These are my setting's and i usually and jumping from 20 at the lowest 40 at the highest. Is there any way i can get more fps and less spikes from loading chunks.
Why is it that my framerate is still a bit buggy (though faster) but when i hit f3 for the debug, it runs perfectly smooth? Why isnt it perfectly smooth w/o hitting f3?
I'm wondering: Would it be possible for you to do a release without the HD additions? Perhaps list the files I can leave out so it doesn't effect the HD Patcher?
For some reason I get water oddities and tool errors. Nothing game breaking or anything like that but being obsessive about my textures makes it something I can't ignore.
For informational purposes: Flowing water, when viewed from every angle except one the block divisions are visible. Tools like the pickaxe and sword are too jagged looking and don't have the same appearance as with the HD Patcher.
I know that normally PIDH but I don't use any sort image hosting site to put them on. I may try something if the matter is pressed, though.

These are known problems.
The standalone OptiFog (coming shortly) does not have the water problem.
The hand help items are not rendered quite good, still to be fixed.
I've had the LSOD issue since 1.6 when I'm playing in windowed mode. I just found out about this so I tried to install the full Optifog version. At first it seemed like the issue was fixed, but then around 10-20 seconds in Minecraft just froze and completely stopped responding. I rolled back my minecraft.jar and tried installing the optimine version and this one I could play, the problem is though that my LSOD was not fixed at all. I haven't tried the LSOD fix stand alone but both of the versions I tried were supposed to have it incorporated so I assume it wouldn't make a difference.
I play with most of the mods listed in the supported mods.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Well, balls. No easy fix for it then, huh?
I figured that it wouldn't be that easy. With the nature of the changes and all I guessed that they had to be intertwined but I was still hoping.
Have you talked to the guy(s) from the HD Patcher? Perhaps a unified distribution option would be possible? Their HD, your optimizations. Something like the Better Grass option that was added.
I think a lot of you don't pay attention, but rather skip to the download link/s. :tongue.gif:
"For MCPatcher (HD Textures): Install OptiFog without the "ji.class" (the mipmaps and fog distance will not be active). For HD fonts install without the "sj.class". MCPatcher not needed for HD textures and HD fonts."

I did this actually, but it had the same issue with or without those classes.

You have my eternal gratitude for the LSOD fix. I can't even literate how grateful I am someone in the modding community saw fit to make the game playable for a large number of people. Just, thank you.
I've been saving my 1.6 game with your prior fix until today when I saw you've updated.
So far, without mods, the 1.7.2 fix is working wonderfully for me (by itself, I don't need/use the other two mods, and have yet to add any unrelated mods.)
My TODO list is still big enough, the scarce resource is time (just finished the HD fonts support).
The SMP lag is mostly network traffic and Notch has already invested some time optimizing it. What is probably left is sending only the changed blocks to the client, not the whole chunks. I am not planning to start a SMP mod anytime soon.
Nice color effect!
Alrighty ^^ Well , I have this question to ask then.
So... Would you -when you get time-, make a blog update or something on your future plans on what you will be doing. I'd personally would like to know what else minecraft needs and what your plans are on to fixing them. ^^

Unfortunately updating the blog is not on the TODO list. ;-)
Here is the current highly unnacurate list of things which may probably be implemented in the near future:
Hey, whenever I join a multiplayer server or play a singleplayer world, it loads and stops at "saving chunks" and then goes into a black screen, any help?

Just some thoughts.

And thanks for the compl. from the color text ^^
Many HD ATI-s do not support the Fancy Fog.
im staying with 1.7.2 until it is compatible :smile.gif:
