i just made a clock using redstone,2 blocks(1 for the torch, one for the block despenser),1 block despencer,1 block detector,1 redstone torch and 1 redstone repeater.when the dirt is placed, the b.det.will send a redstone signal to the torch.that torch will deactivate, breaking the dirt block.when the torch goes back on,the b.ds. will place the dirt block, making a clock.
Is this incompatible with Optifine? Because that's the only other mod I've got right now (excluding Modloader), and the game stopped working when I installed BTW (as instructed by the readme, sans splashes.txt).
It's compatable, you have to install optifine after BTW for it to work.
Ah, and are there any incompatibilities with Risugami's mods or MightyPork's PowerCraft mod? Only asking because I've got a map that requires all three to work.
I'd just give it a little more delay man. If you're working with extremely delicate timings, occasionally a timer that works in one place, won't work in another, probably just due to the order in which particular blocks are getting updated or whatever.
All this probably means is that your settings are right on the border-line of whether they'll burn out a torch or not, so sometimes you get away with it, and sometimes you don't. Given a tick or two of extra delay, it'll probably be perfectly stable.
Also, if you're quitting the game and reloading, or going far away from your circuit, then coming back, or taking a trip to the nether, then returning, standard redstone circuits like that tend to freeze up. If you need a reliable timer that doesn't do that, use a Turntable instead.
yeah, i changed it to turntable setup..., now it works clean, thanks to your awesome mod ^^
It's almost always compatible with mods that use the modloader install method, so both should be fine. If powercraft ever migrates fully to the forge, it will lose compatibility though, so it's your gamble.
You may also find that powercraft will mess with BTW's careful balance; I'd recommend in your first playthrough, do it without any other automation style mods in order to help you get a feel for BTW :smile.gif:
I need help i turned on hardcore buckets and I can't get rid of it! I tried getting new .jar and re-installing and the BTW mod I even re-downloaded the mod. HELP!

Hardcore Buckets mode is on by default with BTB. Check the readme for instructions on installing the config file if you want to disable it.
A fairly laid back ongoing BTW livestream is currently...well, live here: .
Nice way to spend an evening :smile.gif:[/shameless advertising]
What i was told about : A minecraft stream
What i expected: A decent stream to watch
What i got: 20 poop jokes and 3 obnoxiously loud burps over the mic by the guy streaming. I was only there for a minute tops.
Nice way to spend an evening? sure, if you're ten.
@ferrus so i went into the config file but it says it already is at 0, but i cant place buckets in game and there arent any source blocks through tmi
Do you also have BTB installed or no?
BTB will overwrite any configuration of BTW when it comes to hardcore bucket mode. Make sure to check your BTBConfig.txt also if you do have it installed.
If you don't have BTB, then that's really odd considering if it's turned off it should be off. It's a good idea to do what Ferrus said and make sure it's in the .minecraft folder.

yes i am using better than buildcraft...ill do what u said hope it works
Ok it was different in the BTB config file, so i changed it to 1 cuz thats what it said to do to disable hardcore bucket mode, but it still didnt change ingame. Do i have to delete the btw config file too??
No it's in the minecraft.jar folder that is through the bin folder.
You're saying it's in the minecraft.jar itself? It's supposed to be in the .minecraft directory, not in the .jar file. It will not load the config files from the .jar file.
The BTWConfig.txt and BTBConfig.txt need to be in the same folder as resources, bin, saves, texturepacks, mods, options.txt
hello i was trying to use the better that build craft when i got this and i have no clue what is causeing this

I know this is a bit off topic but does anyone know a good redstone tutorial? I want to learn redstone so i can make automatic farms and stuff like that.

No, it doesn't need forge.

There are a few techniques ...
Hardcore Buckets mode is on by default with BTB. Check the readme for instructions on installing the config file if you want to disable it.
1. add mod loader
2. add btw
3. add tmi
but if at any point I run mcpatcher it breaks. Is anyone using texture packs and mcpatcher?

What i expected: A decent stream to watch

Nice way to spend an evening? sure, if you're ten.
1. add mod loader
2. add btw
3. run mcpatcher (textures only)
4. add tmi
Except I only see the regular game items.
