it's like attack of the trolls at the moment i swear... all the troll accounts that were created over christmas are capitalizing on their extended existence.
Please add in this mod more farms (seeds trees) and ores
FC said specifically NOT to add in anything that will affect world generation, to prevent the creating of a new world for the mod to function properly.
Finished my six slot furnacekiln today which was quite the feat for me haha. I'm thinking of trying to automate my hemp farm, with water bringing the seeds down to my waterwheel grinders.
While I do that I wanted to automate a grinder for netherrack, is there a way to grind it, then filter it to produce soul urns and keep the hellfire dust that is expelled in the process? I've been going through a much longer process of grinding the netherrack, and then throwing it onto hoppers w/ soul sand and urns and I'm trying to make everything more efficient while I build up my base.
You can use water to send your ground nrtherrack to the hopper which you can fill with urns or have an other system that puts urns under a hopper and keeps changing them.
Yeah, I'll be trying a water system. I think I have a system down to get the netherrack ground, now the challenge is getting it ground and then directly filtered to soul urns and without losing the hellfire dust (which my hoppers never take when I am filtering the netherrack dust).
I'm still learning a lot about the mod and redstone in general though so I could be overlooking something super obvious.
Wait, just a second... are you telling me all I need is a ZOMBIE farm above my wolves, and here I've been making an elaborate pig farm above the wolves below a grain farm!!!
Personally, I think you're still better off making such a farm above the wolves, but doing it with cows. Dung is only useful in tanning leather after all, and you need to be getting the leather from somewhere.

use a Millstone to grind it. have the mechanical power come from below so you can put a hopper on top. have the collection flow output to a hopper. hopper fills a dispenser. the dispenser fires 8 times, dispensing the ground netherrack into a new water stream. after the 8, there is a small pause. the Urn underneath the soulsand hopper is turned to a soul urn, which a waterflow dumps into a hopper. have a Block Dispenser dispense a new urn. then allow the dispenser to dispense 8 more ground netherrack.
the waterflow over the soulsand hopper should end in either a hopper or a cauldron (depending on whether you want Concentrated Hellfire or Hellfire dust).
i got it planned out. now i need to find and produce the materials needed for it (like Mossy Cobblestone for the Block Dispenser).
Flowerchild: would you mind adding in recipes for mossy and cracked Stone Bricks? (using mossy cobblestone respectively cobblestone)? we already have a recipe for smoothstone...

Damn. Sounds pretty awesome. I think what I was going to do would have run into issues at the hellfire stages, I'm clearing out an area for all of this right now (basically gutting my old grinding area). I'll give this a try, thanks for the very in depth help.
I think I have a stack or so of mossy cobblestone so I should have everything I need. I'll try and let you know when I get everything up and running, it may be awhile though. =p

Rather than a recipe, I think it would be neat to put in a chance for cobble/stone to grow moss when it rains. Aside from its usefulness in BTW recipes, it would be cool aesthetically to make it seem like your buildings are aging as time passes.

Flower fixed it so the monster spawners convert cobblestone around them into mossy cobblestone(thanks for that Flower). So, set your spawners up as mobginders/xpfarms/mossy cobble generators
As for mossy and cracked stone bricks, that'd fall under the category of aesthetics, and he generaly doesn't do those

Funny, I could've sworn that if you looked at the list of blocks on the BTW wiki you'd see a bunch labelled "Aesthetics".

I think what he meant to say is that I generally don't do them on request. Aesthetic suggestions are en endless slippery-slope, so I'm not receptive to them.
could you tweak vanilla cauldrons somehow so that they are more useful? i mean, even if you could just make them combine when they are next to each other like tables or chests, you could use them as bath tubs for decorations sake.
EDIT: i mean, you seem to be pretty good at that, finding the most useless bits in minecraft and making them awesome, and i really can't think of something more useless than vanilla cauldrons. i mean, it doesn't have to be aesthetic, just make them do something, anything useful.

Well, they are fairly useless, although you do need them for potions. It is a little odd having two different cauldrons. Perhaps they could be combined somehow.

May the Force be with you. Unless you're a troll, in which case, may the farce be with you.

as flowerchild just said, no you don't need them for potions, a water block works as well. in fact, a water block works infinitely better, as it never runs out. they are absolutely useless.
I just discovered Better Than Wolves right before the update so I had just started my first world. I am patiently(subject to debate) waiting for the new update so I can start a new world now that I have learned some of the basic crafting and farming. Very excited, this is by far the most expansive mod I have played. Well done!!

Cant wait to see it in 1.1!

No you don't. They're useless

Coding takes time, and it's been around five days (too lazy to count :tongue.gif:) since 1.1 came out.
