. It it hits a block it moves it flows to the side until it goes up some more. If it can't go it up it eventually condenses and falls back down as water.
However, steam contraptions... Heeee. I guess if the steam touches a turbine the turbine activates connected redstone. The steam is passed through and when no more steam is there the turbine turns off. More steam keeps the steam from disappearing and the block is powered. Steam that passes through continues to float up until it hits the sky or condenses.
Edit: One of the first things to do with v3 is determine how much boiling water is needed to accelerate the weather to the point that I get a near perpetual rainstorm.
I just watched the video and while I'm still excited for the update, I'm not so sure I'm a big fan of the finite water from rain. It's definitely cool, but does it have a heavy impact on the framerate like turning on several pumps does? Also, the rain messing with redstone seems like a pain, but I guess that would just mean you'd have to plan ahead.

There are 5 BlockID that the player can flag as unbreakable. Setting redstone to be one of those ID will likely work.
Djoslin: How does the logic for breaking blocks with finite water work? It is a coded list of values excluding the configured 5? I ask this because I wonder what it means for other mods which may want to have water break blocks.
How does this work with crops? Assume it rains. Will it wash out the crops when it rains on wheat blocks?
Mmmm, this mod is beautiful! I love playing with water! And being able to turn your water back into the original water... Brilliant! I cannot wait for v3 and 1.6 compatibility. Keep up the good work!

I want to, I have to wait for MCP.

Will do!
There already are ripples that go across the water. I may be able to increase the effect later.
Thanks.
It's true. And it looks like he's going to, with the recent addition of lightning.
Like the java code? Or the blockID?
Because it would take forever to explain the java code.
Yep! I downloaded the new version. I'm aiming to release Sunday or Monday. That goes for all 12 mods.

I can't contact you for some reason.
