So.. does anyone know which version of optifine works with this? I tried the one that the other person told me to try.. but it didn't work. On top of that, I tried a couple of others.. didn't work.
I love this mod, but my MC lags like hell, so if there is one that works with it, please tell me.

I couldn't, either, I had to use MCPatcher for HD features.

Let’s play good guys against bad guys… Yes. Let’s play that. Are you ready? You’re the bad guy. And when you’re bad, you just run. That’s fine right? Well… Shall we play?
I don't think so. There's nothing about that in the update notes on the MC Wiki.
IIRC is If I Recall Correctly. So I did not. No big deal. Wasn't too sure, anyway. It's what happens when posting off a phone. You just don't have time to check.

Technically, no version of optifine works with BTW. B2 has fewer issues, but optifine modifies some of the same class files as BTW. Installing Optifine regularly will remove important functions from BTW. There are ways around this, but you lose Optifine features instead.
Why is hardcore bedding, bone, chicken, grinding, info, and sheep non-optional? I want to turn some of them off but I can't.
Its because thats how the mod is meant to be played. And before you ask, FlowerChild isn't going to put in options to turn them off. He has made it clear that they are here to stay.
They're not optional, because that's just how the mod is meant to be played. Optional functions are either minor parts of the mod (minecart tweaks, and nether spawning for example) or have the potential to mess up existing worlds or feel incongruous with them (such as hardcore buckets, and restricted slime spawning)
After some initial reservations about all the new hardcore features, especially the beds becoming purely aesthetic. I have to say that I agree 100% with the changed you have made.
Awesome stuff man. I really appreciate posts like this, as while I am a tenacious SOB, it's still draining to have so many people complaining when I make strong moves to help improve the game.
Anyways, thank you for taking the time to write out that post and let me know that people are realizing the beneficial impact of these changes with time
With regards to beds being purely aesthetic, I actually do have a future use for them planned. It won't be related to what they used to do, but they won't just be decorative either.

I'm actually using the latest Optifine HD B4 Ultra, and haven't encountered any problems. I'm using Magic Launcher to run Risu's ModLoader, Risu's Recipe Book, Better Than Wolves (4.21), Biomes O Plenty, and OptiFine (B4). It says Optifine has 6 errors, but that seems to be triggered by Optifine's Forge compatibility without having Forge installed, and doesn't seem to be affecting anything otherwise. Running the latest version of Java can also help with lag.

You may think that theres no problems but the problems that occur are that you lose certain things in BTW, like dragon orbs and arcane scrolls. While they aren't necessary for the game to run perfectly fine, you miss out on current and possibly future features because of it. Of course I could be wrong seeing as I don't need optifine myself, but this has been said enough times that I'm pretty sure that I'm right.

Yeah, I think it may be time for me to add in an integrity check on that base-class to make sure its not being overwritten. This myth of "it's working fine" is getting way too annoying, and I'm getting thoroughly sick of the related tech-support it generates.
We upped our server to 4.21 where we have an exisiting ender grinder. Tested it out and it's hilarious. I'm going to have to redesign it. I already had some ideas for a new design anyway that use the BTW stuff more.
My buddy aggroed the enders near the drop and it has been a steady deathfest since then. He just wanted to work on his park near the drop point.
I love it, The End is damn scary now. No clue yet how I'm going to kill the dragon on singleplayer when I get to that point.

The hidden nametags is nice, even on our cooperative world.
We're loving the recent patches, can't wait for the villager changes.
Pumpkin hat maybe? Or did that get removed with the Enderman changes... I didn't think to test it out.
Even if that does still work, using it to fight the enderdragon would go from "just don't look at the endermen and i'll be fine" to "oh god, did the dragon just hit me?"

I despise wearing a pumpkin on my head.
My main concern was an accidental hit on one ender would be very bad now, in the past it just meant killing that one and going back to business. Now an accidental glance or hit and bad things happen.
I don't remember seeing that in the patch notes at all. I will have to go back and re-read them for anything else I missed.
They also threw in naturally spawning portals, IIRC. Saves you the trouble if you find one, no?
