I have struggled to find a suitable 1.7.3 old version, and a 1.7.3 version I did manage to find results in blackscreen when I try and install the appropriate version of modloader (yes, I have deleted meta-inf).
I want to play this excellent looking mod, but feel like im stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Umm, I'm going to sound like a complete noob when I ask this... but how do you make a weather detector? I made mine by simply using a detector block facing up, and putting one piece of redstone connecting it to the gearbox closest to my wind mill. The gearbox's power shuts off, but the wind mill doesn't.
The redstone power delivered by your detector block "disengages" the gear box so that it won't break in a storm. You did everything correct, the windmill will spin no matter what, it's just the gearbox you are saving. :smile.gif:
So, I'm trying to get industrial craft to work with this, but I run into an issue with block id 250, I was wondering if I can change it somehow to make it work and where/how I would do this.

- Yea, BTW and IC2 start at the end of the block ID's list. Or close to it. I just worked backwards and changed the last Block ID to 220. Dont worry about item IDs, DONT CHANGE THEM.

Yeah, I found out that I can't change the BTW stuff without it screwing over my old maps, but I tried changing the IC config, but MC doesn't seem to be picking that one up and still thinks my old ID's are the same even though its in the .minecraft folder. :x

IndustrialCraftConfig.txt is the config file used by my mod. If you place it in the .minecraft folder (NOT into the minecraft.jar), it will be read and change some standard settings. The file is not required to run IndustrialCraft, it will run fine without them.

Ugh, I couldn't get BTW/Industrialcraft/Buildcraft/redpower to all work together, there just aren't enough free block id's.
Are you sure? I'm playing with all four of these mods together right now. It took a lot of config block ID tweaking but I made it work. Although I have found that if Redstone Power Array is installed with all of these that my minecraft just crashes.
Did you install IndustrialCraft or IndustrialCraft2
I think I've realized what makes me like this mod so much, and what has kept my interest in it for so long. With most other mods that add in a boatload of content, you usually have to go find some new ore that they put in, and then you have access to everything the mod has to offer. Instead of going the easy route like that, putting in some arbitrary block to unlock the new stuff, you went with a vanilla approach. Basically, this mod is an expansion, adding in higher tiers through usage of older blocks. I love the pure ingenuity of the mod, and I constantly refresh this page to see the updates.
I like how everything is relatively balanced and not "once you get mod items you never need anything else". Keep up the good work, and don't let those wolf-lovers get to you.
well done on the mod anyways i was wondiring if you can add colored redstone for circuits
and can you add cctv cameras and you will need redstone to power it and it needs a tv so you can watch cctv

The redstone power delivered by your detector block "disengages" the gear box so that it won't break in a storm. You did everything correct, the windmill will spin no matter what, it's just the gearbox you are saving. :smile.gif:

In the BTW DL zip there is a config file, drag and drop it into your .minecraft directory, edit this and enjoy
SMP is a long ways off. With how quickly (pre)releases are coming out, it isn't worth the time to invest in working on it.
Im a little new to changing block ID's, is there a way I can figure out what id's are free or that I could change it to without causing more issues?

A few things about changing block ID's:
- Yea, BTW and IC2 start at the end of the block ID's list. Or close to it. I just worked backwards and changed the last Block ID to 220. Dont worry about item IDs, DONT CHANGE THEM.

Yeah, I found out that I can't change the BTW stuff without it screwing over my old maps, but I tried changing the IC config, but MC doesn't seem to be picking that one up and still thinks my old ID's are the same even though its in the .minecraft folder. :x
