Kind of sucks that OptiFine Light B3 isn't compatible with ModLoader or Forge. That's the only OF that even give any framerate boost (to me). My problem tends to be based in the CPU area, with a dual-core Pentium of 2.3GHz. 500MHz makes that much of a difference, especially for this game.
Is it that modloader hasnt updated so that it'll be comptable with Light or what? And what is forge?
When I dragged the OptiFine folder into my Magic Launcher Folder and ran MagicLauncher it says there were
"4 erros" in the "Status" box. Please tell me what I need to do.

You can change the key used to zoom in to something you never use on your keyboard in control settings.
that's all i can think of for that problem of yours

MCP doesn't stand for MCPatcher. It's Minecraft Coding Pack (or something like that).
It simplifies the decompilation of minecraft so modders don't have to do it themselves. Saving every modder possibly days. Probably 90%+ of the mods you love would NEVER have existed without it and nearly every mod that is worth downloading relies on it being updated with each patch/snapshot.
Ahh. Did not know that. I assumed some mod authors fiddled with the class files themselves. Didn't know most used a common framework.
I'm using the Ultra version of Optfine, this has not been tested with others, but anytime a hostile mob spawns, my game crashes. I am using a texture pack with random mobs, so I'll try turning that off.

1. It is repeatable in the sense that logging back in, and letting the graphics be drawn, results in the same error.
2. Stoppping the server, and then restarting the server, let me log in, and move around for a bit. However, after about 40-80 seconds, it happened again.
EDIT 2: Open GL fast, Smooth loading, Power saver speed. Intel 3000 HD motherboard graphics. Mac (apple driver)
EDIT 3: I was able to get this to happen with optifine removed. So it is definately a TF issue.

Hey forum! I just installed optifine today no problem, I get all the menu options, and its my only mod. (Not even any texture packs) But when I try to enter a world, it'll load it completely and then go to a dirt background, nothing else visible. Anyone seen anything like this before?
Is any effort being made to add in the extreme draw distance feature again? All the other mods I've tried don't work. Please fix this when you get a chance. Thanks.
Feature Enhancement:
Fancy Fog can't be enabled on AMD cards due to reliance on a nVidia specific OpenGL function. Can we work on this and enable it for AMD cards? I have a 7970M and it should be more than capable.
Fancy Fog on ATI hardware needs a custom shader and OptiFine currently does not have support for shaders.
I can't use this mod with forge.
When I extract the Optifine1.3.2_HD_B3 files into my minecraft.jar I have to overwrite a lot of Forge Files.
And so Forge will not work.
Is Optifine Optifine1.3.2_HD_B3 real compatibel?
I use Forge #225 and the last one.
OptiFine is designed to overwrite some of the Forge classes and it includes the Forge functionality for these classes.
OptiFine should be fully compatible with the Forge version for which it is developed and most probably with the fiollowing versions..

I am trying to make it work with minimal number of changed classes to avoid the mod conflicts and to minimize the Forge compatibility issues.
I know this is quite a bit to ask, but is there any way you could make optifine display HD Skins/ Capes?
OptiFine can display HD capes and HD skins, however the Mojang skin server does not support HD skins.
HD capes and HD skins for donators are planned to be added soon.
optifine forge compatability isues isn't really my problem with forge my problem with forge is forge sucks shouldn't exsist and never works for me and last time it "worked" it made lava and water invisable

When I use OptiFine, it draws hundreds of little black squares and diamonds all over my screen. Anyone else have a problem like this?

EDIT: I disabled mipmaps and the problem was barely noticeable. However, the problem does not actually go away unless I reset minecraft.jar. Without the mipmaps, the game looks kinda bad, so I really want to use them.

I have both TF and Optifine. I do not know where the crash is happening, so I am reporting in both places.
Note that while it happens in rendering, the crash report says the list of entities is a null pointer.
