Better Than Wolves is a "total conversion". This differs from most mods that you are probably used to in that it changes many of the rules of play to provide a richer experience, rather than just adding in new stuff. What makes it special however, is that it always attempts to do so in a way that retains the original spirit of the game, perhaps even more so than the newer official releases.
It focuses both on challenging survival play, and player creativity in terms of never providing "magic block" solutions to in game problems. Instead, it provides basic tools and leaves it to the player to figure out how to use them to get the job done.
In short, Better Than Wolves is a vision of what Mincraft could have been, designed by a very serious player, for other like minded individuals.

Couldn't you make them separated or just post download links for each one so we could just download the one we want rather than all of them? Leaving the link to download all of them would be good for those who want every mod, though.

Maintaining individual mods of each feature is a LOT more work man, so unfortunately, I'm not willing to do things that way.
However, in the future, I intend to setup a config file so you can enable and disable these guys at will.

I really like the cement mod, thanks!
You're most welcome! Yeah, it's a pretty nifty little doo-dad if I do say so myself :smile.gif:
OH my god i love you have my babies!
*Looks at mod after dl*
Not modloader compatible?
Will this modify any preexisting class files and cause problems with other mods?
I see the point you are trying to make, but it's not really that strong, wolves have had such an impact on SMP PvP that it's hard to call them "pointless".
Not calling them pointless man. Just not my cup of tea :wink.gif:
However, there is something about making my mod require another mod to install it that rubs me the wrong way. I'm also not certain I want to be spending time on making it ML compatible I could be spending on adding additional features, especially if there's an official mod sdk on the way.
Anyways...I'll look into it further. No promises, but it's a possibility.

Gah! This mod has EVERY thing I want in a mod but it will brake my game.
I give you for the effort, bookmarked it and will checkup to see if you do plan to make it ML compatible, till then it now has its own minecraft.jar to call home :biggrin.gif:

Hehe...sorry about that man. I definitely WILL look into the possibility of mod loader.
Please keep in mind though, that in the amount of time that it took me to even prepare this simple release for download, I could have EASILY coded another block type.
I suspect that ML support will involve a similar amount of work, so it's an unfortunate trade-off either way :\
I have an idea, fans. If liquids were to come to the side of the fan, it would force the liquid in the direction of the fan. If it was going directly against the flow then it would just make a gap. up would shoot the water up like a fountain, with the water pushing the player and items up. It would do the same for items. If you were to place multiple fans in a row, all pointing the same direction then the range of the fans would increase. Redstone would turn it off.
i think the title is just there to catch ppl's attention, like "omgftwjdfs there is a mod to upgrade ma stupat doogiiiiiees !!!!!111111oneoneone"
you should really change it, great mod thought
Agreed, the mod is nice but the title probably made a few people not click the thread, and a few more click it just to find it had nothing to do with wolves/tameable pet.
@FlowerChild
I realized the way I said it was kind of impolite. What I am trying to get to the point to is that it's not right to pick out other people's mods and saying yours is better, even if it is. This would be insulting them; I could change my title to be Better than 'better than wolves mod' of my mod, but that is rude, and not right. I have looked at your mod description, and it seems decent, but it has nothing at all to do with wolves.

Ummmm...I'm not saying that my mod is better than anyone else's mod (nor would I do that). I'm saying the features here are better than a feature in the main game (the wolves).
You're talking apples and oranges, and no, I'm not changing it. The whole origin and point of this mod is contained in the title.

Sorry, not going to happen. The title was intentional, and to make a point about the overall direction that Minecraft is taking in its development.
I agree, the mod looks good but the title needs to be changed.

It modifies the following existing class files:
Block
BlockFire
BlockFlowing
BlockFluids
CraftingManager
EntityMinecart
Item
Material
World
If the other mods you are using modify those as well, then yes, there could definitely be a problem.
I give you

Thank you sir! I'm decompiling mod-loader as we speak :wink.gif:

I agree. I want Armored Wolves with Smoothstone-launching catapults strapped to 'em.
