I'm wondering how easy/difficult it might be to hook a new stair block into BetterBlock's stair system (i.e. make another block ID behave like BetterBlock stairs). I'd love to get the blockset I'm developing for myself and a friend to hook into BetterBlocks. Any insight, anyone? Being new to modding, I'm feeling daunted by the task (BetterBlocks has alot going on that I'm only vaguely understanding while looking at the code).
Please update, good sir? You see, this game, Minecraft, is prone to whimsical whimsy, and Betterblocks was the strongest collection of reliable and logical blocks anywhere! I miss my beautiful 3D ladders and my smart stairs that allowed me to craft such pretty shapes! I look forward to you restoring reason to my minecraft blocks again.
Was wondering if you guys are waiting for 1.9 (Pre-Release or otherwise)?
I'm merely speculating, but speaking as a developer, I would be waiting. Minecraft 1.9 pre-release is out now. I suspect the official release will be very soon, followed by silence until 1.0 (confusing, ain't it?) ships in November at the official launch.

You've got to be kidding me, no Better Blocks until the Official Release of 1.9 or later?

It would be far easier on the developer to simply wait to build their mod for 1.9, rather than make compatible for 1.8 and having to start over again when 1.9 is released. While it is a bit fustrating for players for use the mod, it saves the developer some time and fustration and makes it easier for them to focus on updating the mod for 1.9, allowing for a faster update.
Just to ask though, would requesting for a variation of an existing block go against the rules set up on the main page, or would it be within the rules?
So far, I haven't had a problem with it and the posts about 1.9pr are loaded with problems.
That's because people don't take the time to read about the I/O problem, and therefore don't get the mod that fixes it.
Also, 1.9 is a prerelease, so obviously it'll have more bugs than the final release of 1.9.
Yet, the only new bugs in 1.9 aside from the I/O one are very minor issues, as you can see on the wiki : http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Version_history

Are you kidding me? EVERYONE'S using 1.8.1 as 1.9pr is a buggy piece of crap and it won't be fully released until they are fixed.

Any news on an update at all?
Mangus posted in his future plans that version 4 (the next version) will be delayed until after Minecraft 1.8
