Make sure you're installing the mod into the correct version of Minecraft: Release 1.5.2
Also make sure you're changing the ID inside the .json file so it matches the new names you've given everything.

See...I kept telling everyone that wolves are evil despicable creatures, but would anyone listen? No, of course not, and now you're all ******, so "haha...told you so".
There is some sort of a bug while climbing a rope, your hunger bar drains fast while climbing im not sure what causes this as it doesn't occur each time but it is frequent. The hunger drain can be negated by holding down shift while climbing, i'm guessing thats another bug thats within a bug.

That would be rather strange given the features in question have been in the mod a very long time now and nobody has ever reported problems with it.
I could have sworn it had actually been reported as happening in the past few months or so, something about a player jumping onto a rope being treated as though they were still jumping while climbing the rope and draining hunger as such.
I've had jump-sprint-hunger related issues in other mods, where I was stuck in run-mode (but FOV wasn't increased, so movement speed and hunger depletion was my only queue, or other players seeing sprint particles at my feet). Sprinting, then stopping to remind vanilla about my current state would stop it, but I could also be locked into this advanced hunger depletion sprint mode while below 3 shanks, so I couldn't get out of it without starving or eating.
Vanilla mechanics work fine in vanilla, but mods may need some sort of reminder system to tell vanilla what current player state is after engaging in behavior that makes vanilla forget what it's doing.
I'd try to help confirm, but not up to rope in my game.
Is the feature "Hardcore Spawning" isolated from the rest so I can take its Class file to my minecraft.jar? It's such a nice feature that encourages building ! In my opinion it's worth a seperate mod, but my search ddn't bring up anything. I would like to have it for 4.41 because I am stuck with Minecraft 1.4.6, but the download link for this version is set to private.
I can't imagine using screw pumps, the most clunkiest space consumption designs which has no room in my discrete & compact builds, so i
settle within mountains that have a water source on top which feeds everything.
I don't know why people care so much about compact builds. There's nothing like building a 32 block high pump stack in order to direct water across your entire base to massive contraptions. It's the reason I started playing minecraft, to build things that are huge and awesome and complicated.
Before there was just one, a mob trap, and even that was clunky. BTW gives you several different builds, all completely unique, all related to each other, and all useful for your progression and making further building easier. You're missing out if you only depend on natural water sources I think.

I'm sure a modder could whip something up that does that, although it wouldn't be nearly as good as the version in BTW because it doesn't stand alone in BTW. It is great because of it's relationship to the removal of beds, hardcore of darkness, hardcore info, hardcore hunger, hardcore movement, rarer iron, stratification, and a bunch of other features. Hardcore spawning is what it is because of all those. It'd be like taking the nice rear-view mirror from a lexus and strapping it onto your tricycle. I mean, it still lets you behind you, but it's not really the same thing anymore.

It's basically pointless without hardcore info as well though, and considering how ridiculously easy vanilla is, there isn't going to be any real incentive to build if you aren't going to die. I can't remember the last time I died playing a non-BTW version of minecraft.
And if you have hardcore info, but still have compasses that take just minutes to acquire it's almost completely pointless.
Also, that mod says beds set spawn, so... pointless. Especially when you consider how easy it is to get wool and wood in vanilla.
Regardless of all the above (valid) points, to answer the original question, no, there's no easy way to isolate that feature and use it outside of the mod.

This bug you speak of makes sense in a way, because normally it would take some effort when climbing up a rope.

If such a bug exists though (which I'm not convinced it does), it would be inconsistent, plus it would disadvantage ropes as opposed to ladders, and in turn, if it were applied to ladders, it would disadvantage both relative to stairs.
Something making sense in the consensus reality is rarely sufficient reason alone for it to make sense within a game.

Someone else said they experienced this beside me and its also applied to ladders and another person said they saw this posted earlier, so my case is not isolated.
its not only for ropes, its for ladders too. its not every time but when it will happens it will happen the whole time up. for a ladder very high up, i have food for way up for if it happens. hunger goes down very fast but doesnt shake.
oh and about gravel slab glitches i posted before - i found a new thing but this one isnt a glitch. it is that you can put the gravel slabs on blocks you cant put some other slabs on like piston blocks. maybe on purpose but i say it in case.
Ya its a pretty big issue when you have rope or ladder going from bedrock to surface, i don't think its a question of whether it exists or not its a question of how was this wasn't noticed many months ago, its the first thing i saw when got back into this mod.

If someone else reports it, especially if it's with steps to reproduce, then I'll take a look man, but otherwise, like I said, I can't take stuff like this seriously when it's a single report from someone I don't really know as there's a good chance you're just experiencing a problem due to a botched install or what have you.
Repeating it over and over again doesn't change that.
Anyways, a question. When exactly does 'dawn' and 'dusk' start/end?
If you're talking in terms of Hardercore of darkness, should almost be precisely the moment the sun peaks above the horizon or dips beneath it, as I spent some time tweaking things to get it as close as possible.
If you're talking in terms of fishing or what have you, then I prefer to leave certain things ambiguous given the nature of the activity.

Yeah, in terms of hardcore of darkness, I watched to see if I could spot the precise time I could see into a previously moonless darkness, and there wasn't any, really felt like the sun was rising slowly. Good stuff.

Are you surprised no one has found this before & it exists or is my mod not working correctly and its just me?
Yeah, I'm more thinking it is likely a local problem.
If others confirmed it to be an issue, I'd look into it, but can't really do so when it's reported by a single person.

Yes I am aware of this, but the most important feature is removal of beds, which my all time favorite mod I use already does:
