u know there is a no cheat plugin right?

so we ARE allowed to use fly mods and map mods right? cuze i seriously need thoose for getting around places and not getting lost ... x) lol

I love minimap, it is the most useful mod on single and multi-player, because i tend to get lost, or i have several different places to check back to and I might not be able to do that unless I have Mini-Map. You might say, there are maps in the original game. Well, they they have way-points? Do stay with you if you run into a creeper and die?, then if you can't find where you were because you don't have the map and you lose your 5 diamonds that you just mined.
Also, the modders like to give out mods because they like doing it, if they didn't they wouldn't be doing it. So whats in the mod is up to them, if you have a problem then maybe you can Pm and politely ask if they can change the mod so you can't use it to hack on multi-player, but do they have to do what you want. No, they don't. If you don't like that, ban the players that use it or make a anti-tool that disables it.

That depends on the server where you go, if the rules are no fly-mod or map mods, then i suggest you follow those rules.

To be honest, I doubt there will ever be a permenant solution to mod-disallowment. It's just like new viruses and malware: no matter how many anti-virus programs, people will find workarounds.

Think of it logically. Everyone griefs atleast once in their entire minecraft existance. I dont approve of doing it online but what happens happens. The Major deal is stealing with xraymod/texturepack to find a hidden chest on a server that has no lockette type program. I've even hidden a lockette chest full of diamond iron and gold and had my friend tell me he could break into it. There is no cure all pill/program. The never will be so stop your damned whining and just crack down on the Major Griefers. (someone who plays minecraft just to grief) and stop with the playful griefers (someone who just got a little bored and needed a little time with tnt experiments) And Revenge Griefers (people on pvp servers who cant fight back so just grief the fortress ((of their killer)) so they can ambush them in their sanctuary). These are one time or possibly once weekly things that will not disrupt the server too much. If someone goes into a hissy fit then just tempban them with a message saying something like 'cool down he wont do it again and if you just go and spawn kill him over and over then you will be Permabanned' or some such. I really dont care what the hell you say in response seeing as i am one of the very few who really doesnt care about what mods people use. I use several mods myself. Including Xray (for the night vision) Zans minimap, and Moveplus. All of these work (moveplus will kill you if you double jump down a 1x1 ledge. just one heart though) in multiplayer. My server hosts dont care. There are even plugins that make Xray really hard to use if you really care. AmnesiaCraft For Bukkit Servers

Well i dont really support the mods but it seems unfair to twist notches words like that he did not say that he didnt want them he said that it should be up to the server owners to decide but this is obviously a Forum decision though you may Have a server im pretty sure you are taking his words the wrong way i do agree with the griefing mods being tooken out though that is Definitly against his words but the "Cheating/hacking" mods are not. the job of the individuals who run servers is to tell people if they dont want you using it and enforce it and it is not fair to twist someones words like this if you want a True way to tell if this should be what happens hold a poll in ht server forums or contact some server owners and get their opinions otherwise this thread is just twisting words to pleas yourselfs :huh.gif:

Holy jesus christ, after reading through the first few pages of this thread, I think most of you are retarded.

Dont want hacks on your server? Try to somehow block cheats. Dont want random hackers coming on youre server's? Whitelist it. Dont want to ever see a hacker again? Play Single Player.

@ all you people who are complaining about what he's saying, he can't just remove a topic about a mod that is meant to be used for construction projects, or finding ore, and stuff because certain people are using it to grief. That's like saying that cars should be made illegal because certain people use them for the wrong reasons. Minimaps that allow you to place waypoints So that you can remember important locations and your base If people are using it to remember the base locations of their enemys, well, that's their choice, but you shouldn't get angry at a mod because of what the people who use his mod are doing. Even if you got rid of Zan's minimap, the griefers would just write down the coords of peoples bases on a pad of paper. That's why he's changing this policy, stop getting angry at him for that.
